Didnt you ever play Super Metroid? You crack the case and destroy the brain, just like the original NES. And then THAT comes out and owns the fuck out of you in a little room. Youre saved by a friendly metroid, and given a super laser, and the real final boss battle starts.

Okay, no, I never played Super Metroid. Never owned a SNES, actually. I honestly thought it was some kind of horrible IWBTG mutation-type.

To be fair, I haven't played any great deal of Super Metroid, either; too difficult on a keyboard, and my SNES stopped working a few years back so that option's out.
Still... NEVER having an SNES? You better A) have an emulator and have played damn near every good game for the SNES already or B) get started on A. Because there is NO excuse for missing some of the best platforming games ever. I mean, we'll have good RPGs getting made till forever, but platformers are for the most part dead. The DS has some good ones, but goddamn it they're not better than Super Mario World 1 & 2, Donkey Kong Country series, Earthworm Jim series, and Kirby Super Star. Anyway. Jul's IWBTG progress: None. Been playing other stuff. Also, IWBTG keeps freezing on me, which sucks. |

I believe Best buy has a converter cord for all major game systems so you can use a console pad if you prefer.
And I KNOW Fry's does. And it only costs about $10. Get ta' gaming. |

Yeah, the Super-Mother brain never happens on IWBTG, as the screenshot shows, thats just some clever photowork. Brain just dies, and the counter counts down to escape.
Anyway, my controller of choice is an original SNES controller with a USB converter chip soldered in. Computer recognizes it at an ordinary Plug and Play gamepad. I have 2 of them, and 2 more NES w/ turbo function, and 2 6-button Genesis Controllers are in the works. But my soldering iron died. Its a nightmare finding a correct wiring diagram for a 6-button genesis pad, let me tell you. And, to make it work better with IWBTG, and other games, I use X-Padder, a program that converts gampads/joysticks to keystrokes. It works in all forms of windows, including 2000, XP, and Vista (32 or 64), and it allows all kinds of control over how to use your pad. You can emulate a mouse if you like.

You realize Echoes and Corruption have the screw attack, right?
