Age of Dwarves: sign up
This is a new RPG of mien. It is based in a world that I have used before and is very well planned out (like Dark West but more). This world is different then most fantasy places, cause for one, HUMANS NOT IN CHARGE OR MOST COMMON. Instead it is Dwarfs. Also the Elves are a minor race like the humans. The main races are Dwarf Goblin and Gnome.
Story the world- 3 millennia ago the Great War ended with the fall of the 13 and there armies. This war had waged for 10,000 years, but its end came at a cost. The Dwarfs who had stayed away from the battles came pouring out of there mountain strong holds. Like a flood they destroyed the broken Elven and Human armies. The old order fell and in its wake came the Dwarfs. Until 50 years ago they and there Gnomish allies had ruled uneventfully. 50 years ago the dark Skeleton king came to the land with his undead armies. He and his Battle mage ally Cheritor waged a war on the peoples of this earth. He was finally defeated at the hands of the Order of the Crescent Moon. For what they did the Empire gave lands in the north that was hard to control to them. From this they started a new kingdom, one of allies not or subjects. They joined with the Goblin Armies, whose leader they had granted immortality to for what he did during that war. The world changed fast. Airships that were created by the Dwarven inventor Kormic and his human assistance Gelgin became used in the military. Great fleets were built by the Empire, with Kormic as it head. Gelgin though was banesed to the see. He had found a book written by the Necromancer Haztal, the founder of the dreaded 13, and studied its pages. Powers of the world- Empire- most powerful, has the most races in it at once. Run by the Dwarves. Dwarven Empire- Second most powerful. This was founded by the Dwarves who did not leave there ancient home land in the mountains. Desert Kingdoms- The human empire. This is in the Desert East of the dwarves mountains. It was not assaulted by the Dwarves at the end of the war. They say they are the ones who won the war by making allies with the Avian. Teserial- A human kingdom locked in by a ring of mountains. They keep to them selves and slay any who are not of their own who try to pass the great Denron Fortress. Alliance Empire- The people of the north who were freed and united under the Golden Crescent guild. There are two main factions who lead the Golden Crescent Guild and the Goblin Army. The goblin army is lead by the Immortal Goblin King, and the Golden Crescent Guild by Santain the ancient (he was from before the Great War). Avian- The strange and powerful people who live on an mountain off the shore of the main land. They came to the aid of the human and elves and defeated the 13. Black Armada- this isn’t there real name, but no one knows it. They have appeared over the land in strange airships. No one know who they are or where they came from. Your story. You are from the Alliance Empire. It is still dominated by dwarves but is the only land where none dwarves/gnomes are treated as equals. You can be any race, though most should be dwarves, since they are most common. Dwarven is the main language, so all none Dwarves will have there own language. You also speak Goblin and Ancient since they are the national languages of the kingdom you live in. Your Story- You are a group that are destined to stop something but the leaders don’t know what. You have been summoned to be fitted to go on your quest. During it you will learn secrets about what is going on, learn of great evil, and learn about the 13 and Great War. Caricature sheet. Name: (first, last, maybe middle. Also maybe who your father was *son of blahbity) Gender: (male or female) Race: (human, dwarf, evlen, goblin, gnome) *this isn’t all the races in the world, just the ones you can be* Age: (Dwarves 100-250, Elves 125-400, Human 18-35, Goblin 10-25, Gnome 30-75) Class: (Warrior, Ranger, Thief, Bard, Monk, Healer*not cleric since you wont have a god*, Mage) Appearance: Equipment: (armor weapons and other stuff. Nothing special at all. Just basic stuff) Abilities: (This is spells, focuses, and weapon specialization and the such. Remember you were chosen do to prophecy not power. None of you are masters or something) Back story: (unlike most of my games this really isn’t important at all) |

One short-guy coming up.
This looks interesting. Lemme divvy up a brand new character for it.
Name: Trodden Addleskeith Riverstomp, Son of Vargas Devonshire Riverstomp Gender: Male Race: Dwarven Age: 113 Class: Mage Appearance: While his father was a decorated and well-paid warrior that served in the battle of something-or-other, Trodden is not so much a pump-up king of fighters, but a very...average Dwarf in terms of physical stamina. He could swing a hefty warhammer or axe or whatever his father use to wield, but has found that lighter weapons are far easier to handle. He is 3.5 feet in height, and dressed in a brown hooded robe that is standard for the order of magery that he is studying in. (Lord only knows what he's wearing underneath, but you can bet that it clanks when he walks.) He has brown hair that is a tad bit lighter than his robe, with a beard that is half a foot long and unbraided. His expression is usually sour. This is not a happy Dwarf, or not very often anyway. Equipment: Wooden Mage Staff - A complimentary part of his attire. The Order of Mages gave him this thing as a focus for magic. It directs his spells more carefully than he could without it. (If he casts a spell without it, the spell could cause more harm than help.) Brown Mage Robes - Your basic thick robes of the magus, better designed to help resist the elements than some bloke wielding a scimitar. Serrated Dagger - This is a standard-sized knife used for close-quarters combat. It seems to have gone a bit dull from use. Many many repeated uses... Junk Armor - Not something you buy, but rather you make from spare parts. This is basically a gimmicked chest-plate with shoulder-pieces held together by chains. It clanks a bit when he walks and is only slightly better than not having armor at all. Good thing it's underneath the robe, otherwise Trodden might die of embarassment... The Book of Vengeance - Not a spellbook or tome of any sort. He'd have to get WAY BETTER to have access to one of those. This is a book that is filled with blank sheets of paper...along with numerous entries. The entries appear to be people's names...and some sort of punishment listed beside them. A number of the entries listed have been crossed off, meaning that he has...solved that issue. Abilities: Trodden's choice of spells has been...rather interesting. The reasons for this will become apparent later. Isenbrook's Liquid Flamewad - A type of projected fireball spell, roughly the size of standard human fist. It is not an explosive spell, so it has low-impact power. Instead, the enemy is blasted with a liquid-fire glop that similar to being hit by burning-hot oil. It continues to burn for a minute after impact, so it is a fire-hazard. Mason's Icy Cannonball - Roughly the size of a small cannonball (man's fist again), this projected ball of dense ice is more impact and less freeze-your-opponents magic. It is useful in knocking your opponents...out cold. Gazuga's Unforgiveable Stench - A dirty trick. This is a concentrated ball of hoorible smell that explodes into a gas that is distracting at its best and horribly offensive at its worst. Call it a distraction spell. (Note: Smell hard to wash out.) Haagar's Painful Spark - A direct-contact spell. Using this by hand (or Trodden's staff), one may impart a short, but highly-painful lightning-zap. It is used as torture or punishment in most cases. This spell is a lesser-version of Haager's more prominent work, the Vile Thunderbolt. Backstory: What's in a name, I ask you? Identity? Soul? Funny little letters? For the Dwarf known as Trodden Addleskeith Riverstomp, it is a source of great annoyance. It is, shall we say, an issue that has made him the sour little man he is today. It is a matter of fact that he was born into a warrior family, from a long line of warriors, the eighth son of the eighth son in that line. His father was a four-foot-tall 'giant' of a Dwarf, a man that could swing a morning star in one hand and a heavy warhammer in the other. Trodden grew up to be...average. He just fit into the nook of what most Dwarves were in life; short men. The fact that he wasn't soldier-material or big like his father was bad enough. The worst part was his name, though. Trodden... He sounded like something you've just stepped upon, many many times. Some people had done it, risking life and limb to get away afterward. Mostly what he got was ridicule for his stature and name. Thus, he was a generally bad-tempered Dwarf just looking for an outlet for his anger. And then...he found one. Trodden enrolled into the Ramatam School of Magery and Curse-Wielding, a local Dwarven-funded school of magic. Finally, some satisfaction... Trodden devoted his studies to the art of punishing and painful spells, things that he could use to get back at anyone making fun of him. No one is entirely sure what he's been up to besides that, but there are numerous complaints about "Some guy with a stick, tearing ass and throwing spells".

I'll have to make this one up from scratch. My other characters are all totaly free form, masters at their chosen art.
Name:Achabar Bowerstone, son of Orenar Bowerstone Gender: Male Race: Dwarven Age: 67 Class: Engeneer Apearance: Taking after his father, Achabar is short in stature, 3', and thinner than a normal dwarf. Many mistake him for a gnome. His apearal, therefore, is gnomish, since dwarven clothes don't fit him well. His only dwarven feature is his long brown beard which goes down to his knees. Equipement: Achabar is not built for close combat so he has mostly marksman's tools. Sling- A very inacurate rock thrower which is more an annoyance than a danger. Little impact dammage. Short Bow- Achabar carries it around but doesn't realy know how to use it, and has no arrows for it. Hatchet- If all else fails, cut him off at the knees Hammer- For his job, not a weapon Iron Helm- As an engeneer in training, Achabar has a limited smithing ability, but this meager protection is currently his best work. Abilities: Achabar is very creative, but young and doesn't have a lot of training yet. Smith Iron- the ability to smith iron bars into equipement. Requires a hammer. Marksman- Doubles acuracy with ranged weapons. Doesn't always work. Mining- The ability to prospect, mine, and smelt metal from soft rock. Learning- New abilities can be learned at guild huts. Teaching- Teaching a skill upgrades it. For example, teaching "Smith Iron" makes it into "Smith Steel" Teaching can be done only in guild huts. Back Story: I purposely made this character young so I wouldn't have to worry about it. I hope that's alright.

The idea is to have a character who is... maleable is problably the best word. He's young, very young, and not set in his ways so he can recieve any training and improove his own skills through inovation and an active imagination. You, of cource, decide the speed of the character's developement by deciding the frequency of "guild huts," but it seems like you've done this before with some results so I trust your judgement.

Im newish to the online forum rpg but i have had many long long normal table top. The reason i brought up the age thing is so you are sure you want that. Dwarves learn things slow but they learn them well, so you will still be an aprentice of sorts but yes you could learn alot since you are of younge age.
