So how do I update my PC's RAM?
My PC is a windows ME with 800MHZ of RAM and a Pentium III processor. I've been thinking of upgrading it but considering my money is very low I figured I'd just worry about the RAM and Hard Drive Space for now. So How do you upgrade your RAM? Do you have to replace the mother board? Is it safe to run an OS as old as ME on a higher RAM? (Shouldn't really be any problems there to my knowledge)

Your OS is fine.
There is the obvious risk that your computer will not be compatible with any RAM on the market today. My Knowledge no longer extends to .8GHz computers. I would advise biting the bullet and saving your money to purchase a new tower, as a reasonable upgrade can be found for $300 rather easily, Rather then spending $50 or more on RAM now. [Especially considering any RAM you find for your system now will likely be either ancient and super cheap, or ancient and expensive cause nobody else has the shit.] |

I'd concur with Nikose. You could stretch the life of this one a bit more, I guess, but saving for a cheap tower would be infinitely better.

Alright then, thank you Nik and MasterOfMagic for clearing that up for me.
I probably just wing it a little longer, save up, and by a new tower.

Glad you're taking my advice. When the time comes, we can point you towards budget towers. You are, conveniently, in the "Everything is an upgrade" category.

since I've yet to see 800 MB/GB of RAM in a setup
Just a point I'd like clarified:
What is meant by "800 MHz of RAM"? That you actually have something like PC-800 running at effectively 800 MHz? How much in terms of size? Or is that your Pentium III's speed? Still, I very much agree the most economical thing to do is to spend a little bit for a current desktop. Nearly all of them should be a significant step up for you.
