Bello broke huddle to wave at Jal. "Oh, we're working it out, no worries! Gun situation is green."

Turning back to the Moogle, he smirked, "What's the plan, gamblin' man?"

Raltz moved over to Jal, Bello, and Prasad, apparently the moogle was on their side now. Normally Raltz would object, but he decided that this moogle was just sporadic enough to be willing to help them.

"I guess we should be willing to at least hear him out, he did flip a coin to pick his side, so it's not to unbelievable for him to change sides on a dime," Raltz reasoned. "What do you suggest?"

"Well, seeing as I'm helping all of you, then yes, a share of your little gang's entire take is what I'm after," Prasad nodded at the tarut before turning his attention to the thief, "And insulting me with that 'turncoat' nonsense ain't doing you any favors, Stabsy. I'd like to see you show loyalty to a couple of hired goons who have essentially kidnapped you, thank you very much."

The moogle reared back at the thief's prospect of taking his weapons. Not a good bet, especially given that their behavior wasn't particularly trustworthy to him, either. However, the tarut attempted to back off his associate, much to Prasad's relief.

"What's the plan, gamblin' man?"

"I wouldn't trust them to let you live, and my guess is that they're probably waiting for you guys to come out before they set off one of the traps," he pondered, turning back to the thief, "Say, you look like a stealthy sort of guy. What are the odds of you sneaking out there and getting behind them without them noticing you?"

Jal stopped staring at Jade for a moment and glanced back at Wedge and Biggs.

"Not good so long as they're staring right at me. With a distraction, though... I can be very quick and silent..."

He was starting to put two and two together and come up with the unequivocal four.

"Though I'm still not sure we can trust you either..."

After a few seconds Jal let out a loud sigh. "This isn't traps or treasure. I'll go along with whatever the rest of you decide, but if I end up getting shot in the back I'm coming back to haunt you."

"Well, now that they're gone, would you believe that I was really rooting for you guys the whole time?" Prasad said.

"How about we cut," Ralts said, drawing his sword, "a deal with you, we take the relic and anything else valuable, and you get the hell out of here."

"Woah now crazy." Jade held the flat of her much larger cutting implement out at chest height in front of him as a barrier. "Cut it out."

The situation was getting complex. Jade ignored questions about herself for the moment and seized on one point.

"50,000 gil? What we got offered wasn't even a fraction of that. It's suspicious." she said. "Can anyone read Ancient? I think we oughta crack open that book and see what's inside."

"Please give us time to talk this over!" Ralts called out to the two Galkas, hoping to stall them.

"I can read ancient, and I believe our pal here can to," he motioned towards Jal. "And believe me, I'd love to get a look at that book for a couple hours or maybe days, but out employer says otherwise." Despite his words, a good look at the mage's eyes could show that he was very torn at not being able to read the tome, and would be easily tempted to do so.

"As for this plan, even if he can sneak past the two, what then happens, does he turn off the traps, or what else?"

"Yes, I know that." Jade explained patiently, "But them not wanting us to read the book combined with the fact someone's willing to shell out a lot more for it is what's so suspicous, you follow?"

The Mithra nodded at Jal. "You then, read the book." she ordered.

Jal turned his attention toward Ralts, "Someone's reading the tome before we sell it. You can read the writing on the walls here, Ralts, literal and figurative."

Jal let out a sigh and glanced back at the galkans, "That doesn't matter though. The galka outside is going to shoot the ceiling drop switch as soon as we try to leave. They need to be dealt with first... as for sneaking past them... I could attack them, disarm him maybe? Knock him out? You and the moogle could provide ranged support, if necessary... I really don't like the idea of going after them alone, OR letting the moogle keep his guns, all things considered, but I also don't like the idea of getting squashed by the spiked ceiling so..."

"If by 'turn off the traps' you mean 'sneak attacks them to stop them from setting off any traps long enough for the rest of you to safely run in and knock them both out so we can all be on our merry way," Prasad chuckled, before stopping to consider the implications, "Of course, if any of you are concerned for their safety afterward, we could always leave them a note explaining how to get out, if you want."

The contents of the book didn't particularly concern him. They'd obviously be hired to get the book for much less than the actual worth of the item, because otherwise why would you hire some schmucks from the Adventurer's Guild to do anything for you? It's a damn temp agency!

"Hmm, I guess I see your point. I have some historical knowledge, so I'll read it," Ralts said, he in truth didn't care for her reasoning behind it, he just wanted an excuse to read the book.

"But now is not the time or place, we currently need a course of action," he turned his attention back to gambler and Jal, "so lets get started."
