Star Wars: Chapter Negative 35, Spice Lords of Naboo (Team Not-So Good)

"Well, on the bright side, I made a loud noise and flashy explosion," Mixari sighed to herself, peeking out from behind the corner just long enough to take a shot at the one of the turrets, "Clearly, my to-do list for the day has been completed. Yay me."

Oh, how she missed the good ol' days of a few minutes ago when any problem she faced could simply be solved by removing her shirt, a time long since passed in this depressing modern age of soulless, computer-guided death turrets.

As the turrets proved more than capable, scoring two solid hits on George, he decided it would be an excellent idea to seek cover and fled back behind the corner, followed swiftly by Velmont--who's morale was failing quickly as his blaster bolts were absorbed entirely by the turrets shielding.

Luckily, other members of the crew did not suffer from such failings and were able to continue the assault, even as they feared for their lives, as Liflo proved, ducking from behind cover just long enough to fire a single blaster bolt toward the nearest turret.

As Liflo gathered his courage and George and Velmont retreated, Norlan attempted to rally the troops and give direction, apparently feeling that their captain's order to concentrate fire didn't contain enough strategy, before firing off a bolt from his own blaster pistol, which impacted heavily with the shields on the first turret's shield, 'causing it to flicker for a moment, though it wasn't until Mixari fired that the shield finally went down fully.

Meanwhile, T5 let out a short series of beeps and whistles in response to Norlan's questions and headed about the corner, firing a single shot toward the now unshielded turret as he did so, scoring a grazing hit.

Unfortunately, the guard was quick to pick himself up off the ground and had returned to the battle. Both he and the turrets were quick to return fire, blasting large chunks from the small droid's motor actuators and plating, leaving the astromech sagging with smoke rising from its blasted carapace.

DU, however, was quick to gain retribution, stepping around the corner and leveling a blaster bolt toward the unshielded turret, the shot sinking straight down the gun's barrel causing it to explode from within raining bits of scrap metal upon the floor.

"Don't leave the party you started!" Norlan shouted after George and Velmont. He was sad that T5 had gotten killed under his orders. Perhaps some of him could be salvaged later. Norlan needed to concentrate on the battle at hand.

Velmont looked as everyone went back to blasting away. No Grenade's for the wicked he guessed. he noticed T5 become a hulking carcass of a droid and got an idea.

"Eh!" Velmont grunted in anger, "Again I didn' start this damn showin', It was George who decided to blast 'is way out. I was mighty happy with Mir's plannin'. I thought a few more 'and grenade's might have helped us."

He then darted out quickly again. Using what remained of the T5 droid as some cover. Crouching, he leaned out and took aim with his twin blasters at the Turret and pulled the triggers, again sending 2 blaster shots directly at it. He really hated energy shields.

"Blah blah blah, shoot turret now, shoot George later," Mixari groaned, taking another blaster shot from around the corner, "Priorities, people! Sheesh!"

"Hey can we stop arguing, even though this is all George's fault truthfully we all knew it would come down to this in the end." Liflo said as he fired at the last turret from behind cover. Things were going well, looks like his bad feeling from before was unwarranted.

"Don't leave the party you two started!" Norlan shouted as he unleashed a single high powered blaster belt that impacted roughly with the turrets shield systems. Velmont, of course, attempted to defend himself as he fired off two more blasts of his own, the first rupturing the turret's shielding while the second lightly seared its casing.

The Zeltron beauty took advantage of the downed shields, as she reprimanded her crewmates for talking too damn much, and scored another glancing blow against the heavily armored auto-turret, with Liflo following suit both in relatively ineffectual attacks and requests for a little less talking and a lot more action.

George, on the other hand, perhaps getting tired of all the uttered grievances, or perhaps just tired of bleeding, decided it was time to end matters, and signalled DU to give him another damn grenade, which the droid did. Not wasting any time, George let the grenade fly, the small metal orb bouncing off the turret's hull just before exploding.

Before the smoke could even fully clear, however, Jack rolled out of cover just long enough to deliver a final fatal blow to the turret, his blaster bolt splitting the smoke before blasting into a new found fracture in the turret's plating, 'causing it to smoke and hiss for a moment before powering down.

The only remaining opponent, pulled himself to his feet, bleeding from multiple small shrapnel wounds from both explosions. He was in trouble, and he knew it, but he saw one chance. The T5's power supply was revealed. Slowly, he pulled his trigger back as blood flowed from a headwound into his eyes. The bolt left the barrel, and Velmont realized too late the bolt was never intended for him.

The guard's blaster bolt punctured the T5 unit's power supply as Velmont attempted to scramble away, but he was not quick enough. Bits and pieces of droid armor smashed into him at high velocity, propelled by the high energy explosion, and knocking the man to the ground, bleeding in multiple places (17 damage).

"De'lander!" shouted Norlan. He rushed over and pushed the remains or T5 out of the way. Acting as a human shield for Velmont, he took aim and fired at the guard.

Velmont pulled himself to his feet unsteadily, covered in his own blood, as Norlan took time with suppressing fire, but the guard's position seemed unassailable as he hid behind the door, until Mixari scored a lucky shot, her blaster bolt lancing through the man's shoulder and sending him spinning to the ground just as he prepared to fire another shot.

Everyone missed except Mixari whom finished the guard off.

Velmont dusted himself off and groaned. It seemed like such a great Idea to use the blasted tin can as fire. He hadn't banked on the Guard having that kind of skill to make that shot, after all, he was just a guard. He grunted as he shook his head then looked around.

"Well," Velmont said groggily, "Now that we got this little mess 'ere dealt with, we should be hurryin' right along eh?"

He started heading towards the doors and looked back

"What ya waitin' for mates? We gotta get outta 'ere and quick like, before the 'ole prison descends on us."

He then headed up the hallway with his blasters drawn and peered into the room the guard had come out of, hopefully no one else was around the corner.
