I just really hope the gag incorporates one of the kids (presumably Jade or, if you're reading yaoi fanfiction lately, John) typing "Karkat? Who gives a fuck about that troll and his HUGE PANTS and his GREY MUTANT PENIS" ...And then the perspective switches to a close-up of Karkat and a single tear is dropping down his face. It writes itself, everyone

The way I see it, the elephant is Gamzee, the squirrel is Terezi, Jeff (or red shirt dude, whatever) is Karkat, and Bro (or blue shirt, again whatever) is more obviously, Dave. Gamzee doesn't communicate his emotional state well due to either being too chill, or too psychotic, so I think this is illustrating what happened there a little bit... well I'm not gonna say more clearly, but differently, at any rate. Karkat was distracted by other things (notably Dave and Terezi getting under his skin) to the point of ignoring his relationship (Moiraillegiance, so we're clear) with Gamzee, who has been dealing with the same growing-up shit that everyone else has, but alone due to his inability to really express himself, and Karkat's effective absence (notably, a big part of his shit-flipping involves painting, which is itself an expressive endeavor). Plus he's more or less genetically predestined for psychosis. This left him pretty isolated when some earthshattering things happened, so he flipped his shit.
Basically I think the interaction between the elephant and Jeff is giving some insight into how Gamzee perceived what was going on between him and Karkat. Bro and the squirrel I think are mostly there to provide a clear temporal reference point, so we know the past is being discussed rather than the present or future, but also so that Jeff's focus can be diverted to them from the elephant. Edit: And this tells us a little bit more about the Highblood caste (calling them this 'cause they're the only ones who've been referred to as such). Possibly starts to explain why they seem to be nutjobs in general.

That lil' progress bar says 50% now.
In true Windows fashion, I expect Hussie's PC to meltdown (three times) at 80%. Then revert to 25%.

I'm asking because I literally reached a point where I forgot it existed
That's kind of sad really

Ideally, Hussie really should have waited until he'd updated again to put new merch on sale, if nothing else.
Also ideally this would have gone a lot faster if he weren't apparently devoting a fair portion of his time to trying to convert a narrative that only really works on an internet medium into a book. Also also FUN FACT: In two weeks it will have been a year since the last time John and Dave interacted!
