Now, before you call me crazy, mosey on over to the interest thread to find out just how much this isn?t my fault. Blame Teal?and Krylo?and well?pretty everyone who posted after post #21.

Anyways?

THE SITUATION SO FAR (aka: The Plot!)

The prophesy of the Mother of Hell is one of the oldest known to man: She is destined to give birth to one who has power over the Gates of Hell. Should the child choose to open the Gates, the demonic hordes will pour out in the full strength, almost guaranteeing the end of the world. Should the child choose to close the Gates forever, demons will never be a blight in the world of man again.

As you might imagine, this makes the Mother of Hell (aka: The Chosen?depending on who you ask) into a target for both demons and the humans who fight them. The prophesy has been around for centuries, and dozens of women have been marked as the Mother of Hell?and not one has ever given birth. Most don?t even survive into their twenties.

And now, in the modern day, the tragedy of the Mother of Hell unfolds again.

The Mother of Hell has been placed under the protection of Duncan McCragge, an independently wealth man who also happens to be a psychic with the power to control electricity. Duncan?s wealth, as well as the fact that the McCragge family has long fought against supernatural creatures, made him a favorable legal guardian for the young Mother of Hell. Along with Duncan, a cabal of Protectors had been recruited from the ranks of various anti-supernatural agencies and groups, including the Supernatural Elimination and Containment Agency, the US Government?s black-ops organization created to deal with the monsters, demons, and the like. Under the united care of these groups, the Mother of Hell lived a surprisingly quite life.

In recent days, however, things have begun to unravel. Despite all precautions, it has become clear that demonic forces are starting to close on the Mother of Hell. Taylorsville, where the girl was living, has seen a spike in demonic activities?the highest on record, including a mass possession at the school the Mother of Hell was attending. Local SECA forces, even with help from the other organizations, are hard pressed to push back the influx while both maintaining secrecy and protecting the Mother of Hell.

Realistically, it is only a matter of time before SECA can no longer offer their protection to the girl. Should this happen, the SECA directive will be to terminate the Mother of Hell: take one life to guarantee the lives of billions.

Duncan McCragge has seen this coming, and is starting to plan the Mother of Hell?s escape. But he knows that he and the handful of Protectors who will remain loyal don?t have a chance against the cultists and demons who are already closing in, let alone when SECA and other organizations start to send kill-teams after them.

Fortunately?Duncan is independently wealthy, and his assets haven?t been frozen yet. And Big Bad Wolf Limited, a high powered mercenary private security company that happens to specialize in?unusual situations, is more than happy to take those assets in return for doing the impossible.

The Character Groups

The Protectors: This is possibly the low point for the Protectors. The last few weeks have almost literally been hell on Earth as the demonic forces and their cultist lackeys have slowly been closing in on the Mother of Hell. A goodly number of Protectors have been hurt or killing in the line of duty. To make matters worst, almost all the major organizations have pulled out their people out of the Protectors, and it is only a matter of time before the rest do.

At this point, the only Protectors left on board are those who are in it to the bitter, soul crushing end. Your support networks are gone, but Duncan has done a good job of stocking up, so you are not in want of supplies. At this point, you are also highly experienced in demon fighting: those mercenaries may have shiny, custom toys, but you know how to drop a demon at ten paces with nothing but a shotgun.

Big Bad Wolf Limited: The premiere private anti-supernatural company in the world (despite what those hacks at Sheepdog Incorporated say). Picking up recruits from militaries, anti-monster groups, and various other sources from around the world, Big Bad Wolf Limited has rightfully earned the reputation of being able to handle any situation?as long as the pay is right. They are a professional outfit: once the fee is paid, the Wolves are loyal until the job is done.

If you chose to be a Big Bad Wolf, you are a mercenary who hops from one supernatural hotspot to another?but what are a few nightmares to pulling in a percentage of multi-million dollar deals? Demonic activity is relatively rare nowadays, so those Protectors who you?ve been hired to come in and save think they are better at killing them. On the other hand, most of their stuff is government issue?can you say ?lowest bidder?? Big Bad Wolf Limited supplies their people with custom built gear and weapons. After all why in the world would you want to kill a demon at close range with a shotgun when I can gun it down at 300 yards with a custom built anti-tank rifle that?s painted your favorite color?

Other Groups and Organizations

The Supernatural Elimination and Containment Agency: A secretive, militaristic organization of the United States. Basically, SECA is a law-enforcement agency that has a special weapons and tactics unit that could conquer small countries. Up until recently, SECA provided most of the manpower and funding for the Protectors and other operations involving the guarding of the Mother of Hell. The recent upswing in demonic activity, however, is forcing SECA to change its policy regarding the Mother of Hell?it has simply become too costly, both in money and manpower, to protect a single individual. At the moment, SECA is only phasing back it?s sponsorship of the Mother of Hell. However, everyone knows it is only a matter of time before it starts to hunt the girl. Killing one is justifiable if it means the lives of billions.

The Society of the Gifted: The Society of the Gifted (more often just called ?The Society?, is an ancient order of psychics. Members of the Society have used their special talents to fight the forces of evil for hundreds of years, and the Society is often sited as the oldest anti-supernatural organization on the face of the Earth.

The Society is a major ally of SECA, and has been willing to let the government organization run in the ?lead dog? position on the Mother of Hell situation. It, too, has come to the conclusion that, even if they continue to provide protection for the Chosen, it is only a matter of time before she is taken. However, the decision won?t go entirely unopposed: the McCragges are an old family and have many allies. However, by and large the Protectors won?t be able to count on much support, even from dissaent factions within the Society. SECA kill-teams will likely be supplemented with Society volunteers.

Sheepdog Incorporated: If not for certain factors, Sheepdog Inc could be seen as the sister company to Big Bad Wolf Ltd.

However, those ?certain factors? include the minor fact that the CEOs of the two companies hate each other?s guts.

Sheepdog Inc was founded by Bruce Albert Dorian, who, along with Louis Percy Gray and Robert Ichabod Portrait, were the founding memebers of the first major anti-supernatural private company: Protrait, Dorian, Grey, and Associates. PDG & Assoc was a highly profitable company for many years?until the company dissolved when Dorian killed Portrait and attempted to do the same to Grey to become sole owner of the company. Even the name Sheepdog is meant to be an annoyance to Grey.

Sheepdog Inc, despite its name, is a much crueler organization than Big Bad Wolf Limited. Sheepdog Inc always favors the highest bidder?even if the highest bidder happens to be the opponent of their current client. However, if you can afford to hire (and keep) Sheepdog into your employ, you get an utterly ruthless mob which will get the job done, no questions asked.

Heck, especially if no questions are asked.

It is likely that private individuals will look into hiring Sheepdog Inc once it comes to light that Big Bad Wolf Limited is now tasked with the protection of the Mother of Hell. The organizations have clashed in the past, and there is no love lost between the two.

Vigilante Hunters: The small-time groups take are almost exclusively local organizations. These range from groups of concerned citizens who hunt to keep their families safe to rednecks looking for a good time to sadists who figured out its easier to get away with torturing things that aren?t human. Armed with the knowledge they?ve uncovered in old book or online, and armed with whatever they can afford, Vigilante Hunters are often seen as the grass roots of the battle against The Other Side...whether they are better or worst than the monsters they hunt depends on the person.

Religious Organizations: Many of the major religious organizations have an anti-monster task force, a la Section XIII and the Hellsing organization from the anime/manga Hellsing. The debate rages amongst the various organizations of how so-called ?holy? abilities and relics work. Some argue that it is a specialize subsection of psionics, and that holy relics do nothing more but channel latent psychic abilities.

Their outlook on the Mother of Hell depends on the faction. Some are neutral, some for protecting her, others believe it is for the best that she dies.

You are free to make up your own religious organization if you wish?just avoid insulting other people?s religions, please.

Gameplay Stuff

Psionics: For all intents and purposes, there is no magic.

Well, that?s not true. If you?re a cultist you can trade part of your soul to a demon, and let them dwell within you in return for magic-like powers?but more often than not that ends with the demon wearing you like a badly tailored meat suit at some point.

That isn?t to say that some humans don?t have supernatural abilities. Some people are gifted with psychic powers?often called psionics.

Psychics are very specialized: that is to say that a telekinetic can move objects with his/her mind, but they cannot start fires, and visa versa Psionics also take time and effort to develop, so people who rely on psychic powers have less time to train in more mundane skills, like firearms and hand-to-hand combat. As such, psychics won?t be able to out-shoot normal gunslingers, win a hand-to-hand fight with a martial artists, or use heavy weapons any better than a normal civilian.

Demons:

Why is the Mother of Hell so important in the first place?

Because, with things as they are, demons (or most divine beings, for that matter), cannot freely move between their realm (Hell), and the human realm (Earth, for those of you not paying attention). There are ways, but outside of the Gates of Hell being opened, it takes a rather drastic event for a demonic entity to appear on the mortal plane with it?s powers fully intact.

Least Demons (Possessing spirits): The least powerful demons on Earth are those who cannot manifest themselves in any way. They can control the mind of a human for a limited time, however. While possessed, the body of the human will feel no pain, and as such will continue on even if fatally damaged. However, once the possessing spirit is cast out, or leaves of it?s own free will, the host will bear the full brunt of any damage done to his body. The first skill that the majority of monster hunters learn is to shield their minds from possessing demons, so only the unskilled are in danger of being possessed.

Lesser Demon: Lesser demons are those demons powerful enough to manifest themselves on the mortal plane, but with greatly reduced power. Often summoned by Hell Cults, lesser demons are usually what monster hunters go up against. Though more powerful than humans, any human with the right knowledge and equipment is more than a match for a lesser demon.

Lesser Demon Subtype: Demonic Hybrid: In some cases, a lesser demon has been known to make a ?pact? with a willing human. This allows the demon to use the body of the human to manifest itself, allow it to retain more of it?s power, more often than not at the price of the human?s life, for once the demon is manifests itself, the body is changed beyond repair. Demonic Hybrids are much more powerful than lesser demons since they require less of their power to remain manifest, since they draw on the lifeforce of their willing host. Hybrids are often more than a match for any single hunter.

Lesser Demon Subtype: Blood Summoned: One of the more horrific ways to summon demons is by the way of animal or human sacrifice. Depending on what was used, the demon will be more powerful (for example, a rat won?t grant too much more power, but a bull would increase it?s power quite a bit?and a human sacrifice even more). This is because the demon will use the matter of the sacrifice to manifest it?s new body. Not as powerful as the demonic hybrid, but still a threat compared to lesser demons summoned without a sacrifice.

Greater Demon: Only a handful of times in history has a greater demon been summoned successfully. To summon a greater demon, a blood ritual that requires the life of dozens, if not hundreds, of sacrifices must be performed. Due to the complexity of these rituals, they are extremely hard to plan, and even harder to keep secret. The various hunter organizations have kept the number of greater demons being summoned to a bare minimum?the last known case was in San Francisco in 1906. A number of ?natural disasters? were in fact the aftermath of a greater demon being summoned. Once summoned, a greater demon is a terrible foe indeed. While not immortal, they can take an amazing amount of punishment, and have access to magic far beyond the abilities of humans. In every known case, the demon was destroyed soon after summoning, but always at a high cost in human lives. It should be noted that, even with the complex ritual, the greater demon retains only part of his true power.

Outcasts / Fallen : The most rare case for a demon to become manifest on the mortal plane is for it be an ?outcast? demon or a ?fallen? angel. Outcasts are demons who have broken free of the thrall of a demon lord and have escaped, one way or another from the dark realms and into the mortal plane. A fallen is a divine being who has been exiled from the high planes for high crimes against the order there. Only 3 confirmed cases of this kind of demonic entity appearing exist on the record of all the organizations. The most terrifying aspect of this that these being have access to their full power, since they are physically in this plane, not just manifesting from another dimension. The power of the demon depends varies, of course. Should the Gates of Hell be opened, all demonic entities would rate in this category, having full access to their power in the mortal realm.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For those of you who are curious, Evil's Return 1, Evil's Return 2, Big Bad Wolf Limited.

Alright, I think that was enough rambling. Let?s get his mess going.

Character sheet time!

Character Name: Obvious, no?

Gender: Another category I hope is rather self-explanatory.

Age: Again, obvious, I should hope. In past Evil?s Return RPs, it was basically required that a number of Protectors be the same age as the Mother of Hell. In this case, however, that is not required. If you want to be younger, however, feel free to?as long as you are in the Protector camp.

Organization: Are you a Protector, or a Big Bad Wolf? And if you are a Protector, what was your parent agency? For the most part, feel free to make up your own organization?but I retain vote privileges.

Class: Are you a psychic? A gunslinger? A priest who specializes in the use of anti-demonic relics? You get the point.

Special Abilities: Also rather self-explanatory. If you are a psychic, say what your power is. Do you use holy relics? Say what they do. Are you a gunslinger? Say what special trick shots or whatever it is you can do.

Bio: Ah?everyone loves a good character backstory?with the keyword on that part being good. :p.

Equipment/Belonging: If you?re a gunslinger, what the heck do you sling? If you?re a relic user, what the heck is your relic? Stuff like that, along with any personal touches you want to throw in. Remember, if you are a Protector, you can only get basic military issue stuff. If you are a Big Bad Wolf, feel free to go more exotic, or even make up your own weapons. Just try to keep it modern...no lasers or plasma cannons or the like.

Notes: Like the last few pages of a video game instruction manual, no one really knows what the notes section is good for.

If you have any questions (there is a very good chance that I must of messed something up or didn't explain something well in that giant wall-o-text up there), ask it here or send me a PM.

Name: Nicholas Marentine

Gender: Male

Age: ~300

Organization: Big Bad Wolf.

Class: Living weapon

Special Abilities:

Vampirism: He's a vampire with a few centuries under his belt. He's faster and stronger than your normal person by a good amount and he's very hard to kill, only being able to be truly killed by fire, a wooden stake through the heart, sunlight, or decapitation. He also rather enjoys the taste of blood in the evening. Or morning. Or, really, just about whenever.

Street Fighting: A combination of pure violence and a mixture of various western and eastern hand to hand martial arts styles along with his vampiric celerity, fortitude, and potence makes him rather dangerous.

Minor body shifting: Comes with the vampirism. He can make his fingers more clawlike and his body more animalistic in a vague and threatening way.

Bio/Background: Nicholas was, and is a monster. The kind you tell your children about to scare them into submission.

He enjoys killing, enjoys the feel of hot blood against his flesh, and the taste of it on his lips. He enjoys seducing women and destroying homes, before killing and devouring all within them. The corruption of purity, the destruction of innocence, the joy of slaughter. These are the things he has always enjoyed.

However, times change. Security cameras were invented, swat teams, police investigators, and entire secret clandestine organizations devoted to the destruction of creatures such as him, armed with military grade, or better, equipment.

Being a free lance monster, in short, became a very dangerous proposition.

Of course, there were ways to be a monster, without attracting the attention of those organizations, or at least while keeping the appearance of being a greater asset than a liability. Big Bad Wolf Ltd. presented such an opportunity. He could be a mercenary, and get the slaughter he loved, the destruction he craved, and the blood he needed--all without angering the powers that be, so long as he stayed within the bounds of his contracts.

And he even got paid for it, and paid damn well, at that, allowing him to expand his hedonism in new and exciting ways.

Equipment/Belongings: Leather. Lots of leather. Leather Jacket, leather straps for wrapping over his head, leather gloves, leather hat, leather vest, leather pants, leather boots. He wears lots of and lots of leather because it's the only fabric sunlight doesn't penetrate in any degree. His 'gimp suit' as he 'affectionately' calls it, is necessary for any day time maneuvers, though he must be extra careful during these times as a single tear in the leather could result in losing an entire limb to the sun's flames, if not his life.

He also carries a specially made combat shotgun that it's safe to say only he, other vampires, maybe some demons, and perhaps a psychic who specialized in super strength or durability could fire without losing an arm. It is a 4 gauge monster, with a drum feed capable of holding 6 rounds, with a pistol style 'breaching' build, lacking a butt and with a mere 10" barrel. Further, every shell is packed with cube shaped rounds for maximum shot dispersal. All of this is to make up for close combat during daylight maneuvers often being prohibitively dangerous for Nicholas, and the fact that he can't aim worth shit. The gun, however, sees very rare use, as Nicholas is a very 'up close and personal' type of person.

Notes: Nick is a hedonist before and above all else. He does what he enjoys, it just so happens that a great deal of what he enjoys is killing things, but it's not the only thing he enjoys. Unfortunately, this personality can leave him occasionally a bit unreliable when it comes to specific orders. Mostly his commanders simply point him at something they want destroyed and let him go to work, as more complicated commands are often ignored.

Character Name: Duncan McCragge

Gender: Male

Age: 42

Organization: Protector, The Society of the Gifted

Class: Psychic, Electrokenetic

Special Abilities: Duncan is able to manipulate electricity within about a dozen meter radius of himself. He is also able to shoot bolts of energy from his hands. They are not as powerful as lightning of course, but they do enough damage.

Bio: For the first 18 years of his life, Duncan was raised in McCragge Manor in Scotland. For many people, being raised in a large mansion with bunch of servants sounds nice...for Duncan, it wasn't. Duncan's way of rebellion was to travel to America to oversee the property of his eccentric uncle, who had recently died. Duncan made a name for himself within American hunting circles, and when the Mother of Hell was found, Duncan was asked to be her guardian, both because he had the funds to raise her without government funding, and his house was easily defensible.

Duncan has come to the realization that his time in America is coming to an end. When SECA finally decides to kill the Mother of Hell, Duncan figures they should be out of the country by then. He plans to return to Scotland, where the Mother can live out her left under the protection of the McCragges and their allies. It won't be much of a life, but it's better than getting killed by SECA or captured by demons.

Equipment/Belonging: Duncan tends to use his psychic abilities for most purposes, and only carriers a small knife for close in defense. He tends to ware nice suits (after all, he can afford to replace them should they get too damaged to repair). He is used to having a lot of stuff, but is comfortable with the fact that he is going to have to give up most of it to get the Mother of Hell, as well as the Protectors, out of danger.

================================================== =======

Character Name: Real name unknown...goes by Whistler.

Gender: Male.

Age: Technically unknown. Whistler looks to be in his early 30s, but he claims that he has been alive for more than 1,500 years. To hear him tell it, back during the fall of a Rome, Whistler somehow was blessed/cursed with eternal youth (he's pretty sure hes not truly immortal, because he has almost died hundreds of times). It is unknown if he is really that old or just a nutter...but he has more than one person convinced that he is really 1,500+ years old.

Organization: Big Bad Wolf Limited. Whistler is one of Mr. Grey's (the BBWL CEO) oldest and most trusted employees. As such, he is trusted with the Mother of Hell contract.

Class: Jack of all trades. Whistler is extremely skilled in both ranged combat and a number of close-combat and hand-to-hand techniques. He claims that he has had a long time to pick up a lot of tricks.

Special Abilities: Perhaps the thing that convinces the most people that Whistler is as old as he claims to be is that he apparently has had training in numerous combat techniques. There is hardly a weapon he can't skillfully use (everything from swords, to flinklocks, to rocket launchers). There are very few people in few people in the world that can claim to have mad skills that Whistler has.

Bio: Whistler isn't afraid to throw around his claim that he is over a 1000 years old, but he doesn't really talk about his past unless someone asks him about it. All that is really known about him is what he has done in his time at Big Bad Wolf Limited. Whistler was one of the first people that Grey brought aboard, and in the years since then, Whistler has risen to being the de facto second in command of the company.

Whistler is hard to take serious at first, as he tends to be rather laid back, and living up to his namesake by whistling at seemingly insane moments.

Equipment/Belonging: Whistler has an eccentric collection of weapons. In his residence he as it all on display, much to envy of many museums around the world. When he goes on a mission, Whistler usually brings along some kind of hand-to-hand weapon (he favors a gladius style sword. It is a replica, but was forged with modern alloys and is rated for combat), a restored and tuned-up M1918 .30 cal Browning Automatic Rifle, two Smith & Wesson Model 500 pistols (read: .50 caliber revolvers), and, depending on the situation, an RPG-32.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Name: Patricia "Patches" Knowels

Gender: Female

Age:: 25

Organization: Big Bad Wolf Limited

Class: Driver/Mechanic

Special Abilities: Telemechanic - Patches has the psyhic power of being able to figure how to use any machine just by touching it. This makes her a naturally gifted driver, pilot, and mechanic. There isn't a machine that has been built that she can't control or use...at, least on a basic level. She can't control the machine as well as someone with more experience, but her gift also allows her to gain experience in the nuances of any given machine exponentially faster than a normal person.

Bio: Patches claims that she was born in an Amish family and ran away at the age of 10.

As many people have deduced, this is a bald-faced lie. Patricia was born and raised in a suburban, middle-class family. Really, her real complaint about her childhood is that her parents were a bit too overprotective and traditional...they didn't seem to like the idea of their daughter going into a trade like being an auto mechanic, despite her nature talent in it. It was this overprotection that incited her to sign up for the military when she was 18. Even the government was able to spot her talents, and she quickly found herself with a maintenance/support group. It was late in her fourth and last year in active duty what she was contacted by a "talent scout" from Big Bad Wolf Limited. She was promised a high pay job and access to the latest and great tech money could buy. Patricia couldn't resist that. She's worked with the company for almost 4 years, and has been with Whistler's group for the last two years.

Equipment: Patches usually travels with just her toolkit and work clothes. She carries a small pistol, but is really too afraid to fire it. Her favorite toy of the moment is a modified French VBCI infantry fighting vehicle. Patches has replaced the normal armor with with an alloy that is both lighter and strong (but twice as expensive), put in a more powerful engine, and wired up the gun turret show that she can control it remotely from the cockpit if needs be. This souped up IFV has been dubbed "The Growler", thanks to the low, almost animal growling noise the new engine makes. Since protecting the Mother of Hell is essentially one big escort mission, Patches has been allowed to take the Growler along.

Notes: The nickname "Patches" comes from her hair: it is colored in seemingly dozens of different colors in equally numerous square patches on her hair. This coloring scheme translates over to whatever machine she is working on at the moment. If it has a horrible, patchy paint job, you know it works like a dream.

Outside of a vehicle in combat, Patches is an admitted coward. She'll find a corner to hide in and keep her head down until the combat dies out. However, put her behind the wheel/stick/control panel of a vehicle, and Patches is Hell on Wheels...no pun for the current situation intended.

Character Name: Task McCragge (formerly Malben)

Gender: Male, but getting kinda creepily effeminate.

Age: 17

Organization: Protector, straight up to the end!

Class: The Demon Thief! Armed with dual blades, l33t acrobatic skills, and the occasional creepy powers!

Special Abilities: Task's access to holy relics became rather scarce to nonexistant when he became Task McCragge and has no official ties to anything anymore than the Mother of Hell and the forces that want to keep her alive in the face of the demonic alternative. However, his access to specific non-holy abilities, particularly demonic ones have increased ever since he and the parasitic demon hitching a ride on the magical seal between himself and a nameless, centuries old demon of pure rage. This understanding allows for a safer channel of the nameless's beings power, but more recently has lead to even 'safer' use of the parasite demon's powers, though much weaker, that at least don't threaten to implode reality.

IN this vein, Task has gained the ability to dissappear into shadows and re-emerge anywhere else there are shadows, by following links of darkness between shadows in a given place (he slinks into a shadow made by a bookcase, follows the shadows through dark cracks in the wall and into the unlit niches of the building, and pops out of the shadows in another shady room, or outside if it's nighttime.

Also: he is able to seemingly 'grow' his hair at length and use it as stabby tentacles. Also, when demony he doesn't wall run, he 'swims' up walls. It is creepy.

Bio: Task, an orphan, originally lived a boring thief-life before one day on a dare entered an abandoned house. Said house had recently been sealed off due to a demon summoning gone awry, but had yet to be cleaned up, the clean up taking extra precaution due to the sheer power of the demon being summoned, as it was feared a proper link was formed, a link that could reattach itself to a lifeform too easily. Long story short: Task became demon possessed, and timely efforts of a Society higher up saved his life and held the demon at bay with seals on every part of his body, and a headband relic that keeps his head clear of demonic influence. Otherwise,Task has the potential to be overcome with inhuman rage, go on a trail of destruction, before the sheer volume of demonic rage energy becomes too much for his body to handle and he explodes, and takes out a small city with him.

The Society member, knowing the hopelessness of the mother of hell's dillema, yet sympathetic to it, tasked Task with the act of using his powers and abilities to protect the Mother, as indeed with time Task proved the act of saving him a worthwhile deed. The society trained him and taught him all he knows with two instructors, and briefly gave him a life he had missed out on with an orphan.

When shit hit the fan, it became dangerous to harbor Task, who would not give up his new mission in life to protect the mother. Not wishing to turn on Task, or ask Task the impossible, the Higher up and his trainers said goodbye, and left Task on his own, not just because the threat of the Society turning on them, but because he had no further need of them anymore.

Following this, Task was adopted by the McCragge family, and is one of the mother's closest protectors. Though they all have to admit his midnight jaunts to raid the fridge are getting kinda creepy.

Lust Demon Bio: The demon that serves as the go between for Task and the Nameless Demon, a weak, parasitic demon that is both too weak to enter the human realm and too weak to fight it's way up the demonic food chain for power, merely surviving by clinging to the all powerful but immeasurably stupid Nameless Demon, and feeding off it's energy. When the link between Task and the Demon was formed, the Lust Demon capitalized upon it, and served to both strengthen it and take advantage of it, resulting in brief struggles between Task and a second personality. The Lust demon has no care for the death of the mother in hell, purely out of self preservation reasons: it's at the bottom of the barrel in the demon world, and if the demons came to Earth, it would still be at the bottom of the barrel. If it could possess Task, and this whole "mother of hell" thing came to a close, then it could live out the rest of it's existence in a vastly superior state than it is as a literal bottom feeder in hell.
As a demon new to the sensation of being human, this demon is very fond of human sensations, very particular ones. Hence, this demon is unofficially named the "lust demon."
Though not directly influencing Task for the majority of the time, Task has since been noticeably "looser" in actions and dress, and has a penchant for innuendo.

Weapons: Twin swords. Originally used more curvy blades, and even some holy relics, but they were eaten, and then exploded, and Task was never given holy relics again.

Notes: They are for what special considerations go with the game, as in it's a special edition, the game in question is only a demo, it's custom signed by some famous bloke, the disc is damaged, this isn't a retail copy, blar blar blar.

But getting back on Task: Task isn't too sure about these Wolves coming up to deal with what he considers a personal job and matter....because he's fairly sure he's done a pretty good job protecting someone who has become like a sister to him, and now these punks with all their special gear show up to replace people he'd respected before they left and or died.

Task should frequently be described as "creepy" by everyone who isn't creepy, or weird, but should also be called weird by people who are creepy and normal for eating breakfast in a crouched position on the dining table and dark encircled hands popping out of the shadows in the supply closet to grab more toilet paper.

That and that one time he was found stuck half naked, (the non naked half being a shredded sailor fuku) through the ceiling of the Mother's room, his head hanging down, complaining about something warm wet and sticky tickling his feet. The enemy responsible for this was dealt with, but Task never explained the fuku, and swiftly changes the subject when approached.

Astral Harmony will become famous soon enough. Eventually. Maybe.
Default

Character Name: Sherry Porter
Gender: Female
Age: 17 (older twin)
Organization: The Supernatural Elimination and Containment Agency
Class: Mother of Hell
Special Abilities: None
Bio: Born as the older twin sister of Cherry Porter, both daughters never got to know their parents before forces bent on using the Mother of Hell to evil ends slaughtered them both. Sherry and Cherry were saved from further tragedy and taken into the Society. Placed under the protection of SECA and the Society, Sherry remains under the direct protection of Duncan and her sister Cherry, who has undergone special training to be able to protect her sister from evil.
Equipment/Belongings: Just the clothes on her back and a halved pendant with the picture of her father.
Notes: They're both black. Don't sing the theme to Sister Sister around them unless you like open palm face slaps.

Character Name: Cherry Porter
Gender: Female
Age: 17 (younger twin)
Organization: The Supernatural Elimination and Containment Agency
Class: Human
Special Abilities: None
Bio: Cherry feels a strong responsibility towards the protection of her older sister, and has worked her body to exhaustion day in and day out in difficult training to be able to handle the difficulties of protecting the Mother of Hell. Cherry is very acrobatic and is great with various firearms (due to training, not being a black woman. Friggin' racists) and unorthodox melee weapons. She has a lean, mean frame. Some might say she's a little protective of her older sister. Neither girl has a boyfriend because Cherry scares away suitors going after either girl.
Equipment/Belongings
Cherry's Pendant: Half of a pendant with their mother in it. Sherry has the other half.
MPT-9K Submachine Guns: Cherry loves her twin submachine guns. She's a fan of rapid fire.
M16A2 Semiautomatic Rifle: Cherry feels comfortable holding the weight of this weapon in her hands.
Beretta 90-TWOs: Two handguns for dual-wielding.
Notes: Cherry has eventually settled on mastering karate. She just couldn't get good at taijutsu and kung fu.

Hopefully I wont get dragged away from the forums for a few months like the last time I played this guy!

Character Name: Airan Sicer (Eye-run Siy-s-er)

Gender: Male

Age: 21, it was his birthday a few weeks back. He didn't mention it to anyone, what with the massive demon attacks and everything...

Organization: Protector, part of the Sicer family which is pretty heavily involved in the Society

Class: Demon Hunter!

Special Abilities:
Danger sense: The Sicer line for at least the past few generations have been blessed with an inherent ?sense? which warns them of impending danger a few seconds ahead of time. Despite lacking any other psionic from the power rich blood from which he descends, Airan has honed this ability far better than anyone else possessing it currently.

Ace shot: He really is.

Quick Reload: Like many gunslingers across the ages, Airan has mastered the nonchalant, speedy gun reload. As long as he has ammo left, he's not likely to be out of action for longer than a second at worst.

Hand-to-hand: While not being good enough to last even a second against a master, all Sicer heirs are taught basic martial arts for situations where they have no other options. Not that this does much good against demons or magic slingers. Still, Airan is faster and stronger than your average human.

Bio: The Sicer family has been fighting The Dark as part of the society for centuries, and almost all heirs to the line have gone on to be at least notable demon hunters, endowing it with a reputation for strength and battle prowess. The fact that each generation has managed to survive long enough to sire the next is a testament to how well deserved this reputation is.

The current head of the family, Sir. Carlton Sicer, a remarkable demon hunter himself in his younger days, who now holds a fair amount of sway within the society, had three children. The first was the noble son, the born demon hunter, the first born, you know the type. He was named Adam, because his father thought the name fitting, and his mother had no objections. The second was also a son, who his mother, declaring it was her turn to pick a name, called Airan, a name she had picked up on her travels with Sir Sicer so long ago. The final child was a daughter, who was named Sophia by both her parents in mutual agreement (something reached by hours of research and many more hours of arguing).

As the years went on, Adam displayed a natural mastery of the psionic powers his line was famous for, and proved to be every bit the heroic demon hunter he seemed destined to be. Legends began circulating that he saved damsels in distress, villages haunted by ancient evils, and misunderstood street urchins by the boat load. Many a time was he the single deciding factor holding the tide against a deranged warlord seeking to conquer the world. And he managed it all in time for tea. All of this was an exaggeration, of course, but not by very much. He was, in every aspect, a hero.

Airan... was not so fortunate. His Psionic abilities barely manifested, and were it not for his danger sense, one of the oldest, if not that strong, powers of the Sicer line, it was as if he lacked a single drop of his famous heritage. A great deal of time was spent analysing him, seeing if there was some way to fix whatever problem had occurred, and Airan himself worked hard for years, before it was eventually given up as hopeless. In all that time, no progress was made, save for a fair amount of honing on his danger sense. Angered by his lack of progress and his parents clear disappointment with him, especially in comparison to his brother (and to a lesser extent his sister, who was displaying the same competency with psionics as her oldest brother had), Airan devoted himself to another method of fighting. Namely, he abandoned powers for technology. He began to seek out the best training he could find outside of military service in the art of gun fighting.

And to his happy surprise he found that he was good at it. Within months he was an ace shot with a pistol. A few more and he was an ace with two. And he continued to train harder and harder, until he could hit a target dead centre 90 yards away dead centre with one eye closed 4 times out of 5. He studied and gained competency with a large selection of weaponry, large and small, though he was at his best keeping it simple with his pistols. The Sicers were demon hunters, and he had ever had any intention of being something else.

And then, something tragic happened. Adam, ever the hero, gave his life in a noble strike at a powerful demon, killing it with his final breath. The memorial service was held a week later, the body sadly unrecoverable. And privately other families of the society began to talk of how weak the Sicer house had become with the loss of their main heir. Oh, it would probably rise again in a generation or two, and the girl was certainly good at what she did, if not quite the hero Adam had been, but it had certainly suffered a great loss. Very little was said of Airan, and almost none of it was positive, and more than a little through questions on his true parentage. And though they never voiced such thoughts aloud in his company, it showed in their eyes none the less.

It would not have been so bad if he didn't see the same thoughts echoed in his parents (minus the issues of who his true parents were, his mother remembered his birth damn well, and his father never questioned her loyalty). His admittedly large number of success against the dark meant little in the shadow of his brothers legacy. And so he volunteered to guard the chosen, a mission that was certain to be nearly as dangerous as hell itself, and potentially morally challenging to an extreme. He's been doing so for a few years now, pretending to be a few years younger than he actually is to be in the same classes as the chosen.
Then things went to hell. As the demon attacks intensified and his fellow protectors departed one by one, killed in the line of duty, Airan survived only by sheer determination and bloody-mindedness. If he died, he'd fail the mission, and his brother would always be better than him. Like hell he'd let that happen.
Then others started to leave, as their orders of recall came in. Airan himself received a message from his father ordering him to come home immediately the day after the first protector left. He spent an hour reading it and thinking on his course of action alone in his room, before burning the note and glaring at anyone else who decided to leave. If he left, he'd fail the mission.
Besides, he'd grown fond of the ones he was protecting. Even if he figured the Mother's sister was a crazy woman.

He has black hair and reddish-brown eyes that are easy to mistake for pure red. He generaly wears standard clothes for a teenager, though he does wear baggy clothes to hide his gunbelt in public. He knows the basics of Hand to hand combat, plus a few major weapon forms, like sword and bow staff, thingss that any demon hunter family would train in, but only the basics. He's better than a drunken bar braler, but against anyone with decent skill in combat, he's not going to do so well.

Equipment/Belonging: Guns guns, and more guns! 2 pistols strapped to his ammo belt around his waist, with one loaded backup hidden inconspicuously between his shoulder blades. On official business he carries his assault rifle on his back, and while he's fond of the thing, he usually leaves the sniper rifle at home or in the car unless it's needed. Naturally he keeps a variety of specialised ammo on him at all times for more difficult threats.

Notes: Replacing all mention of magic with Psionics is tricky work, but the character rides again!

Ho hum, what else did I miss? Oh, Airan's English, the Sicer estate's over there. His accent's rather crisp, but he trys to reign it in in public, since it draws attention.

I don't have time to OK or veto characters right now...I just wanted to pipe in that reading "Task McCragge" made me do a double take.

I got tons of ideas I've been kicking around all day, but there's one in particular that I like. I'll sign it in after I read the others.

Name: Sam McCloud

Gender: Male

Age: 36

Organization: Big Bad Wolf

Class: Combat Specialist

Special Abilities:
Werewolf: Sam is a werewolf, bitten at the age 23 and developed into some mean spirited in that aspects. He has some heightened senses and strengths during the day, about double n average human. During the night when he under goes his transformations his senses, strength and speed increase six times his normal levels. Being a werewolf he is very hard to kill. Silver bullets in the heart or brain and decapitation will kill him. He also has a drive for raw meat while a vampire and suffers from over aggression.

Close Combat Specialist: Trained by the military and then adapted further to take advantage of his increased strength and speed. Quick Reflexes and Amazing Strength combined with sword play make for a deadly warrior. His preferred method of fighting is a pistol and sword. Although when he transforms he would rather rend the enemies with his claws then anything else.

Bio/Background: Sam was an army brat. Father was a soldier, his father?s father was a soldier and so on. He grew up around bases and was given a pistol at the age 6. He was Junior Marksman of the year twice at the bases between army children. He was also skilled in hand to hand combat. Not great mind you, but enough to at least make the semi-finals in each year he entered the contests held.

When he came of age he joined the military with the hopes of continuing his families tradition. He made it through basic training as one of the top recruits and was assigned to front line infantry. He served well and distinguished for a number of years, even becoming sergeant. Then everything went wrong. His unit was performing a routine patrol when they got attacked by?something? his squad was slaughtered in no time and Sam barely lived. The thing that attacked him ran off before it could finish Sam off. After spending weeks recuperating from the attack he noticed he started to change. He became far more aggressive and was becoming stronger as well, plus is sense of smell became sharper and he could see clearer and farther then he ever could before. Then one night he transformed into a Werewolf.

Realizing his future was over he fled and looked for a place he could belong. He came across info about Big Bad Wolf and joined up, putting his new abilities to work and making sure he wasn?t overly hunted by people, as long as he followed the rules. No one really cares what happens to a corpse of an enemy after their dead after all.

Equipment: 2 Berreta 92 Pistols, 1 on right waist and 1 on right boot. 1 Katana and 1 Wakazashi, both on his left waist. 1 MP5 submachine gun should the mission require more fire power.

Character Name: Richard Miles

Gender: Male

Age: 35

Organization: SECA, Protector.

Class: Special Agent

Special Abilities:
  • Military Training: Those five years were a rather big part of his life after all. He was an Intelligence Specialist and was taught investigatory techniques, interrogation techniques, a bit of torture, as well as a bit of clerical skill. Before he had left he had basic hand to hand combat training given to everyone going boots to ground and had marksmanship ribbons in both rifle and pistol. If only because he thought it would look good on his uniform.
  • Marksman: After the incident he built up his personal skill at firearms to a far greater degree. He knows how to wield a rifle well enough but his best work is in pistols, an old habit due to the easy of sneaking around a pistol is far greater than that of other weapons.
  • Hand To Hand: On top of his military training he began working heavily in improving his abilities in hand to hand combat. He figures that having all the strength of a demon is fine, but if you can't actually hit the person it is all for naught.
  • Tactical Mind: Richard has no psychic abilities and yet has somehow survived this long as a Protector. He blames it mostly on this. He can think on his feet and try to find a way to take out enemies that might otherwise kill him. Let this be as complex as filling the air with debris so that the folks that walk through walls accidentally suffocate themselves, or as basic as driving a car into a demon the size of a small train. Either way he will try to think his way out of just about anything.
  • Undercover Agent: Richard has been trained to infiltrate. Because more often than not the best way to break up that demonic cult is to get in close and ruin every event until everyone says it is bogus and you make it look like the leader overdosed on heroin in the alley. If properly prepared he can typically fit in anywhere. Or if he happens to find someone he can knock out who wears the same size clothes as him.

Bio: To begin his real name isn't Richard Miles but -classified- born in -classified- to his parents -classified- who for the most part kept his childhood dark with constant arguments that at times came to blows as well as their general neglect of him growing up. He found that life in his family, no matter which member, shared in this strange chaos of mutual hate and passionate attachment. The longer he stared at it the more it made him sick. He needed to find a way out of chaos as soon as he could to a place where order was king.

He found it in the military.

A soldier in the -classified- branch of the US military he was sent as a job in intelligence, but rather than cracking codes and messages he was sent to crack people. He was rather good at it, reprogramming the brainwashed, interrogating the weak willed, torture of the strong willed. It was all a fine thing for him. It would seem that his calling was in the works of intelligence, and for keeping him away from his parents he planned to stay in the military a long time.

Of course then he met -classified- a strange man believed to have secrets of a strange cult that had captured and murdered a soldier in -classified-. He figured out later the S.E.C.A. had assumed this a terrorist event since there had been no sign of a demon coming forth thus far.

The strange man would prove this to be false.

Not long into the proceedings the man began speaking it what appeared to be nonsense but one of the codebreakers revealed was ancient Hebrew, he would swing about wildly and scream at him. The room would grow hot. The man would cackle loud. Suddenly he would fall silent. Then it all went to hell.

The man had been a hybrid, a slowly changing hybrid but one nonetheless. It had hurled him through the two way mirror and begun its havok on the small base. Men attempted to accost it but these soldiers had barely had any sort of conventional arms training, they were eggheads after all. Most of the men were killed, Richard barely got away at all. Saved as it was by his initial unconsciousness, the distraction of the initial attempt to constrain then kill the beast, but most of all by the arrival of the S.E.C.A.

No longer blind to the knowledge of these things he was accepted into the S.E.C.A. as an Agent, a literal man in black set with dealing with outbreaks like the one he experienced. He honed his use of guns. He learned how to use his hands better. He asked questions about how to kill them. He showed his worth in the field and so he was assigned to be a member of the Protectors.

It hasn't been long since he started, but things have gone downhill for a while. Ever since SECA officially removed their support special ordinance has been impossible to come by. To be honest the weapons he does get have been primarily for old times sake, but he has been here too long to fall out now.

He is ready to see this through to the end, even if it means losing his job.

Equipment/Belonging:
  • One Desert Eagle Mark XIX using .50 AE cartiges.
  • One CZ 75b using 9mm ammo with extended capacity magazine.
  • Pure black Ford Crown Victoria Interceptor with tinted windows.
    • In the back is a FN Scar assault rifle.

Notes: The hiring of BBW isn't exactly grand to Richard. It plays on two points of awkward really. The first being his long time involvement in SECA, which involves the sequences where he has killed, captured, or tortured non-humans. Playing along side the sort makes him itchy. The second is the whole mercenary group thing altogether. His time in the military has permanently instilled into his head that rent-a-guns don't quite measure up to someone who has something emotionally invested in the situation.
