Random movies you've watched
Thread for movies that yousee nrecentely that don't warrant a whole thread/aren't new.
Mostly cause I watched Ghost Dog last night and fuck all movies that aren't Ghost dog. It's the kind of movie the stylish violence/Tarantino crowd wish they could make. Forest Whitaker is an assasin who lives by a code of the Samurai out for revenge against a mafia family who have wronged him. There is a great sound track full of lots of different styles, innovative-speculative filmography with plenty of homages to samurai films of the past as well as more modern techniques, and a beautifully uneven sense of pacing and stilted dialogue that echoes a realistic sense of the ridiculous like Chekov would. Also if you get bored the mafia spend a lot of thier time watching old cartoons so you can watch them. E: I may be biased by my insane Jamusch love but fuck all movies that aren't Ghost Dog Last edited by Professor Smarmiarty; 08-21-2010 at 06:36 AM. |

Holy shit you guys, The Triplets of Belleville. I just watched the DVD last night. It is an absolute delight from start to finish, and anyone who says otherwise has no soul. (Also, I have to get my hands on the soundtrack somehow. It has the catchiest music.)

My favorite part of Ghost Dog is his attempts to communicate with the French(?) food cart salesman throughout.
