Whoa, Venture Bros. owns even more than usual [SPOILERS]
This show has been amazing lately.
And by amazing I mean "24 in a gimp costume making out with Dr. Girlfriend" And by amazing I also mean "cowboy speeches" And by amazing I also mean "Nathan Fillion as Arachnid-Guy" And by amazing I mean actually pretty much everything about this amazing show.

Cowboy speeches.
I was amused by how everything in the latest episode was sort of untwisted into having mundane explanations at the last minute. |

That episode was so fucking weird for exactly that reason, I spent the whole thing waiting for the terrible traumatic fuck-you twist, and then it... doesn't happen at all.
Monstroso: the man so unbelievably evil that he consistently treated Billy Quizboy with a modicum of respect and dignity, violating all known laws of the universe.

On a related note, it wasn't until the next day that I realized the fire extinguisher thing was a metaphor

Ah, but everything the Investors did for their clients in this episode had mundane conclusions.

When 'Venture Bros.' first came out I thought it was basically going to be another 'Sealab 2021' or 'Aqua Teen Hunger Force' wherein I would watch exactly 4 episodes in the middle of the night after 48 plus hours w/ out sleep, find them impossibly hilarious, then watch them while sane and wonder intensely whether or not this was the same show I had so enjoyed before. Instead it is homage/parody of everything I enjoy and is, yes, pretty amazing.

they literally ripped out an ape-man's still beating heart then phased through the floor.

Didn't say they weren't magical.
But gorilla-heart or not, it was still a heart-transplant, not vampire-magical-immortality craziness as initially suggested. |

See, I guess the thing that happened is that you could only end every episode with Brock going on a massive, bloody killing spree so many times before you stopped being able to have an actually good show with characters who weren't just a bunch of static, two-dimensional caricatures.
And it's still funny, it's just funny in a way with clever lines and properly constructed bits instead of the usual Adult Swim "this is mainly funny because I'm high and/or 12-years-old" funny.
