Default Max Payne 3?!

Will it ever be made? Would you like to play it? I myself am a big fan of the games. Max Payne 2 was such a thoroughly engaging game that I can't understand the series not being revisited. And I played the PS2 version, the PC version is supposed to be about as close to perfect as possible!

It was confirmed TWO YEARS AGO:
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/ma...s_6091123.html

What do you guys think? Never going to happen or just close kin of Duke Nukem Forever? Next-gen possibilities? Maybe they wrote themselves into a corner, giving Max Payne nothing left to live for? (though you could prevent a certain someone's death by beating Max Payne 2 on the hardest difficulty, I'm sure that canonically, she's dead as a doornail) But c'mon! That's not Max Payne! The man could be diagnosed with terminal cancer and lose both his legs and he'd still manage to mete out vigilante justice in a long and grueling strategic third-person action game! He'd just have to shootdodge in a wheelchair!

Anyway, does anyone hope they'll make it or hope they'll not make it?

Damn, different developer? That's messed up. They lost the game. I dunno what you can find to talk about with Payne in his trilogy ending final game.

Didn't the devs go on to develop Alan Wake, which is sorta like Max Payne, in the fact that it's totally differant.

They had the thing "Max Payne's walk through darkness is not over. He will return," or something, written at the end of Max Payne 2, which was a terrific success.

My guess? They played FEAR, and said, "Wow, why would we bother making anything like this?"

Alan Wake seems like it's something like Silent Hill, more of a survival horror than an action game. But the way it's done (the inner monologues in real time as you go through the game, the dream sequences) is very similar to Max Payne.

I think Max Payne 3 is probably in the pipe-line but won't be even touched until after this Alan Wake gets done. And yeah, I heard Max Payne 2 was successful, but apparently not with enough people? I mean, there are oodles of sites dedicated to modding the PC version, so it must be at least popular even if it wasn't sold to 4 million people. Maybe they were expecting Grand Theft Auto numbers or something. That and maybe the PS2 version didn't sell very well because of how superior the PC version was. But I just can't follow the logic of that article saying it didn't sell well, just because it didn't sell as well as they hoped it would sell didn't mean it didn't sell well.

Are you saying FEAR was so good that they woudn't want to make another game since it wouldn't be successful, or that it was so bad it ruined the whole genre? (I think I've heard FEAR is a really good game, so I'll assume the former) I should play FEAR, my PC is probably good enough for it now...
