To Disney: All Things Considered, The Lion King Is Totally Rad
This is my "all things considered."
So I'm re-watching The Lion King, and from the intro to the outro, it's still pretty awesome. Mufasa is pretty fucking awesome. But all in all, it has this spirituality, this philosophy about it.... From Rafiki to "The Spirit Of Life" ideal, this movie covers all corners and is totally awesome. Classic Disney is great. |

It is, actually. For some reason, I particularly like "Be prepared".You really don't get any villains that're so sophisticated-but-savage, in today's media. Certainly not in movies, sometimes in books. Scar was pretty good, and that song described him well.

Yeah, Lion King was pretty rad. Much better than the original....
But no, really, it was much better. The songs were actually memorable, Scar was easily one of the most recognizable Disney villains, and it spawned a few sequels that didn't suck. |

EDIT: No, really, I have cousins who are younger than Lion King. I know people who don't remember it coming out in theaters. |

"Lion King" was the first thing I said, according to my parents. It's classic; you're old.

Well, it's easy to understand why it's a classic. It is a Disney version of the Shakespeare story of Hamlet afterall.
A masterful rendition of it though, so no issues here on my side. ^^ ... The sequel happens to be similar to Romeo and Juliet... Guess there is a certain theme going on there. |
