I'm not going to see this movie. I did read this review from jeff jarvis vis Huffington Post

The movie violates privacy, smears reputations, makes shit up -- just what the internet is accused of doing, right?

I wonder if there's some irony to be found in complaining that a movie about Mark Zuckerberg... violates privacy? Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about though. I'd be interested to see what you guys think, or if you are planning to see this.

making stuff up is 90% of all "based on a true story" movies do. What really irritates me is that most of america is stupid enough to think its an accurate protrayal of events

It might help if the people behind websites like Facebook, Napster, Google, etc. had remotely interesting enough lives to justify movies made about them.

What with the movie not being very truthful to real life though it would have made more sense to make a movie that parodies real life on this subject with fictional characters (like Wall Street does for real life stock brokers, for example) that talks about the experience of sudden fame and riches overnight from developing a successful website followed by the strife that goes with that.

There is and it is hilarious, Zuckerberg can cry himself to sleep on top of his billions-of-dollars pile of money. Lol at the article writer's 'they just don't understaaaaaaaaaand' Zuckerberg, especially followed up by 'he's ~so charming~ in real life!!!!1'.

You know what movie I wish was based on real life? 'Accepted' starring the Mac guy. If you don't wish that this movie really happened to someone then well gosh I just don't know what to tell you

In the movie version you enter a serious relationship with the girl of your dreams based on one single act of incredbily radical stuff whereas the day before she probably only knew you by some embaressing nickname like 'Skeezy' or 'Skippy' or 'Dumbass' et al. And you also rally a bunch of strangers from across the country to your causeless cause and there's a message about, uh... 'you only get one shot' and uh, 'reach for the starz, but don't actually cause thats pretty hard' um... maybe 'you're only young once so get as drunk and stupid as possible'

Man I think I just wrote the next 'American Pie' script. Quick! Somebody phone Mister Sir Reginald Eugene Levy, Esquire!!!
