Did you PWii-order?
Lol, so the Wii went on pre-order. And since I was forced to take Friday off and work on Saturday this week, I decided to get up at the bright and early hour of 8 am and go try to reserve it. Glad I got there first in line because when the store opened 2 hours later...I found out there was only 8 of them able to be reserved.
So who else reserved it? And did anyone actually reserve it with anything besides Zelda?

I didn't get up in time (the first people at the store were there at 5 am), so campout for me!
Eh, I wasn't really counting on the reserve to pan out anyway. And I love camping out for consoles. You get to meet people who love video games as much as you do and hang out for a few hours. And then you get a new video game system when it's over. |

I didn't reserve one though. I went to my little private hole-in-the-wall to pick up some cards.

I TRIED to.
I went to EBgames to try to get a spot... there were maybe 30 or 40 people. The manager later came out, counted us, and said there'd be enough for most people in the line (specifically, by the count, for five people past where I was in line). The problem? Apparently they were ignoring the "only one per household" rule, because scalpers up front bought several. The result? The guy in front of me got the very last pre-order. I waited an hour to get screwed by scalpers and bad management. I have... contingency plans for the launch. I'll just leave it at that.

Sweet thing is I know some of the dudes over at my little place. They keep tons of cards in this box, and if you ask nice they will build a deck any cards you want Magic, Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh or any other god awful card game even though most of the time it's Yu-gi-oh or magic that is requested. They do good work. EDIT: Spelling and grammer errors.

I have yet to pre-order anything, though this might be the first console I buy at launch. I'll probably still end up just waiting until they're down to $150 or something and have a huge library, though. Choices, choices.

Something about this whole "runnning out of preorders" thing strikes me as odd. I mean, Nintendo has said that North America will be getting, what, 2 or 4 million units? It hasn't been advertised on normal outlets (unless I'm just missing the TV and magazine ads). And it's a Nintendo console. When has there ever been a mad clamoring for a Nintendo console?
So, yeah, this seems a bit fishy.
