I got a question for ya...
Alright, chances are this has been discussed before and I missed it, or maybe it's common knowledge, but I know just a little more than jack squat about Final Fantasy. The only one I've played is FFVII. Now, in FFVII there are two characters at the beginning: Biggs and Wedge.
Biggs and Wedge are Luke Skywalker's wingmates when he flew down the Death Star trench. QUESTION: Coincidence, or is one of the franchises alluding to the other? Ok go.

Biggs and Wedge are in every Final Fantasy, arnt they? oh and they make an apperance in Chrono Trigger. i think the people who made the FF series are, *gasp* nerds, and just wanted to make a Starwars reference.

I think Johnny Socko may be right on how they make a very small cameo in many FF's. I can't seem to remember where they came in at in FFVII. I do know they were at the beginning of FFVI piloting some trendy MagiTeck Armor.
And now that I think about it. Biggs and Wedge were also reoccuring lackeys in FFVIII.

Biggs and Wedge are just reoccuring things in Final Fantasy, like use of the name Cid. Chocobos, and a few other things. Its just things that add nostalgia to the Final Fantasy games. maybe not even nostalgia..but its just something you'll recognize and say "Hey, this is the new incarnation of them. Although I could swear it was Vicks and Wedge..

Nope, it's Biggs and Wedge. And I can only remember them in three of the FF (FFVI, FFVII, and FFVIII).

In the original US release of FF3, it was Vicks instead of Biggs. I can't remember if they changed that in Anthologies or not.

I don't remember who they were in FF4 or FF1, In FF6, they were the magitek (and one was vicks on the cartridge, but that was a translation error thing), in FF7... uh, I don't really remember either, I think they were either some of the shinra guards near the base of the tower or were in cloud's flashback in the beginning, eh, FF8 they were the returning lackeys you kept beating up, FF9 Can't remember again (need to replay some of these games apparently... my encyclopedic knowledge is slipping), and in FFX they were a pair of blitzball stadium guards (and you could scout them as players too).
And yah, they're in every FF game, same as Cid.
