His glasses were reversed, so wouldn't that undo the 3D effect?

But seriously, unless Hussie is perpetuating the myth that people with one eye have no depth perception, Sollux didn't say it was 2D because one of his eyes doesn't work. I have a family member who has only one eye, and his depth perception is not impaired at all (Catching a ball, judging distance, even driving. None of it is affected.). Edit- His glasses weren't reversed (click the tabs to change between glasses and no glasses). |

He could be perpetuating the myth... Hussie doesn't always have to be right.
Alternatively, it may not be truly 2D, but Sollux could think it looks close to that, having suddenly gone from 2 eyes to none to 1, and isn't quite adjusted to it yet. also: look here. You can see his eyes without the glasses, as well as the glasses. The glasses are upside-down (note the curve on the bridge). |

Dream-bubble Sullox is half-dead, given the eyes. So the 2D thing is probably an effect of only seeing with the "dead" eye.

Sollux's eyes do flip between color, so I imagine they aren't strictly consistent with the glasses at all time.

I think it would make everything look like it was popping into the screen.
EDIT: SO MANY POSTS SINCE I TYPED THAT.

In other news I was really hoping this storytelling device with the photos would not have lasted so long. It was very clever the first couple times around but now it's just sort of grating.
I'm beginning to wonder why Hussie had the narrative shift to Doc Scratch in order to provide us "recaps" up to Part Six if the "recaps" were every bit as lengthy and in-depth as typical updates.
