Considering Yuna's dress sphere/Gunner outfit was left out because it wasn't from the original game, I'm pretty sure they'll keep it strictly XIII only.

Additionally, I think I heard somewhere we wouldn't be getting Kingdom Hearts characters this time around, but don't quote me on that just yet.

Anyone who thinks Disney is letting KH characters into this thing are sorely deluded. It doesn't fit with their sterile-clean image. Also, right on every box, it's labeled (C) Disney, produced by Square, so you can bet the big D has if not total ownership then a larger share of all the characters.

Just because Square would like to use some of them doesn't mean they could ever get a hold of the rights.

As an addendum to my previous post, apparently Dissidia was originally intended to be for KH, but Disney didn't like the idea of pitting their characters all against each other, so, yeah, no KH.



But, for the real reason I'm raising this thread, Square announced that they're going to be doing a character reveal on the day before launch, which translates to 4AM Pacific on a live feed event broadcast through Niko Niko Doga, otherwise known as "like YouTube, but Japanese."

Since Prishe and Gilgy are in, best guess is it'll be an official reveal of Desperado Chaos.

More hopefully, I'd like it to be a reveal of Vivi and/or someone from FF6.

Dammit. The thing's so close to launch, and I just find myself wanting more characters. Am I a bad person for that?

By the way, it should be noted that a few days ago, someone found out what some of the new exclusive equipment is. There was one set of weapons that didn't go to any revealed character, and doesn't sound like anything I've ever seen.

Unless you guys know what character would use the "Crescent Knife".

Well, looking into the games with no extra characters in so far and a bit of Japanese, "crescent" translates to "engetsu," which is used for the Full Moon/Moonring Blade throwing weapon Shadow uses ("Engetsurin" -> "crescent ring").

That's a bit of a stretch, though. I'm personally inclined to think it's a weapon for either Gilgy or maybe Desperado Chaos.

Edit: Found it. From what people are saying, the new weaponry might belong to Thancred, an NPC from FF14. Honestly, while it would surprise me to have someone from a game in parallel development, the weapons listed have quite frankly been a B**** to find info on. The Balmung in FF is generally a sword and on second thought the Moonring Blade really isn't compatible with the knife translation and is already in. Basically we have three weapons that we don't know anything about.


Also, Gilgamesh is going to be the best thing ever if they keep his tone. To Terra, roughly: "Why so sad? Need advice?" I think we all know exactly the quality of advice he'd give from the end of FFV. XD
