But it just isn't the same with Red Mage. BM has stated, I know for certain, he'd rather be talking with Fighter then Red Mage, and his opion hasn't changed. There's no way in any hell, or any dimension made by man or monkey that the two would get along so well. Plus, it just sort of seems like how a villian would talk to a former...companion...before the big fight.
That and Fighter HAS a destiny. |

Hello.
As you propably can tell, I joined to say one thing. And it is that I find it obvious what 434 is. It's definately BM's death scene. Think about it.

I kind of guessed that. Wether it's Fighter who ends up killing him, or someone else, that is very final wordsish.

Sorry to double post, but many people have stated that Fighter is an idiot, or just plain not smart. Not true: http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=040805
That comic proves Fighter is smarter than any would guess. |

Not to mention Brian's statement that Fighter is the smartest of the bunch. He's just terribly, terribly naive, not to mention gifted with an attention span that is either too short or too long, depending on which is funnier/worse for the group at the moment.

And eventually, he will. But I think it's unlikely that we'll ever get the circumstances surrounding this conversation figured out until it actually takes place. Good guesses all around, though. At least we have a little bit more understand about this episode than we did before. I wonder where that fish did go? A fish, a fish, a fishy, oh.... Wouldn't you like to know?

You know, a lot of people say that they can't see fighter going through a conversation that seriously OR becoming cynical. But I can.
Think about it: He idolizes BM. BM is his 'bestest buddy in the whole world'. He loves him. He also believes that he and BM are BOTH heros. They're heros together and they're going to save the world with RM and Thief and it's going to be GREAT and FUN! Now, imagine if BM were to say... kill Thief and RM, with absolute finality, in front of Fighter and then move to attack him, with the corpses of Fighter's other two friends next to him. I could see him going straight from happy fighter to cynical fighter. Realizing (or at least believing) that he's not a hero. That BM isn't a hero. That Thief and RM weren't heros. His world would come crashing down as his 'bestest buddy' killed his friends and planned to kill him as well. A finality that could cut through EVEN fighter's density. Fighter isn't stupid... he's just naive, like Meister said, but an action like that could MAKE him non-naive.

how foolish we have been...
Makes sense to me, krylo. Sounds very neat and I can heardly wait to get there.
I was wondering if maybe we should sticky this thread. I was going back through the history of these forums, only to find that almost exactly a year ago, this exact same discussion took place. Granted, we've made a little more headway this time around, but not much. In fact, we spent most of the time arguing over who BM was talking to, when it was already made clear a long, long time ago by Brian and several other mods that it was Fighter. The point is, we are pretty much all blind and stupid. Because of this, I'd really hate it if, in a year from now, this whole thing repeats itself in some horrible, vicious cycle because we're all idiots who forgot about it. At least for the sake of the mods. Every time we do this dance, they're gonna have to roll their eyes, moan "not again", and attempt, in vain, to educate us. Please, think of the children.

Actually, I think these pop up more often than once a year.
I too like krylo's theory, but one has to ask: what is WM's involvement? Is the WM-robe-like pattern just there to throw us off? New crazy-ass theory: WM goes crazy. Maybe because of BB. Whatever. She kills off thief and RM; fighter kills her. BM attacks fighter for retribution. So crazy it just might deserve to be stoned! |
