To be fair, I can't really get a solid hate-on for X-2 going since I know better than to play it.

The combat system in X-2 was really good, and overall the gameplay was very solid. The story kinda sucked though.
I loved Saga Frontier, eve though it was kinda a half effort by Square.

Of the games that I possess, I will say that none of them properly belong in the 'In the name of Murphy why do I own this' pile. But none of them are exempt from the 'Okay you've got some horrible traits' pile.
The original Baldur's Gate, yes, THAT one. Let's face it, if you actually played all the way through it and didn't tear your hair out once, you have the patience of a demigod, at least. You're starting a level one party who has the ultimate goal of solving all the problems Sarevok ever caused. The map system is irritating to first-timers. Repeat offenders find it damn annoying. Oh and let's not forget that if you do it Despite that, I still find it amusing taking the party wizard and forcing things to die by ludicrous application of Magic Missile. Nothing is truly immune to Magic Missile.

I liked Star Fox Adventures and thought it was a pretty good game when I first played it.
Well, up until the first test of strength. And the Test of Fear. And the game being ridiculously rushed and not making much sense at all, once I really thought about it. And the collecting, damn it Rare, you didn't have to include so many useless items and you certainly didn't need to play the fanfare as often as you did. And Krystal was completely wasted. And Scales was completely wasted. And Dinosaur Planet, the game's source material, was completely wasted. And even the Star Fox franchise was completely wasted. So much wasted potential, it hurts. So really all I like about it these days is that it's a very pretty game and it has a nice soundtrack, but hey the topic says liked, as in past tense. I would also like to throw in X-Blades, a mediocre hack and slash God of War clone for the 360. It helps that I changed the in-game language to french and decided the protagonist was so over the top when it came to sex appeal that she stopped being sexy and was merely cute. I mean, who wouldn't want to play a game about a cute french girl who explores ancient ruins and slaughters demonic forces for a living? |

Basically it's a great game and the only things wrong with it are skimpy costumes, a weaker story than the series generally offers, and a couple awkward scenes. I actually did a review for Dojo way back when. I could pop it over to you if you'd like to read it.

It had horrible voice acting, too. Don't forget that! Also the story is not only weak but seems to actively seek to make you quit playing the game. But yeah the battle system is pretty cool, plus I liked how open-ended it was.
Since when are skimpy outfits a downside, btw? I too was disappointed when Dinosaur Planet was retrofitted as a Star Fox game. I hated Nintendo for that, since the trailer for Dinosaur Planet looked so awesome. Plus you could play with a sword if you played as Saber, whereas Krystal had the staff. |

I rather liked playing Star Fox Adventure. Might even play through the game again...
Maybe Also SF Assault's Multiplayer was fun I'll give it that.
