Question: Toast, will you be posting a response to each of these, or do you want us to make a second post continuing off of them?

rapter: Sorry, I missed your question before.
Its up to you. But, as I keep mentioning, there will be consequences if you decide to go rampaging. Being a Paradox isn't going to really impress a summoner on your trail that is convinced your a mad killer. Quote:
EDIT It doesn't look like there is much need for handholding just yet. Go ahead and post to your heart's content.

Considering the number of paradox manifestations, you’d think that the “monster mentality” is already pretty imbedded into the unconsciousness of Hampington. Thought I might share that. But on to the question: Is it possible for a person to induce a paradox on someone, or even control a paradox through magic?

I'm saying certain movies and book would be more attractive to the people of Hampington., being accepted by the "collective unconsciousness." I'm not talking about the Sunnydale Syndrome. I'm talking about the complete opposite. The Red Hook Syndrome. The complete wholesale noninterference of the population with an unconscious acknowledgment of supernatural activities.
Certain movies and books featuring monsters may string accord with the mood of the nightmarish city, leading to higher box office sale of horror films than any other. This could have a distinct cultural impact on Hampington, something of a Mock Loch Less, where fans of a certain home town produced monster series would campaign it openly as their only means of expressing their unacknowledged fear. |

The PCs have only become Paradoxes recently (I'd say a week at most), like Hawk said. That is hardly enough time for any sort of subconscious cultural changes.
As for magic and Paradox relations, completely irrelevant. Toast has pointed out the rarity of magic, and even then usually just a magic weapon. Meaning anything magical will be purely GM handled. Unless you just want to know out of curiosity.

What I have to wonder is: If we do stumble across a summoner or some sort of wizard, and they are equipped with magical items what are our chances of killing them? Then, afterward, can I take and use said magical item?
If so, my character might conveniently discover a cult of witches who may just happen to have a sword imbued with the energies of chaos stashed away somewhere.

Foxboy's Questions: At this point, no, not especially, beyond the usual rumors or whathaveyou that tend to circulate. The city isn't considered a hotspot for supernatural activity just yet. Even the Paradoxes have gone unnoticed by summoners and monsters as a whole, because they're new.

And chances are, even if you do so happen to find one, the person who has it will know how to use it...quiet effectively, considering that they still have it. For example, at this point in the game, if you "just so happened" to stumble upon the cult in your example, would likely end up with you, to put it in one word, dead. To put it in more than one word, you, very dead, likely crucified to a wall (possibly an inverted crucifixion, depending on what cult) to serve as a warning to not try to come in and steal their stuff. Did I make that clear enough? :brow: Remember, just because you can turn into a monster doesn't make you a big deal just yet. Once you cross the line into the unknown, monsters aren't rare at all. EDIT For all of those who have been hunting humans (or have been rampaging more than the first time), the consequence has arrived...in the form of an experienced summoner. I'm not posting a character sheet for this guy until I need to. I'm not going to sic him on anyone just yet, but just be warned he's out there. And his monster can kick your butts, so don't even try. :p

My latest post was based off the assumption that EVERY city of a certain size, that being a town that people in the area have heard of, has a store which cashes in on superstitious people by selling incense and calling itself a magic shop. If this shop is simply what it seems, a knickknack store for gullible people, then I believe I can continue without my hand being held. If there is actual magical power at this particular store, then I may need some guidelines on what's going to happen now.
EDIT: Oh, and the presence of that guy makes me INCREDIBLY glad that my particular hunger allows my victims to live. This means that, with any luck at all, I'm going to be flying well below the radar as far as this guy is concerned.
