Default FMA: Bros Before Hos to premiere on Adult Swim.

Linky.

It's gonna be on the [AS] website, too, so pretty cool.

Maybe this English Dub will let me follow it more closely, as I've found the series less engaging than the previous series and the manga.

Why does [adult swim] get all this good anime? It blows my mind that I only watch anime today because I liked Futurama like 10 years ago.

I hope I wasn't the only person who saw the title and thought he was talking about a new spinoff series.

Still, that's good news. I've been trying to get around to watching Brotherhood - I saw some of the anime and read a whole bunch of the manga in one sitting. I might just wait around for the dub. I saw some of the subbed episodes already, but I prefer dubs if a good quality one is available (read: FMA is pretty much the only anime I know with good-quality dubs).

Cowboy Bebop is the best dub that you'll ever watch.

That said, FMA wasn't bad. Brotherhood should hopefully command the same level of quality, given that I highly doubt that it will run longer than 50 episodes.

Srsly, we're in the endgame now. (Actual spoiler; very different from previous series) Pride aka SELIM BRADLEY is kickin' it real good, and I just know we'll get some Mustang REVOLUTION! happening sooner rather than later.

I think it's supposed to have mostly the same actors from the first anime's dub. Personally I'm not really very excited--I've been watching all the subbed episodes. I'll probably watch a couple just to see what the dub is like, though.

EDIT: Also it seems like Adult Swim has not had a new anime I like in like two years, I think the last one I liked was Death Note and I ended up watching it subbed. Now that I have better internet access I can't really see much reason to watch one dubbed episode of an anime a week when I can get a hold of all the subbed episodes.

Also I don't get Syfy channel, don't they have an anime night now? What anime are on it?

I always thought the Gundam series had good dubs as a whole, and pretty much anything on [AS] has a decent to good dub as well. Say what you will about the characters/story themselves, I thought the VAs in Inuyasha were good >.>

That said, Bebop's English dub is by far the bestest, most rad dub ever. Beats the original in every way. FLCL is arguably a great dub too, in the sense that understanding the language being spoken helped me comprehend all the insane shit going down at any given moment.

*Gets on topic*

I'm excited for this. I loved the first series, but lost interest in the manga (I read it too soon after watching the anime, and I lose interest quickly if I'm reading something I just watched recently; I really should get around to reading the manga again >.>). My bro watched the first five or so episodes subbed, said he was gonna wait around for the dub as the change in voices was buggin' him. Him and I'll probably make a point to sit down and watch this, since I'll actually be home next week.

Default I blame the ease of getting it online.

We have two stickies for the silliness that is subs and dubs and their discussions.

SyFy showed some effort with their Ani-Mondays, but their advertising for it has dropped away, seemingly to let it fade out. Perhaps anime fans really are terrible viewers like [as] has been saying and the ratings were poor enough that SyFy is focusing less on it.

Anime viewers first learn about their favorites shows primarily through the internet, why would they stop just because it's on TV?

Their selection is so tiny, if a large segment of people don't like one of their shows their ratings are going to be really low. I don't like Bleach and I didn't give Code Geass a chance, so I personally haven't watched Adult Swim Saturday nights in something like a year and a half. Saying that "anime fans are terrible viewers" is kind of missing the point: a selection of, at best, 8 shows once a week is not enough to bring in enough anime fans, many of whom are so far ahead of the U.S. broadcast of said shows due to the internet. I mean, seriously, FMA: Brotherhood is on its 43rd episode, did they expect people who care enough about anime and that series to wait 43 weeks to watch it on American television once a week when they can access it on the internet 24 hours a day 7 days a week for the past six months? It's not surprising that the ratings for it are low, not to mention the entire Adult Swim idea of staying up until 2 in the morning to watch things is kind of a ridiculous idea in the first place, anyway. Luckily there is DVR now.

Basically, AS airs comedy programming every night of the week, and anime once a week, and then they even stick comedy programming on that night, too. Blaming the viewer is pointless when it seems obvious that the fault is with AS' dedication to anime, being near non-existent. They will say they cut back on their anime programming because viewership dropped off, but viewership probably dropped off because they cut back on their anime programming. I think it would be difficult to point out the real causation.
