Default NPF Avatars: A God's Madness

Nuklear Power Forums. An incredible city indeed. The buildings seem to be a mishmash of different cultures and ideas. Bright flashing lights fill many areas, while others are covered in darkness. Vehicles of many shapes and sizes run through the streets. Shops show off different gadgets and food items. Of course, there is destruction in many places, which guarantees the appearance of the Fixers, the robots that can fix nearly any damage within minutes. And powering all this activity is the Kurosen, which resides in the tallest tower at the exact center of the city. Because of its importance, the Kurosen is guarded by all kinds of security. They thought that it was impenetrable. They were wrong. All it needed was the right person to break in.

It was night time, and the three moons had rested themselves in the night sky. The entrance to the tower was modest enough. A small door guarded by two soldiers. When a shadowy form approached the door, they both raised their guns. However, they lowered their weapons once they recognized the figure. After all, it's hard to mistake a man with glowing electric eyes, long white hair, lots of muscles, and seems to NEVER wear a shirt. One of the soldiers waved.

"Sup Raiden."

"Not much, Dave."

Raiden walked up to the door, stared at it, and rubbed a finger along it.

"You know, I've always been curious about this door. What's it made of?"

"10 1-inch layers of tempered titanium alloy."

"Wow. That's quite a lot."

"We know. It'd take a diamond drill to get through th-"

The soldier's words were cut short when Raiden reared his fist back, and shot it forward. His fist connected with the dense metal, and then carried through. The metal crumpled under his attack, and went flying inside, ripped from its hinges and worthless.

"W-what the hell are you DOING!"

Suddenly, both soldiers were gasping for breath as their throats were grasped tightly by the god. They stared directly into the Thunder Deity's glowing eyes. His smile was cruel.

"Come on, guys. I thought you were smarter than this. What other reason would I have to break in here...then to take the Kurosen?"

The soldiers were scratched at his hands to escape his hold. He tossed them to the side, and their heads struck against a wall. They both dropped down unconscious. Raiden turned back to the entrance and entered.

Alarms began to ring loudly, and a red flashing light filled the area. Back up would be here eventually. No matter. Who was going to stop him? He trodded forward, his steel soled boots making a clang with every step. His electric aura was seeping through the building, sensing every bit of movement, whether biological or mechanical. Every time he walked past a camera, electricity sparked from his body and zapped the small device.

After walking through a door, it closed tightly behind him, as well as the door on the other end of the hallway. Red lasers shot out from the walls and began to randomly run up and down the hall. Raiden chuckled.

"Such toys...these mortals make."

He walked forward, completely regardless of the danger of the cutting lasers. Soon, one of the red lasers struck his arm, and sliced completely through, severing his arm from the elbow down. Without even missing a beat, the Thunder God continued walking. Electricity sparked between the severed arm and the stump on his body. Almost through a magnetic pull, the cut arm flew back to Raiden's body, and reattached itself to where it was once before. Electricy coursed over the cut, and it was healed back to his body. This happened again several more times to different body parts, and he simply healed himself again and again.

"Toys made by mortals...and meant to stop mortals."

He continued like this through the entire tower. Any trap he came upon, he walked through. Any security code he needed, his electric cyber abilities hacked the system. Any door, no matter how thick or its material, was flattened by the sheer power of the God. Cameras went to static upon simply staring in his direction. By now, electricity seemed to seep from his body with a mind of his own. And the smile on his face.........something no one had ever seen on his face before. A look of such...power. He was drunk on his own power.

Finally he came upon his destination. In a large room stood a series of tubes and wires. And in the very center of it, glowing in multiple varying colors and hues was the Kurosen. The Kurosen was protected by a special barrier. This was the one security measure that Raiden couldn't zap or power through. That meant little, though.

"Such a pretty little trinket. And to think, a little thing like you manages to power an entire city. Such power..."

Raiden's speech then changed. As the words left his mouth, they became visible and solid. The sigils floated in the air and followed him as he made his way toward the barrier.

"Such a nice toy. This...is a toy for immortals."

He placed his hand upon the barrier. It did not hurt him. Then again, hurting wasn't its purpose. It was made of a strange energy that was truly unbreakable. However, Raiden had no intention of breaking it. The sigils in the air around him floated down to his hand and wrapped around it. His hand glowed for a bit, and then became transparent. His hand seeped through the barrier, and grasped tightly onto the Kurosen.

Suddenly, a new alarm blared out. Holes opened up in the walls, and hundreds of large defense robots rushed from them. They surrounded Raiden and aimed an uncountable number of weapons at him. He looked at them, and laughed. He laughed a horrid...and cruel...laugh.

"You NPFers. You try so hard to defend this. So hard. I should compliment you on the effort. However..."

Raiden's free hand was held up into the air. A large ball of electricity formed, and then shrunk. It got bigger again, then got smaller. While some may have thought that the ball was simply fluctuating in size, those that knew Raiden's abilities would understand that he was simply condensing an ever growing amount of electricity. After a few moments, a tiny ball of electricity laid in the Thunder God's hands.

"Effort isn't everything."

He let the tiny ball drop.

Those outside the tower had claimed that it was the strangest sight they had ever seen. The top of the grand tower seemed to first implode, like it was falling in on itself. Then, it exploded in a giant show of electricity and fire. An emp shockwave blasted through the city, frying nearly all kinds of electrical devices. A strange radiation surrounded the tower, and those near it got sick. Also, they remembered seeing a glowing figure flying at high speeds to some distant area, holding a multi-colored object in his arms.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Amongst the raging firestorm a figure robed in black silk and masked in white ivory stood untouched and unscathed. The figure turned what was percieved to be its head around surveying the ruin of the tower from inside the destruction. The figure glided forward, its black robe hovering an inch over the ground not touching the debris or gathering dust. The figure seemed almost sadenned in the way that its covered body was hunched slightly. Though it was not the destruction that was what effected this being, it was the sight of the spot where it was headed. That is, the exact center of the base of the tower, directly where the Kurosen had once been held.

The figure arriving upon the scene floated in stoic silence for momence as it stared at the broken wards and containers that had held the item which powered the city. The mask and subsequently the head shook slightly side to side as if a silent sigh of regret. Looking up from its ruminations the figure enacted its power, or so one would assume, for the burning ruins of the tower were no longer burning, and there were numerous paths through the debris where none had been located before. The most notable change visible was that the immediate vicinity around the broken container of the Kurosen was cleared and paved with white marble, whilst the broken container was reconstructed, minus the wards at the moment.

This must not be. a voice resounded in the minds of many of the NPF'rs moments after the devastation had occured. Come now, or forfeit the right and and status to save our grand city. With that a mental image of the site of the destruction came into the minds of those that recieved the message.

An engulfing white blaze of a light surrounded near the ruin. All near it seemed drawn to it. The light flickered slightly before a intense flash erupted outwards, slightly blinding any who were looking at it.

What was left in the wake was a young woman, dressed in red with a large sword held to her back by seemingly nothing. A small, red and translucent dragon was rapped around her right arm. The python sized reptile slightly hissed at its surroundings.

She stepped forward to see the lightning scored area of the ruins and she shook her head.

"Raiden, most noble of gods. Why would you degrade your self like this? Seperating yourself from all outside links? Stealing from the city you held dear? The very city you told me was as marvelous as any God's pantheon. What forsaking has come upon you? I need to know."

A large chunk of corn, the size of a man, fell onto the ground at ground zero of the explosion. The corn kernels began to spin, then slowly dissapeared, revealing a man. (this is how he teleports, but faster. That one was a materialization. When he telepots, he instantly dissapears in a flash of corn, leaving a single piece of corn lying on the ground. He instantly rematerializes at his destination, in another flash of corn, and another piece is lying on the ground) Darkcorn stepped out of the empty corn husk, then glanced around at the carnage. "Huh. I would've thought there would've been more signs of a struggle." He saw a woman standing in the corner and went up to her and said "Yo. who did this?"

As the deafening explosions shook the city, a man was awoken with a start.

Fenris rubbed his eyes blearily, and crawled out of the box. Everything seemed darker, and he couldn't quite put his finger on it. As he looked around at the various businesses and residences around him, it struck him. Power was out.

'The Kurosen must be malfunctioning,' Fenris thought. 'Power should be back soon.'

He didn't know a damn thing...

CRACKABOOOM! a black stream of lighting struck down outside the ruins, then a thick green smoke swooshed out in a large cloud, out of the cloud stepped a young man with a long black cape that covered his shoulders and black clothing save for a green T-shirt and a prodigous amount of hair sticking out of his head like a halo, he sniffed and surveyed the surroundings. "Whoa, this had to be one of the gods around here, probably Pyros," he walked towards Mesden "I don't suppose you know which immortal did this? maybe we should be quick before their city shuts down completely" he spyed a figure a distance away in a cloak "Hey man, what goes on? you the guy that called us here?"

The flood of feeling that can only be described as waking hit the Wizard like a bullet. Light flashed through his eyelids, illuminating his recently dark world. He heard birds chirping, although he knew that was his imagination. He smelled bright nature, but knew that was false. He felt the crisp grass beneath him, and knew that was a lie. He was brought back to conscious by a cold, wet feeling form his hand. The world seemed to chill around him as he brightened. The dreary slab of metal that he laid upon was the truth, the mechanical sounds reality. Before he opened his eyes, he placed his hand on his pets soft fur and petted him. He opened his eyes to the world around.

He was in a cell. A cell in the middle of the Earth, in the middle of the ocean, in the middle of a secret military base. The mortals had now deemed him “dangerous”, and decided that this location was in their best interest. The cell around him was simple… or it was. It was now covered in beautiful art. Everlasting fire and forever frozen ice enveloped the walls around him. Paints made from pure metaphysical matter depicted great heroes, great battles, and great legends. He had not wished to leave this wasteland before, but he yearned for his true home. However, he was merely homesick. The base that he was in merely served as his vacation before he went home. He knew home would always be there, the NPF always resolute.

He had covered the cell in his art, and knew it was soon his time to leave. The main problem with that was he needed this place intact. That which he had built with his own hands stood around him, and he wanted it safe. Wanted it to last. Like his home. The same wet feeling from before sloshed across his face, and a dark shadow ascended upon him. He knew not to look, for to look would be to obey. He looked anyways.

Charon looked back up at him. His cute little eyes were squinted in joy, and he stood with a regal aura about him. His cuteness washed over the area, making the Wizard’s home sickness wash away. He let out a little yip, and the Wizard played around with him for a while, knowing his return could wait. But, as he had learned a longtime ago, you can’t know everything.

This must not be. Come now, or forfeit the right and and status to save our grand city.

The voice was chilling, the message somber. The scene that accompanied the message was worse. The great tower, where the Kurosen, mightiest of the NPF, resided, was in ruins. The first thought the Wizard had was disbelief. The great crumbled architecture could not be the strongest location in the NPF. This oculd not be reality. Yet, a lot of strange things had happened lately. The Wizard knew, that if this was true, it was his duty to help. He took one last look around the room. Charon barked, anticipating action. With warmth spread through his heart, the Wizard placed his hand on the door, and blew it down.
-----------------------------------------------------------
I will not go to great lengths to describe the valor of the army the Wizard faced. I will not describe the tanks he destroyed, the millions he defeated, and all those he let live out of mercy. Mainly because you already got the idea.

The Wizard showed up at the center of the Great City his usual way, skidding from the run he took to get there. Dust swirled into the chill air, and before the Wizard entered the city, he noticed the tower missing. He didn’t believe it until the dust had settles, and the ruins laid before him. A tear went down his cheek, as he turned to view the God before him. She was looking into the sky with confusion in her eye. He noticed her as the great Mesia Denostaya, a God that preferred to be called Mesden. Not too many knew of her, but someone as interested in Divine Metaphysics as the Wizard recognized her readily. This could also be because he had heard Raiden talk about her many times before, but I have to introduce his scholarly knowledge somehow! The Wizard turned to the God and said in a voice that seemed like it was barely containing sadness,

“Mesden, do you know of the person who did this atrocity? I ask so that we may skin him alive and hang him for all to see the might of the NPF, and so that all may know that they do not mess with us.”

He thought for a few seconds, and then asked, “By the way, do you know the voice that spoke in our heads?”

With a sigh and a turn towards the Twiddy, Mesden said, " I am afraid to say this had to be Raiden. If you notice the scoring upon the building was electric and I just know it had to be. I can't feel him anymore. His soul's connection to the rest of the universe is gone. His Rune connection is concealed. A very hard feat to accomplish even for the strongest god. I am afraid the God I once had respect for, the only one I really ever respected, has gone against the town and people he cherished so much."

She looked back towards the ruins and her right hand clenched violently. The dragon that was wrapped around her spun off and started to hover around her, but with no physical touching.

"Damn you Raiden. A lying, manipulating bastard. Some sibling you are."

The dragon began to rest upon her shoulder as her clenched fist began to untighten.

She looked back towards the inquiring man and said, "Now we wait for everyone else that wants to help...."

"And how do you know who I am, wizard?"

As he walked down the street, Fenris noticed something odd. The tallest tower was missing. He decided he would best investigate. Grabbing his trusty knapsack and his mallet, he headed torward where the mighty tower once stood. Upon his arrival, he noticed a small crowd of people. He stayed back, and decided to watch from afar and to see just what was going on.

The Wizard turned his head toward the Lost God. He took a few seconds to think, his wings furling in agitation. He then spoke, with controlled anger in his voice,

"Mesden, I was told by the very being who now say betrayed us about your existance. He was my Patron God, my guide, my mentor. Your words cut deep into me soul, as your very powers would like to suggest. I find it horribly scarring that such a man who I knew to have so many values, would betray us in such a way. Please tell me this introduction of yours is some sick joke." ...Uh... what's with the flamboyant way you are speaking right now? Shut... UP!

Her gaze fixated upon the young man. The dragon turned swiftly to look at the wizard too. The gaze in her eyes shown a bright white that truly gave a feeling of looking at who you really were. The fact is, she was.

"Ah...Twiddy isn't it? Raiden told me of you. You are the true meaning of multiple personality. Heh, inner turmoil is a feat you have truly accomplished."

After the polite joking aside, her look became like it normally was.

"Yes, I am sorry to say it was Raiden. Though I know not why, he did it. He did love this place. I could seeit in him. This is more shocking to me than you could ever guess. But time is essential. We need allies. Raiden has become....more powerful in an odd way. His Rune was acting up while he was in this building. That is the only reason I am here. Twiddy, isn't it? Round up as many willing...um...NPFers? as you can."
