So, I see the President, and the first one I think of is Roosevelt, but Forrestal mentions the Cold War.
So, well, I'm confused. But I'm also excited for new online Atomic Robo.

We'll have to do this the hard way.

It's probably Truman, the year being 1947. But yes, digital Robo!

Yes, and the "Cold War" started in 1947.

Of course it's Truman. Don't you recognize his face?
Crackling dialogue, Brian, judicious research obviously went into this, and at least for me it convincingly reflects the power dynamics between the US and the USSR at the beginning of the Cold War. The whole range of IR political stances- from a grim Kennan-style idealogue to Truman's pragmatism to the whiff of political idealism in Robo are represented here. The art really helps. I don't read Atomic Robo but this sample is for me the best of your work on this site. (By contrast, the dialogue in the Yonkers Devil made me sad). |

As much research went into this piece as any historical issue of Robo, I just had more excuses than usual to show the fruits of that research in this piece.
Yonker's Devil dialog is meant to be dumb. The young man is based on Zack Finfrock/Emerson Wild who is so inept that it rubs off on Robo I'm glad you liked this one though. It was very enjoyable to write.
