Picture of the Month Thread: February

I'm not sure if this forum has those unspoken rules of no newbie is supposed to make a new thread or anything but I really liked this idea at the old forum I infrequently frequent. Anyways, here it goes. It has some editing to make it more user-interactive. The idea is you will vote out of three different options to see what pic motto will be the theme next month. The poll ends when January ends and then I give the winner and the subject that you guys are to make pics with a theme about. No size limitations are put here, except the usual (which I actually couldn't find after a quick perusal of the rules. What's the rule with this? My old forum had it at a size of nothing above 400x300, I believe) This is also the place to make requests if you don't have photoshop or such and need someone else to make it for you.

Just to be clear, this isn't a contest. Don't feel like your pic has to live up to some comedic standard. Just post your work and we get to see it. The only competition is to pick the pic theme. After that, this is a thread completely for expression... now that I think about it, this might be more appropriate in Arts and Crafts. If a mod agrees, could you move it?

Here is an example of what you can do. This one was "I would totally go gay for..." Month, obviously

This is another that is not so obvious. This one was for "What i want for Christmas" Month, so as you can see.

Hmmmm... Just noticed I have no idea where your poll option is for making a new thread. If someone could, can you inform me of this for the next one so this can be made a little better? I'll just manually tally votes for this one though. Alright so here are the three options.

"My Valentine goes to ___" Month

"Black Sheep" Month (Coming from the idea that February is the one month that gets jipped on day-count)

"Worst Fad EVAR!!!!" Month (Not month related and they won't all be. I'll try and always make one month-related but that task can get understandable hard and unnecessarily restricting)

EDIT: I changed the subject of the thread. Any new posts under the new subject are after post 12, I believe. So, if you are interested start your voting there.

Okay but for serious, we do have an actual for-real rule about not displaying images in people's sigs. Also I don't believe we're set up to allow users to post polls, though I couldn't say on that for sure.

Anyway if you still wanna hang out with us now you've seen what a bunch of humorless picky jerks we are - welcome to the forums!

And thanks for the welcome. You guys seem a lot like what I was looking for. You seem to have a good control on flamers in general and you have a good mix of new posters with experienced posters which translates to a forum that hasn't secluded itself to it's more experienced users. That was the main reason I left my old forums, added with some certain particulars.

Yeah, we set polls to moderator-only mode after we noticed a minor flood of particularly silly polls. We can totally make one if a thread idea merits a poll, though. I'd add one here, but it might not make much sense, what with no sig images. :p

We could always just talk about whoever has the most amusing/helpful/downright awesome sig I suppose, and put in a poll if we start to see some clear leaders.

Personally the Spacepope's political one is my favourite of the current batch.

Brian's (Kurosen) always makes me laugh. I miss Viper Damiyo.
