House MD - The End
First time in a LONG time that an episode had me honestly sad just to put a smile on my face right in the next few minutes.
The last season had a few issues, pacing wasn't that good... i think they could've easily put House X Wilson stories overlapping over the whole season and it would be much more powerful... really didn't felt like a "Final Season" until the last 3 episodes... but oh boy, those were good. I truly, truly enjoy this show. I honestly think it's one of the best things to appear in TV for the last 10 years, and it actually makes me a bit sad to see that several of my favorite shows are starting to look heavy in the season's numbers and could also be ending (Supernatural and Burn Notice for example) I don't wanna start with spoilers in case someone hasn't seen it yet, but it's a show i can honestly recommend. Go watch it, you'll be better for it. Go. Watch House. |

Hahahaha man, this entire season was awful, and the last episode just brought it to a whole new level. Like even Death itself is enabling House. The whole episode was just weak as fuck too. Like season 6 had a powerful finale. This was just more House-gets-away-with-literally-anything.
As always, the series handles addiction fairly well, but man oh man was everything else bad. I mean this was soap opera bad. We literally saw a building collapse on House, and he is perfectly fine. Not only is he perfectly fine, but he somehow manages to switch a guy's dental records with his own to get a false ID without being caught so that he can fake his own death, and he does this offscreen. Series should have ended two seasons ago. The only thing of worth in seasons 7 and 8 was the development of Dr. Chase. Everything else was just... like back when my friend and I used to watch ages ago, we always joked about how one day it would jump the shark and House would be kidnapped by aliens or something. THAT would have been less stupid than like, everything in season 8, and most of season 7. Speaking of Dr. Chase, note that how the character who actually has to deal with the consequences of his actions once in awhile ends up being the most interesting guy. Christ, even Foreman was somehow getting away with anything. He got caught fixing a clinical trial, and they gave him the hospital. Edit: I almost want to give the final season some points for having a female doctor that is not conventionally hot, but then they made her weird and stereotypically socially awkward too, so she ends up being a walking gag. OH WELL.

The entire series tries to mirrors Sherlock Holmes, the last episode was directly related to that, just, instead of battling his nemesis on a dam and falling off, House battles himself in a burning house. what's more slowly deadly and self-destructive than a Burning house? The analogy is perfect.
Hell, even house falling through the Ceiling is an Analogy. The transition of Purgatory to Hell. on the Upper floor he was battling his Subconscious (2 dead people, his Obsession and Apaty to others as Amber, his Curiosity and apathy to self with Kutner), then he falls down and has to face a deeper truth (2 living people, his desire of salvation vs his desire for Penitence) The entire point was that House never had any possibility of salvation, he always screws up... up to the very point where, without any outside help, forced with the idea of living without Wilson, he has to come to the final conclusion that "I can change", that's the only thing House could ever do to have any sort of salvation... a "happy ending" just would never work. But something that is so minor to everyone else, to House, is a huge flip on his entire worldview. I totally Agree that Season 6 and before were at a higher level, but i still feel season 7 and 8 were somewhat decent. With the actress that plays Cuddy leaving the show, they had their hand somewhat forced on how the story was going to go anyway... |

Honest question: Now that the series is over, has anyone yet made the definitive supercut of all of the patients bleeding from their eyes/orifices where blood shouldn't come out?

Q: Why would you be watching House when you could be watching
1) Fry and Laurie 2) Blackadder 3) Jeeves and Wooster It is mathmatically Hugh Laurie's worst show. It's like saying "Let's watch some Orson Welles" and chucking in Transformers the movie- if transformers the movie wasn't awesome. |

Mostly cause i honestly think it's a great show and a couple of bad seasons out of a 8 year run doesn't mean it stopped being a great show, just that it had a couple of bad seasons, sadly, the last ones.
