FRONT KICK OF DOOM!

Oh, he did kill the children. But the purifying flames didn't do much to stop that. Remember, you need help to wake yourself up from Freddy in most of the dreams. Like Seil says, he damn near controls a dream for his own amusement. |

I think in the Freddy vs Jason movie they actually had a great tactic for keeping Freddy away. They redacted any evidence of him from all records, and anyone involved in the incident was given a drug to keep them from dreaming at night. Freddy can't get you if you don't know about him and aren't afraid of him. So when those kids finally die off they could burn the records and make sure no one else ever learned about Freddy ever again.
It would have worked if Jason hadn't gotten them digging into the town's past monsters again. Say what you will about how the movie played out, but it WAS a great way to keep Freddy in hell.

Chuckie was scary when I was small, then I got big enough to realize that I could kick him with pretty much no trouble. Then hopefully no one else knew the incantation.
Old Gregg is still kinda scary. |

I Don't like horrors but Vamps and Freddy are the two that I would rather face rather then all the things that could appear.
I actually had a dream of freddy last night. I saved myself by Splitting myself into the parts that feared him and the parts that didn't When the part that feared him luired him into a specific part of my Mind the parts that didn't Jumped him and curb stomped his ass. Never had a better nightmare. I still say that Weeping angles are WAY more creepy then anything other then zombies. those are my phobias

The other part of me is busy envisioning an obtuse crying alone at night because she doesn't get nearly as much love as those damn skinny acutes.

And the Right Angle is the one who survives until the sequel.

Holy shit did the Xenomorphs scare the everliving unholy out of me when I was a kid.
Loved Predator, watched Tremors all the time, Freddy and Jason didn't scare me cause I wasn't a naked teenager or in the woods at night. I could not handle either of the first two Alien movies. Granted I got further into Aliens because the Action portion kept me in it until the Horror showed up in force, but that first experience with Alien was horrible. Xenos define the very concepts of alien and monster at the same time for me.

The great thing about this thread is that we now know Fifths greatest fear. Now all we need to do is find some way to weaponise it...
Anyway, none of these things that people have mentioned I find scary. As Arnie says in Predator, "If it bleeds, we can kill it," and well, anything that can be killed ain't all that scary. Obviously Freddy can't be killed, but from what I've seen of his movies they're more comical than horror. They make me lol. I still maintain that Event Horizon is way scarier than any of these films. How do you fight the living embodiment of HELL people? Especially when you're stuck a few million miles from Earth, on a ship that's infested with it?? Also those visions of the crew hanging from the cielings wrapped in barb wire with maggots crawling over their faces and giant spikes sticking through their chests does not help. Even during filming the actors felt sickened and disturbed doing that shit.

Is he here? Or here? Surely he can't be hiding under this one. I fear for Fifth's sanity. How can one live in fear of such a campy villian?

And like many horror movies, they overdid it in the final quarter. I mean, visions are stuff are fine but then it's all blood and everything is on fire and you're all "Why didn't it do that earlier, huh?"
