Ignoring the other RP plans I have been making for a long time, I wanted to try this one out, inspired by a book I read recently... (loosely based on.) Since recently I've been into sci-fi.

NOTE: This RP is going to be a bit different and outlandish, since it is very sci-fi, a lot more than you would expect to see from me. Be prepared for some crazy plot, and twists that will make you have to think creatively for your own character, and for the record, no, I don't really care that much about the technical science of it all. Keep all of this in mind as you read and before you sign up.

The Story:
The year is 2011. Earth is prospiring nicely, only one problem: Scientists have detected a 76-mile wide asteroid, 12 times bigger than the asteroid believed to have killed the dinosaurs, on a crash course with the Earth with no way to destroy or divert it in time. Keeping this hidden from the public, a spaceship was made, complete with 80 pods; each pod was made with the lastest cryogenics known to man; and 80 humans were going to be shot into space in a last-ditch effort to preserve the species. The original intent was to find a group of 80 people, all smart, with different backgrounds so they could preserve as much diversity as they could, but it was becoming clear: They were running out of time. So the 80 spots were given out to random families who were willing to try and escape, NASA workers and their families, some important government workers and their families, some of them friends of people who worked at NASA, or people that NASA felt they owed. They mostly tried to find functional families with a variety of ages in them, while staying away from anyone too young or too old, while other spots were given to people through bribary. So in the end 78 normal people, and two space captains would be given a spot on the "Mayflower", and put to sleep in the cryogenic chambers, which has over 70% chance of failing and killing the people in them anyway, and would be shot into space, hoping they would land on a planet capable of supporting life.... and this was mankind's last hope.


Somehow you were one of the 80 chosen...

Rules for making characters/Character Notes:
1. Generally stay within the ages 10-40 (I don't think there will be a big problem with this) And make them generally healthy people.
2. You are normal people. (for now anyway... mua ha ha)
3. Somehow you got a spot on The Mayflower, (such as, your parents work at Nasa or you have a friend from Nasa, or your parents used connections... figure out some way that you would get a spot. (normally would be sent with family too, but there are exceptions).) Bribary works, but money would be of little use with only 4 days left.
4. If you got a spot, chances are, your family will get a spot as well, or at least your guardian, unless something where they are sending you alone. If your characters family is being sent along, but you just want to control your character, or your character and his/her brother, please specify which ones. (and have at least a mini-bio for any minor characters you will control)
5. Chances are our characters won't know each other before they all board the ship together.
6. Not everyone's character will have been loners, they are going to lose loved ones. This is the end of the world. It's going to change your character emotionally, keep this in mind.
7. The FBI is watching you to make sure you don't leak the story to other people or the public (since once the public knows, there will be riots, endagering The Mayflower's mission.)

Name: Kaitlyn Haile
Gender: Female

Appearance: the girl in http://www.alicelandia.it/manga/Mars/kira_rei12.jpeg but shes ewaring a hoodie and jeans instead. (I may draw it later.)
Possessions: A silver necklace with a small picture of her friends in it
Bio: Kaitlyn is the daughter of a big news producer. When a family friend from NASA broke down and told her father about what was happening, he used that knowlege as blackmail to get three spots on The Mayflower for him, his wife, and Kaitlyn, threatening to release the story and cause worldwide panic. Kaitlyn has been trying at least to inform her friends about what is going on, but only manages to be able to tell them a final goodbye. She is being kept in her house, awaiting for the time when the black vans will come for her and her family to take them to the blast-off point.
Personality: She is a kind hearted girl who hates to see anything suffer and the thought of the end of the world is tearing her apart. Sometimes it's all she can do to keep it together.


FINAL NOTE (please read): During parts of the RP, (such as after we finish riding in the ship,) we will have the chance of getting mutated, where I will use a random system to choose what happens to each character. So you have a chance at one minute having a healthy and fine character, to having a blind character, or something like that. Generally there will be good and bad points to each mutation, but mostly it's how you use your characters' mutations. Every character will go through the same randomized selector so my character will have just as much of a chance to get a negative mutation as any other character. There is a chance your character will come out normal and then maybe later the mutations will take effect, or, if you're lucky, you'll be normal for the entire RP. I just wanted to let everyone know this before I made someone's character blind, while another one could... say, shoot lazers out of their eyes, and then they freak out because I ruined their character, or it's not fair or anything like that. I'm going to try and make it pretty fair while still giving room to be pretty random.

[Truce]

Name: Henry Altec
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Possessions: A wallet, plus a notepad and pen.
Bio: His father was a rich man, and with his money he made large donations to many projects and organizations-such as Nasa. In the public's eye, he was a giving and generous man, praised by many people for his acts of goodwill. However, he was never around when Henry was growing up; there was always another more important place to be.
Then, all of a sudden, his father suddenly seemed to be around more. Henry didn't know why, but he didn't complain-he actually got to see hid dad, afterall. What Henry didn't know was that Luke had heard about the asteroid and could only manage to reserve one seat on the spaceship-for Henry.
In these last few days, while spending family bonding time with his dad, he'll be kept in the dark until the very last moment.
Personality: Somewhat bitter, somewhat sweet, somewhat angry, and somewhat happy, you can't tie his personality down to simply one emotion. For the most part, he takes life as it is given to him, and reacts accordingly.

Bio: Olivia Mason is the daughter of the current president of the United States, and given the power of the president, her placement on the Mayflower was decided while it was still being constructed. While it would be assumed that her family would be joining her on this flight, them being the president and his wife, they have bravely decided against going, instead intent on leading the nation up to the very end. Instead, Olivia is to be sent up with a hand-picked bodyguard, Claire Williams. Olivia and Claire have always been close since she was assigned to her and Olivia would want no other at her side to keep her safe.
Personality: Olivia has a no-nonsense attitude and has been a pillar of support for her father during both his first and second terms as president with her encouragement and faith. If anything will break her heart, it's seeing the place where her family lives destroyed.

Bio: Claire has been Olivia's personal bodyguard for five years and doesn't intend to stop protecting her anytime soon. Handpicked for the task of guarding Olivia's life by the president himself, Claire knows that she was chosen more for the fact that she was a young woman who Olivia could relate to. Not much to her surprise, the two have indeed become good friends, but it didn't take long for Claire to learn that Olivia really counted on her protection as well. To this day, the two have been quite inseparable. While there were plenty of better fighters to send along with Olivia, Olivia practically demanded that it would be Claire who would go with her.
Personality: Claire is quite the lady and speaks properly, always with respect. She has a strong heart and doesn't take things too personally, and if there's a true personality behind her professionalism, Olivia is the only one she shows it to.

[Shadow Otenaki]

Name: Taiki Fujiwara
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Possessions: The clothes on his body and a lucky pencil.
Bio: His family wasn't all that rich, but he was an upcoming author that was scheduled to debut till he received a letter announcing the end of the world, and that he was chosen as one of the eighty people to board on the new 'Mayflower'. This gave him reason to be angry that the world couldn't read his book. He was selected because of his wise and open mind, and was given the duty to be a 'mediator' or 'sage' so to speak. Where he would try and stop everyone's panic attacks by trying to make them feel better.
Personality: He usually keeps to himself mostly, but when the time calls for it, he's a great advice giver and listens to everyone's problems.
Appearance: Green eyes. 6'0 tall. Dark Brown hair. 170 lbs. Pale-ish skintone. Usually wears dark pants with a light colored shirt.

[Dante]

Name: Daniel Tay

Gender: Male

Age: 27

Possessions: His backpack, a sketchbook and a pen.

Bioan was in the know about what would happen to the world. But unlike most people, he wanted to stay and meet the end with his wife Jasmine, and their two children. Unfortunately, NASA required several key personnel on board during the Mayflower mission - and one of the positions thathad to be filled was that of biological researcher. Before the idea of escaping with his family could occur to him, he was placed under virtual arrest at Cape Canaveral, where he spends every waking moment with his family, hating and fearing the day of the launch.

And while he tried to get his family on the mayflower as well, he was told that no more places were available, because so many others had taken friends and family along with them. As a result, he will react very negatively to anyone who talks about "how lucky they were that they could find a space for their <insert name here>"

Personality: Quiet, bitter, likes to draw and write in his sketchbook. While he enjoys singing, he rarely does it nowadays. Currently, he is too lost in the knowledge that he is going to be separated from his family to contribute effectively to the group - however, if he ever gets himself together, he was trained as a combat medic and might be helpful in that capacity.

Appearance: A young Asian man of average height and build, wearing a T-shirt and jeans with a pair of sensible boots.

[Nathano]

Name: Kay Smith
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Appearance: 5'10", close cut brown hair, brown eyes, tan skin, flying dragon tattoo on left shoulder(squads emblem), black and grey camo pants, black t-shirt, combat vest, military issue boots.
Possessions: dogtags, combat knife and sheath(attached to vest), lighter, compass, penlight, candybars.
Bio:raised in an orphanage, Kay grew up without knowledge of his parents. Another of the orphans, Amy Jones, became Kays best friend. As they grew up they became closer. When they were older, Amy went on to work at NASA and Kay joined the army. Quickly advancing in rank, he became the armys #1 sniper. When word of the asteroid came, Amy was given two spaces, one for her and one for an associate of her choice, due to her skill with electronics. There was no one she would of rather had then Kay so she brought him along. They now wait for the day when the ship will be launched.
Personality: calm and collected due to sniper training, Kay is able to stay focused in crises situations.

Ecurt- Everyone looks okay.

Armored Bishoujo- Are you going to be controlling her body guard as well? If so, could you make just a short little bio for him. Otherwise, it looks good.

Shadow Otenaki- The only problem I have is this:

till the announcement of the end of the world.

There isn't going to be any normal public knowlege of the end of the world until it is too late to board the ship, since if everyone knew about it in advance, there would be massive histeria and millions of people trying to stowaway on the ship, which would pretty much ruin man-kind's chance for survival. Everything else is okay, just change it so he found out secretly, or something like that. ^^

Dante- They were more picking people at random at this point, since they were running out of time. So they wouldn't have cared too much if he gave a ticket to his wife or something like that. you could have them all get tickets and come along with him, and if you don't want to control them, they can die during the hybernation period. that's just my little nitpicky thing. ^^ heh. Or if you don't want them to come along, you could say that the children were too young to go (since really young children would most likely not survive the trip) and your wife refused to leave. Or something like that. EDIT: or, if he specialized in something, he could have been forced to go to help with the ship or help with their survival once they landed or something like that.

Nathano- That sounds pretty good.

So basically just a few nitpicky things that won't really matter after they get off of earth, but I would appreciate it if you guys would try to edit it. If you're stuck for ideas, I can help give some.

[Inbred Chocobo]

Name: Razma Vailer
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Possessions: a pocket knife, wallet with a picture of his dead parents.
Bio: Razma's parents died when he was about 5 years old. They got in a car wreck, and his dad was killed instantly. His mom suffered from a devastating wound and died a few days later. His dad's brother, Jacob, took Razma in. Jacob worked in Nasa and usually was the one that cordinated launches, and as Razma grew older, he decided to teach him what he knew. When the Mayflower project started, Jacob got Razma a spot immediatly, convincing them that incase of a failure, he would have taught Razma enough to know what to do. So the last few weeks before launch have been mosty spent teaching him the scimatics of the ship. Along with such as to what can be salavaged from the ship once it lands and such.
Personality: He is very-smart, though he doesn't take kind to oppresive athourity.
Extra: The pocket knife he carries came from a friend that is currently in A-school. So he couldn't bring him along in the Mayflower.

[Toastburner B]

Name: Raynard Downing (goes by Ray)
Gender: Male
Age: 34
Possessions: Wallet, harmonica, a pack of gum, a pair of sunglasses.

Build: A little on the heavy side, but generally in shape.

Bio: Ray wasn't even suppose to be going on the Mayflower. And he was okay with that.

Raynard was the bodyguard of a high-ranking government worker who was suppose to go on Mayflower with his family. Raynard had no family of his own, and was close to the Congressman Demmington and his family. Demmington was a strong supporter of NASA in congress, and so was one of the few government officals offered a spot on the ship. Raynard was to see him and his family to the launch site of the Mayflower safely, and then planned on living out the rest of his days at his cabin in the mountains, far away from whatever panic the news would cause.

But Fate seemed to have different ideas.

The congressmen and his wife died in a car accident days before they were suppose to leave to board the Mayflower. Their daughter, Sarah Marie Demmington, 11 years old, would of been denied boarding on the Mayflower if no one claimed to be her guardian.

Raynard, with a deep feeling of loyalty for his employer, stepped up and claimed Sarah as dependant and boarded the Mayflower with her.

Personality: Ray is a nice guy...very protective of his friends, and, especially, Sarah. Since the only people he could of called family died in the car accident, Ray seems somewhat withdrawn. He cared deeply about Sarah, who he now sees as a daughter, and will do anything to make sure she's okay. Ray is pretty good with his harmonica, and has taken to playing melancholy songs as of late. He's a good man at heart, but wonder if he's worth saving. Surely others on Earth are more deserving of life then him...

Sarah Marie Demmington
Age: 11
Light brow hair, blue eyes.
Bio: Once a standard, fun loving kid, Sarah has withdrawn since the death of her parents. The only grown-up she trusts is Ray, who has been with the family a long time. She'll never been far away from him. Underneath, the old Sarah still exists, but it will take time for the girl to get over the lost of her parents, her friends...everything she ever knew.

Name: Amit Jahani

Gender: Male

Age: 37

Possesions: Whistle, Pocket Knife, Survival Guide

Biography: Raj carries with him the possesions mentioned because he used to be in the army before the Mayflower project. He has been through a couple of battles and has had a few friends die in fighting. He is single and doesnt have a family due to the fact that he wouldnt have been able to handle the thought of him dying and leaving his family to fend for themselves. in this mindset, he had strayed away from having a family. although the government stated that he was chosen randomly out of the other candidates in his providence, he believes that they were atleast somewhat leaning towards him. This is because he had once led a plan to save a NASA employee that was kidnapped by terrorists. he succeded in this mission, if you wanted to know.

Apperance: at 6'5 Raj stand quite tall next to his friends and neighbours. he has somewhat light brown skin. he also has black hair, even though you probably wouldnt be able to tell because he doesnt have that much hair. he has these kinds of traits because his ancestors were indian. also, he has a scar right around his right eye.

Personality:Seeing as how he has been an army soldier for most of his life, he shows almost no emotion. he always try to keep a happy face and mood with him at all times. he mostly is a loner and keeps to himself. he is brave and has good leadership skills. though, with some people, he tends to be a tiny bit shy.
