Anime server
I'm an avid anime fan, and there are 5 bagillion series that I've been meaning to watch, but I'm unable to download them due to my dial up internet status and am too broke to buy them on DVD/VHS. Can anyone suggest a downloading/server/thingie that doesn't take 2 days to download one episode with a dial up? Hotline has failed me.

It'll take at least a day and a half to download an Episode of Anime with Dial-Up no matter where you go. I know, because I tried to download stuff many times on my 56K. My only suggestion is try to get Boradband and think of it as an investment. Like for me, 40 Dollars a month = almost 2 Spindles of Anime I can download in that time (roughly 50 Gigs of Anime). 40 Dollars won't even get you 2 Anime DVDs.

Definately go with Broadband the problem with isn't the sever, it's your Dial up connection. Here's how it's going
You Dial Up----======== SERVER The Dial Up can't use the full capacity of the server |

A kindred soul. It's not always an option to just get broadband. Not everyone lives in the localized areas where you can actually get the service, like me. I could go with broadband through a dish but that cost $400 for the dish and close to $60 a month. Be patient this new technology exsits that allows broadband over normal electric wires. It's in localized testing now and hopefully it will be available to all. (Note: Early data suggests that it will be nearly as fast as T1 in some rural areas and cost not much more than dialup.) Until then I bide my time and plot. :bmage:

Of course it might not be fiscally avaliable to you yet. I couldn't get broadband for 6 years, just getting it 4 months ago. But if you find the ability to get it and you want the ability to get 10,000x the Anime you could otherwise by paying exuberant prices (not going to the creators), then go for it.

Hey, i downloaded a few series before i switched to broadband. Just leave your download on overnight and you should be able to download an episode. Think of it like normal TV where you only get to see one episode a day.
But yea, if you can get it, broadband is defiantly the way to go. Or you can just whore off a friend who has broadband.
