Q1: How would weather-changing moves like Sunny Day and Sandstorm work in this RP? Would they affect the entire city or just the area around the battle?
Those will just affect the area where the fighting is occuring. Q2: ... I just realized that I hadn't asked how do we deal with the opposing trainers once they are defeated. Aw c'mon now, the police aren't completely useless. They'll make the actual arrests...once you do all the really hard work and kick all the ass. My post is slightly delayed because I'm uncertain about how to use the moves I got.
I know you said that AOE moves like earthquake and surf would only effect the battle that they are in, but would they also effect the team-mates fighting alongside you? It just occurred to me that surf (for example) in the recent game also hits your allied pokemon. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue for me as much (magnezone immune/resist most of swampert's moves), but if it also hits Pierce's pokemon as well, then it won't be a pretty sight. Or does it just hit my allied pokemon but leave Pierce's alone? Given how it would seem strange for Mamoswine to have earthquake if he couldn't use it by being partnered with an electric trainer. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm wondering if the roof-top battle is dealt via two dual pokemon battle or one 4 vs 4 battle and if hit moves like surf that would hit all but the user would affect Pierce's pokemon too. EDIT: Shouldn't Electrivire, Yamega and Blaziken have taken some damage from Tyranitar's Sandstorm (Due to its Sand-Stream ability) Last edited by Menarker; 02-18-2010 at 01:34 PM. |

My posts are done in parts. Each part is a battle in itself. Group attacks will affect everything in that battle. Fortunately or unfortunately, things happening in other battles won't spread. For example, the hailstorm at the main entrance isn't hitting the roof and the sandstorm which I forgot to take into account isn't troubling those at the main entrance.

I have the distinct impression AB is going nice on us for our first fight.
What with the Hyper Beam and the using of a grass move instead of an ice one. Wood Hammer will still hurt but since both bug and poison are resistant to grass..... |

Hell yeah, definitely. We're screwed for our next mission.
I mean, I'd totally forgotten about Sand Stream, and it's my pokemon. I have a feeling I'm going to have to start assuming that everything we face knows every move, ever, and obsess over how to prepare for it.

Or AB is simply mimicking the poor AI from earlier gens. It's entirely plausible

What? I'm allowed some leeway to be retarded. But the mission's just picking up. Things are about to get bad inside the bank. Real bad.

Yaaaay!
I'd say that the poke-egg hatches and we get to face something absurdly powerfull, but I have the feeling you're saving that for the follow-up mission. So I'll wait and see. Oh, and there was an unanswered question that you appear to have overread. For your convenience: Quote:

All weapons are equal in power. These weapons promise a power level of 100.
And now almost everybody can fight the Heatran now. Too bad nearly everyone's distracted by enemy trainers and Rogue Pokémon. And please be patient when I miss something like a question. That post I just made took around two hours, thirty minutes to make. I don't regret making this one bit, just help me when I overlook something that a blind Zubat could see. |

Nah, it's fine. You write a lot. This is greatly appreciated. However, I am determined to make your job harder. Observe:
In the pokemon games a lot of the appeal in fighting endless battles was that you'd be slightly more powerful after fighting said battle. Could we incorporate said mechanism here? Progression in character's strength, be it through leveling up, fire support, new equipment? That sort of thing? |
