Psychonauts & Beyond Good & Evil...
I've heard these two titles are pretty good (by the Adventure gaming croud) and was wondering if anyone else had any other comments. Oh, and I guess which platforms I should look for.
I can only handle PS2, Computer (maybe), and Gamecube. I do know that Psychonauts is the brainchild of a guy was behind many of Lucasart's classic adventure games like Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle & Grim Fandiango. SWK

Beyond Good and Evil is an awesome game. You've got a PS2, so you'll get the best version. It's cheap, pretty long, and loads of fun. Aside from the main storyline, there are the "You Find'em, You Beat'em" type sidequests scattered here and there. You can also use your super-duper Evil-Plot-Revealing Camera to take personal photographs. (My favorite usually involve monsters eating my sidekicks. Eh heh heh.)
I'd say go for Beyond Good and Evil. Never played the other one.

You can grab a PC demo for Psychonauts from fileplanet. I tried it out, but I'm really not sure what to think of it. Seems entertaining enough, but it feels like much more of a standard platformer than an adventure game from what I've tried.

Psychonauts is, at its core, a hub-based platformer. That doesn't mean it isn't good, because it is. Good, that is. Very good. The dialogue is super funny, and the psychic powers you get allow for the stages to be very different from one another, so it's not the same old hop and bop level after level. Also there's a lot of replay value with the amount of collectable/unlockable items in the game. I'd definitely check this out for PC if you can, it's worth it.
Beyond Good and Evil is probably more like an adventure game. Also very good, the photography angle is a nice touch. Compelling storyline as well, keeps you interested throughout the length of the game. Wish it was longer, you can beat it under 15 hours as I recall. As stated previously, you can probably get this game pretty cheaply for the PS2, so I'd recommend doing that.

Psychonauts is a PC game, but it was made to use the full power of X-Box, so X-Box users will most likely get the best experience with it.

Too much awesome for such a small space. Oh well. You can still punch your mother...if you want... Fifth and Krylo made me do it. http://www.animecubed.com/billy/user...sigs/60266.jpg Be the Ultimate Ninja! Play Billy Vs. SNAKEMAN today! |

I bought psychonauts for Xbox. I only have 2 gripes about the game.
1) The game is too short. It could have been way longer. 2) The games ending sucked ALMOST as much as Halo 2(but not quite as much).

BGE was underrated. My brother is currently raving about Psychonauts.
Conclusion: couldn't hurt to try them.

I did & I am. Beyond Good & Evil, is good but not perfect. Its good to play in bits & pieces, but I can't stand an extended sitting for some reason.
Psychonauts looks pretty good, aside from problems at my end (video just stops at points & there's this weird effect on the ground; plus I have to figure out some new means of control aside from the controller I've got, and on that front I downloaded the program Brian pointed too a while back, and got that PS2 converter). Once I get past those, I should be able to enjoy it properly. SWK - Also, am I mistaken does Raz have the voice actor of Invader Zim?
