Is that from The Name of the Rose? I have the book lying around somewhere (haven't read it yet) but I've seen the movie, though it was awhile ago.
Anyways, to keep on-topic I dug up a really old poem. Crappy. Blargity: Holding us in a guise of mystery from the waning and waxing moon to the tempestuous seas. Its solemn zephyrs mystify -caressing fields and whispering truths and secrets- then illusionaries. The trees stand stiff and grow old- and quiver and sway from time to time with their wiseness and telling of lore -of the stream, of the sun, of the wind and air- in rhythm with the passing years. It is an enigma That holds us eternally -For just when we think we understand it- it deceives us again. |

The heck? What is all this? Demon is posting two serious poems neither of which contain references to pineapples or lime green sweat pants? Something seems wrong, don't it?
Heh. Sunrise on a New Day Watched many a sunset, in my time. Did you know that? Watched it all burn away and fade. Fade to black, hon. Not this time. I was away this time. I was asleep. Unattentive. Just gone. So I missed that sunset. Missed it burn away. Missed it fade to black, hon. Suffice to say, It's a brand new day. And, who knows? The sun will set again. - Authors note: Moral of this poem, boys, when you plan to stay up all night with a girl to watch a sunset and a sunrise, be sure to be well rested. Apparently, sunsets aren't very romantic when you snore through them. Who knew?

How shall I sleep?
How shall I sleep in deadend house in empty bed I lie my home has filled with hate unseen that broils like a cancer my house is dark, my soul is split in twain; and in that split, I find a place, where swirling vortex blames it upon me my heart is hurt, my soul to stone, my very center deadened, my head is sore, my knuckles' bruised, I'm jaded to my nexus this darkness bleeds so visibly, the air is black with blood; I tire of this sinful game as my heart reaches lowest peak. ((as promised, BMG!)) |

To a certain self-amused Finnish guy that hangs 'round here...
A type of pie you say? Filled with cherry and cream? Without a crust, if I may Just what do you mean? A pie with apple slices Topped with sugar grains Inside cinnamon and spices Delicious, even if plain Rasberry pie, once was tart But for now it's sweet Hey, it's still a start and it can't be beat! Maybe a pie of cheese Formed into a cake If you had asked "please" For you I will make A pie of all flavors! The best of the best Temptation to savor Don't bother with the rest Now look here bud, Choose one quickly! I know! A pie of mud! For one not so picky! Heeheehee, take that Odoto-chan! |

A light is leaving us again,
A light known also as a friend, Who brought us closer than before, But now she's heading for the door. She is known for cheer she brought, Remembered for the tears she wrought, And while you all are reading this, Let it be known: She will be missed. EDIT: Another poem, inspired by old poem titles. The apology is worthless, just like you, But I'd love to think that the demise of love's burden would end the problems Within this ocean of dreams... But it's all rubbish, for the poet comes upon a bleak December, And one musical note echoes Throughout, and it breaks me... Hopeless causes fill my ears, And I respond, beyond the deep, The causes die, and die, and I Finally give my forgiveness... Though too late, the flatline states That my chance was missed, and My beautiful friendship has become nothing more than a beautiful letdown.

Last sentence written down
She closes the book in this chapter The last page, one of many volumes Ribbon hiding between the pages Marking an unknown thought As meaningless as a sand grain And as important as the stars... Putting the novel on the shelf With a last longing glance She turns away once again This volume, one of many Marked the turning point The time of most change The loss of her outer shell The revealing of her inner light ...and of her inner dark. The new book, blank before her Welcoming the blemish of pens ink Writing the thoughts of a new time ...of an unending journey. For once stayed here Now this one must leave Come back? She might But for now, journey she must Remembering the last sentence In her turmoil bound thoughts Caressed by the ribbons soft touch Written in spider script, so faint but real "Perhaps our paths will cross again..." |

Last call tonight, last call tonight,
Then lock the door, turn off the light, Walk away from this deadened dream, To start another, or so it seems. This chapter now will come to a close, Where the next one starts, God only knows, But always remember, and never forget, The people you touched, the people you've met. So depart, now depart, But don't worry, take heart, For as you keep us close to you, We'll think fondly of you, too. Good luck on your journeys, but above all of that, Pursue this newest dream, and don't ever look back.

The end of me
Now you’ve done it, World,
Now you’ve done it, Life I’ve had enough I’ve gone through it all I take the hits and the blows Pain and hardships are all I know I’ve suffered enough And I’ve picked up a knife Well I don’t care anymore Daemons release me Dark angels hold me Keep me company as I wait For entrance to the Pearly Gates Or the Dark ones I don’t care, not at all I’m used to pain anyway But here I’m not taking it anymore Fuck it all And fuck you, Life I’m tired of these days The pain and the unfairness And was harshest ways Of walking this existence But there’s no more point And asking to stop fucking hurting But I’ve figured it out It doesn’t seem so bad Open the dimension rift Or take it the bloody way They all attack me Take it out on the one that cares She bounces back Do what you all like, eh? Or the ones that try They deserve better But it’s a shame Everything else rips it away It ain’t so bad But it’s bad enough Now I’ll take care of it I’ve found a way out The cries and the hurts The loneliness and the hate The betrayal and the lies The mistreatment and all Not again, not any more… Happiness has been that of others But the limit has been reached The outer walls breached From now on it’s not happening The demons in the dimensions of scheming and dark dreaming House me as I lift up that knife I don’t need anyone to hurt me Or throw me around, battered and rejected The only pain I'll receive is by me From now it’ll be self inflicted |
