Isolated, or thats what I used to think
something deep inside decides to speak Just in time I fall back from the brink Suddenly this all doesn't look so bleak Conversations with myself conclude Resolutions formed and set in stone But this progress is but a prelude I feel something shift as deep as bone Forever changed I stand before you For better or worse I stand for you ---------------------------------- One by one they all approach me then bare their souls before me. Here I stand awash in sorrow feeling nothing as they borrow, comfort from my stalwart nature. Resolutely I support those more "mature" My life laid bare it's secrets exposed No one notices the truth behind me Sometimes I wish they could find me. View of Earth
NOTE: This poem isn't meant to rhyme. The sun sets on a never-ending world, a land that would kill their hopes and dreams for a dime. I really need to say it now, this poem wasn't meant to rhyme. Rushing, dashing, speeding and slowing, the world is a slave to time. Must I say it again, This poem wasn't meant to rhyme. We are a hopeless insane race, our existence is a crime. I believe that I was wrong, THIS POEM DOES RHYME! Another one... Happy Hour Drunk and confused, hammered with booze, my brain is slowly shrinking. Still a-drinking, while I'm starting to thinking "Who's that onstage and wot's she singing?" Bring your friends, bring your enemies, come, one and all! Cause it's Happy Hour, In a Happy Town, In a not-so-happy world. Got onstage, ripped the music page, the breath tester broke it's gauge, wise words come from a sage, but only if he isn't stoned. Sing out loud, be f***ing proud, I just wasted my life... In Happy Hour, In a Happy Town, In a not-so-happy world. Now I'm loose, had too much booze, just find the crowd and schmooze. "Drink some more" the bartender said, it had already gone to my head, I'll barf by tomorrow in my bed. In Happy Hour In a Happy Town, In a not-so-happy world. My head as thick as a brick, last night I was sick, and I thought I'd swallowed someone's d***. I'm cutting back, and hitting the sack, and the only thing I can think of that rhymes is Jack. In Happy Hour, In a Happy Town, In an extremely Happy World.

Inspired by a friend.
Dancing on this stage that we call life, Acting out my part, just a simple part. As I go from scene to scene, Life plays itself out, actors come and go... Then comes the solo act, The spotlight floods my view, I'm blinded, all else now gone, I'm left alone in my mind... Desperate measures soon take effect, I try to see beyond, into darkness deep. Failing that, I silently cry, Unable to see that they are there for me. Blade dancing, teasing me, Daring me to give release, Thirsting for the innocence Of one pathetic soul. And then a hand comes out of the dark, And I see I'm not alone. A clang is heard; the blade hit the floor, And I am safe once again.

Lack of Books
A true story "It's the end of the world" I said. I thought up a poem off the top of my head. I didn't care about time, cause I needed the rhyme and I didn't have jack s*** to read. I had finished a test, I had done my best, "NOTHING CAN STOP ME NOW" I said. But I soon was filled with dread, all because I had no books to read. I would have asked my neighbor nicely, and quite politely, if my teacher wouldn't send me out into the hall, with his redneck drawl saying "Now's the time to read!" So I grabbed a sheet for my pencil to meet. I started a writing spree, a poem about me, from a lack of books to read.

I wrote a poem about snow-
Winter Snows and Wind that Blows Let it snow, they say in song. Snow commence they say. It's wet and cold in winter's hold. It keeps the heat at bay. The icy road by your abode. Is covered with snow and sleet. You play all day in the snow and say "Some hot chocolate would be sweet" The blue sky darkens with freezing harkens. And rain begins to fall. It isn't ordinary rain you'd say. But rain frozen in a ball. You race inside and get there in time. To avoid the hail this hour. You watch the ice fall out of the sky. As it turns into a shower. The sky clears later and turns a blackish-grey And as night begins to fall that day. You go inside and change your clothes. Then down to bed you lay. What do you think? EDIT- Here's another one- Death Death is a door, to all other worlds. A reversal of all things sacred. Death is sad, yet do not fear it. The happiest times are those that cannot be had anymore. You’ll be happier in death, than life. For you have no responsibilities, no husband, no wife. If death is but a door, sadness is the knob. I'm feeling especially poetic tonight so here's another one. Enter a Doorway Find a way into the room. Only to find there’s no way out. You stepped through the door Only to spell your own doom. Find a way into the box. Only to find a doorway out. Step through the doorway. Quieter than a fox. Enter a hall. Doors lining the wall. Each one contains another. And suddenly fall. Walk down a street To find two more. A three way intersection. All three roads meet. Last edited by Captain Switzerland; 01-15-2005 at 12:10 AM. |

Just One
Bullets pepper the cold stone wall Blood splatters against the marble floor Whispers of dust linger, stale in the air Echo (echo) of 'Life's not fair' Cock the gun (Just one, just one.) Darkness stills, just an ounce of light Pouring through a window pane smashed in the fight Marking an image upon the scene A single shadow of fallen queen Look to the ray of the sun (Just one, just one.) Sounds in the corners, edging closer by the minute Senses alert to the room and all in it Sweaty palms and heart pounding inside Thrills and spills, one more adreneline ride A chance for some fun (Just one, just one.) Blistered hands and blood stained face His ravaged leather and her crimson lace Each trying to stand, what's done is done Look to the catridge, just one, just one... --- An old one, but for some reason it came to mind today and I wanted to post it again...

State of Denial
The song of insanity plays again within the hole that is my mind I'm running out of time the lies are giving me a migrane. Stick the needle of metaphors in and let it all wash away It's for all the times I sin just wait till the end of the day Slump to the floor think about what I have missed Open up the door Hurry up, I gotta piss! Stick the needle of metaphors in and let it all wash away It's for all the times I sin just wait till the end of the day What I had forgot What I had lost What I had found What I had needed What I had done What does it mean to me Just gotta stay in the state of denial. Just to let you know, I wasn't taking drugs when I wrote this and I never will.

A snowflake falls, reminding me,
Of peace, of love, tranquility, Of times when life was a beautiful sight, Of times when love was my delight. A snowflake falls, reminding me, Of just how fragile life can be. Of how a single little mistake Can leave destruction in its wake. A snowflake falls, reminding me, Of the forgiveness I recieved, That life will go on back to light... This snowflake falls, beautiful, white.
