Hey all, I didn't speak in the thread for a while, cos things got kinda iffy for a bit, and I'm sorry to say I think I'm with PF; I'm gona pull out too.

Judging by how things turned out in the sign up thread, I can't imagine what will happen once the RP actually starts, and I'd rather not find out. Shame really, was looking forward to this.

I'm aware of all of your concerns regarding this RP thanks to PF graciously sending me a pm. Your concerns are being addressed and will hopefully be resolved for the better.

I'd also like to say that the actual RP will not start until this get's resolved. I agree with you Hawk that it will only get worse if we start while problems still exist. Hopefully once this is resolved you'll decide to join back up.

I've been notified of the general feelings.

If you're looking for an apology, you won't be getting one. It is my belief that everything I have done, has been for the good of my brain-child. If the belief is that I was being to hard and was nit-picking, then so be it. But again, it is my belief that the various cut and paste characters that I already have seen will not work out with me at the least.

I also do not take to the fact that people want to add things to the concept before their time, when I believe it was made clear, several times as to why they are not available.

Though I am quite willing to see the RP live on, atleast at first, after much inner dialogue it's come to my attention that I never wanted this RP to go beyond the people I trust.

But this is beside the fact totally. After much consideration, I will not take part in this RP. I will leave it in Darkfire's capable hands.

The belief isn't that you were being hard or nit-picking. It's that you were being unnecessarily arrogant and flippant toward your players. Because you were.

You mean like the copy paste generic post apocalyptic world, that's so full of unaltered tropes you can't take five steps without tripping over one?

Which, I feel the need to point out, isn't necessarily a bad thing. Tropes become tropes for a reason--they're entertaining. But to make a world that reads just like every other post apocalyptic world, without even a twist to keep it interesting, and then claiming it's your unique little snowflake of a brainchild and viciously assaulting anyone who so much as references anything other than their own imagination?

Hypocrisy is not cool.

The only thing you made clear is that you didn't want any deviations in the least from your cliched 'brain-child'. Which, honestly, would have been fine, but again, the vocabulary and tone of your posts was one of dismissive arrogance. There was no need for it, and I only stayed out of the arguments up until last night because it could have been salvaged by ignoring you with decent RPers.

However your shining personality has gone and chased them off, so now I don't really care.

Sadly I think you're right. I doubt this will be seeing a start date until things cool down and I try it again later on down the road. I'll remain optimistic though and say that if anyone still wants to move forward with this, please post your intentions. If enough people want to then we will move on. Otherwise it looks like this sign-up is closed.

That sucks.

I've seen this happen before in other forums (non-RP ones). Small missteps and internet misunderstandings during a shared first impression snowball off each other and destroy a relationship before it can begin.

The issues that were raised, by all parties, were themselves just, and worth raising.
But, the tone in which they were raised was (at first accidentally, due to the way the internet tends to strip tone; and then later purposefully) harsh.
And things snowball. Harsh begets harsh.
Sad.


The Endless Sands is still an excellent roleplay, and I'll join in any campaign run by someone I trust and who's allowed to run it (that would include at least Dark and Trans).
If an ES RP doesn't happen in the nearish future, I'll probably join in one of the other RPs around here. The NP forums look to have some excellent roleplayers and I'm really looking forward to playing with you all.
