Tydeus will become famous soon enough. Eventually. Maybe.
Default WoW -- Goddamnit, why don't I own this game?

Every time I visit my uncle (like I just did for Giftmas), I play my Undead mage character, which I have on his account (he's got a level 60 Night-elf priest. Priestess? I guess?). And then for the next month or so, I yearn, with a burning passion, for WoW. And, until recently, I would also kick myself for selling my PC to buy a 360. But now at least I don't do that anymore (GoW).

Anyway, I've got a POS G4 mac, and I was wondering if anyone had personal experience with running WoW on, say, an 800MHz G4 Mac with 512MB of RAM and a graphics card with a mere 64MB of memory (I can't even remember the fucking chipset -- just be assured that it's crap).

Would I be too frustrated to play on such a marginally operational bucket of bolts, or would I not care, becuase it's fucking WoW?

...You sold your computer for an Xbox 360? I don't see the logic in this... The PC can be upgradable, it's videogames are of a wider variety than any console (i.e.: RTS's, because honestly, has any console done an incredible job with that?) and you sold it for an Xbox 360? Well... at least you a a mac.
*snicker*

Enough ranting from me, lest I derail this thread. Anywho, have you tried the 'computer help' thread? I know this thread might be more suited for the videogame area, but the people that post in the 'computer help' seem to know a $h!tload about this sort of thing.

Were you typing with your Wii?

Double pun baby.

As for the WoW dillemma, are we talking Dell Mass Produced style of computer? Have you run any games on it before? It'd be worth it just to borrow your uncle's CDs and install and run the account on your computer just to see if it'll work.

Or you could just not worry about any of that bullshit and find out online.

Your RAM's probably fine, the other stuff is worrying, but I'm no expert on how MACs run. As FBM said Computer Help's your best option.

From personal experience one way will generally result in fucked up capitalisation and an overzealous word guessing program, the other hurts like hell if you don't watch those corners.

I only wonder if this counts as a compliment or an insult.

I also wonder if this counts as one of those "It's all about Fifthfiend!" threads.

I have an e-mac G-4. The computer handles Wow just fine. And I only had 256 mb of ram when I played. You may have to turn down graphics, but Blizzard did pretty well for making the game accessible.

Just make sure you have a fast enough internet connection or you will want to break something everytime you enter a city.

As for liking it or not, I played it on a dial-up internet connection and it was awesome still...that either means that it's a kick-a game or I'm just a freakin' addict.

Ah, thank you! This is exactly the information I was looking for!

I would like to know though -- what are your exact system specs? Especially with regard to your processor speed. That would be totally awesome to know.

As to FBM -- I sold my PC because it was crap, and I would have had to totally overhaul the whole thing to play any games that approach the very idea of "edge" let alone of the cutting-, or bleeding- varieties. It was far, far cheaper to just get a 360, especially since I won't need to upgrade at all for the next five or six years, and also my parents paid for half. So, I got to play Oblivion on a machine that only cost me $250. That's why I got a 360. And GoW. God yes, GoW.

As to Mirai -- I know what the minimum/recommended system requirements are for WoW. That was the first thing I looked up. Who do you think I am? Jack Thompson? I've actually played video games before. :p I just wanted to know if the "minimum" system requirements were a load of crap, and if so, in which way? Apparently, if dnacnud is playing on an eMac, then the minimum requirements are probably rather high -- they tend to do that on Macs, for some reason.
