Well, it was nice seeing episode one in something other than garbage quality. In fact, I suppose we've got to use spoilers now?I even noticed that Lynn Bei Fong had some scars on her face which I thought was a nice touch (hopefully with a story to match). Also, the pro bending announcer has basically the perfect voice given the 20's aesthetic they're going for.

Really, the only thing I was a little disappointed by was not having Aang's spirit make an appearance.

They've gotta distribute this stuff slowly. They can't just put in all the important cool stuff that people want to see right off the bat.

I did a lot of posting on here as a teenager, and I was pretty awful. Even after I learned, grew up, and came to be on the right side of a lot of important issues, I was still angry, abrasive, and generally increased the amount of hate in the world, in pretty unacceptable ways. So I just noticed that in the opening sequence the benders are previous Avatars but that's not the important part. The important part is that Aang has a beard.

I finally managed to find ep 2 somewhere that wasn't region locked (seriously, that's gona get old fast). This episode was even better than the first, the humour level was right up.

I was expecting to see something more of the Big Bad, but I guess it's still early days yet.

Also I love how they call foul on her earth and water bending at the same time in the match, then immediately and forever restrict her to water bending, somebody just clearly pulled that rule out of their arse there. I am surprised she got her arse kicked so badly though, even if they're using different styles to her, surely raw avatar power should have seen her through?

Far as I remember the teams are meant to be divided into one of each. Earth, fire, water. Korra was playing as the water bender.

Seems clear the teams are specifically geared to earth, water and fire and she was the water.

I think the problem was more her
1: Restricting her bending to just one element. Even from an early start she clearly favors mixing them all smoothly into her own style.
2: Having to play within the restrictions and rules of the game, I.e. not throwing people over the side, staying within the lines, e.t.c.
3:The natural Rock-Paper-Scissors aspects of the elements meant she had a harder time working around the attacks

Nah, watch the intro again. The elemental demonstrations are done by the four most recent avatars. Kyoshi does earthbending, Roku fire, Aang (the adult version presumably) wind and Korra for water.
