I Love Bees
So, is anyone here into the I Love Bees extravaganza?
I learnt about it a few days ago (through Penny Arcade, actually) and was kind of impressed, almost freaked out, actually, even knowing it's all just some kind of game. Maybe it's the AI stuff or the physical metaphors, I don't know. I'm not all that fired up on going after all the clues or piecing theories together, but I checked out all the weird messages, including the ones hidden in the jpg codes, the weird sounds, Dana's blog, the Wiki boards... and I sure will be waking up real soon in the 24th to see the end of that countdown.

It's an enigma to me. It's so weird, and I just want to figure it out. I haven't really partaken in any of the puzzles, but it's still so freaking weird. Don't even wanna TRY to delve into it.

I actually feel like a loser. I didn't get the whole "its supposed to be a puzzle" thing and thought the webmaster actually thought she had been hacked. So I fixed the sourcecode and emailed it back to her...

That thing actually gives me the creeps, even after learning what it is (maybe because I also learned what it's *supposed* to be). When I first went to the site, I had no idea at all what to expect. so I got a rather intense "WTF"-moment out of it. I'm currently wondering if seeing the end of the countdown live merits getting up at 6 AM.

The first page is easy, really. I just can't figure out the riddle.

I've been following ILoveBees since near the beginning. Was wondering when someone would post on it. I'm anxious to see what's going to happen at the end of the final countdown and to see whether or not this is REALLY related to Halo 2 at all.

Yeah, I probably got confused since I only went to I Love Bees after the countdown had already been started, and I got the link from PCStats.com, who apparently hasn't picked up on the fact that its a puzzle either cuz they said "Please help this lady out" and linked to the website.

So about www.thisisnotporn.com...I got to the page with the shipping truck, and the sound file with radio alphabet letters and stuff. Is there anything past that?

Yes, there's quite a bit after that. If you highlight the white space beneath the photo, you'll notice that there's a long string of three-digit numbers. These are ASCII codes. Go into a Word processor, hold down alt, and use the num pad to change the numbers into letters.
Look in the source code of that page, and the title, and you'll see other ASCII codes. If you translate them all, they form a poem (among other things) that will help you solve the 'riddle.' If you're really stuck, though, the next page is this: www.thisisnotporn.com/see/IJsselmeer.htm That one's easy. It gets much, much harder after that. |
