Default "Did you know that dolphins are just gay sharks?" -or- let's talk about GLEE

This is now your one-stop shop for discussing the best show on television that guarantees a minimum of four musical numbers per episode.

First order of business: Sue Sylvester is spectacular, less a person than a force of nature, like if you rolled every character from 300 and Arnold Schwarzenneger from Conan the Barbarian into one character and then made it coach high school cheerleading.

Hey, it's that show I watch that's not called LOST.

I really enjoyed the show before the break, but for some reason the last couple episodes haven't done much for me. I keep hoping the show will be about more than random soap opera love triangles...but no, it just keeps coming back to boring-as-hell love triangles.

Honestly the most chemistry I've seen in a couple on this show is between Curt and Finn, and I'm pretty sure that's not something the show is consciously intending, but more a sign that all the other standard heterosexual relationships are so eye-bogglingly boring that I find myself hoping Finn arbitrarily discovers he's gay because at least that'd be unexpected and exciting. One more Finn and Rachel sequence and I swear, man, I swear.

I watched some episodes but soooo much internal monologues to explain every little thing- which should be done by acting (classic show don't tell). Unless maybe I missed the point somewhere?

I completely agree with this post.

I did not like the Madonna episode. It just felt like too much, and the only song I felt properly worked was 'Like A Virgin'. I do like looking at Quinn though. She needs more scenes.

Also is it sad that I looked at the thread title, saw the first half up until the word dolphins and still guessed that this was about glee?

Quinn's had more character development than pretty much everyone else in the show already. That's probably why she's getting so few scenes, I like her myself, but I think it's a good thing that they're trying to give other characters a bit of scene time. She was pretty important in the first season, might as well give some of the other characters a chance.

I liked the latest episode for basically the same reason. It allowed some of the action to move off Finn, Rachel and Mr. Schuester - who are pretty much the main characters - and onto some of the second string, who could all really use some extra scene time. Also had a little development with the villain, and Sue Sylvester's always worth watching.

But, I admit, by the end of the episode, I thought they might have squeezed in a few too many songs. Still, it's probably my favorite episode to date.

Anyway, I like the show myself. Didn't think I would really, not when I first heard the concept (I mean, really, a musical sit-com? That's just weird.) but I've seen every episode now, and have to say, the show's pretty well done. I haven't seen much that compares to it on TV right now either.
