Evil's Return 2: School's Out and the Book of Death.
The first day of school is never ever fun.
However, unless you were unlucky enough to be at Taylorsville High, you really have no room to complain. A number of walls were in shambles. A number of students were in shambles. A bigger number of students were possessed by demons. The person the demons were chasing was trying to make good on her escape. And meantime, those protecting her were fighting for their lives. All signs pointed to it being a very long school year. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ As Elissa shouted her warning, Jared, having just finished shout out in pain as that blasted knight landed on his compound fracture, being rather unable to move, put up his shield again, hoping it had enough strength left in it to protect him from whatever the S.E.C.A. agent was about to do. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Those outside the building hear distant sirens. Given the fact that S.E.C.A. had priority to answer any calls on the high school, chances were those siren’s signaled the arrival of a bunch of heavily armed men who knew how to put a situation like this to an end. However, the sirens still sounded very far away. The sounds of the possessed students, sensing that their prey was getting away, was not so distant. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Those inside the school weren’t doing much better. The blood-summoned, seemingly having lost interest in playing, was on the move towards C-building…towards where the Mother of Hell was. Throwing any kind of firepower at the demon would quickly become complicated as the demon charged towards the more heavily “populated” C-building, where the halls were seething with possessed students. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Meanwhile, back at the warehouse, things were comparatively well in hand…if you counted having a blood-summoned demons surrounded well in hand. Retorts of gunfire echoed down the all as two of the strike teams assaulted the last stronghold of the cultist. But all knew that the overall success of the mission depend on the battle between the blood-summoned, Strike Team Echo, and the battered remains of the forth team. ((OOC: Okay…I guess that’s a pretty good sum-up of the current situation. Tell me if I missed anything. ))

Pop. The sound was so harmless, almost innocent, as the canister flew from Elissa's gun. With all her effort, she had hoped to at least stop this thing from going for MoH at its leisure.
Then, another Pop. Almost like a balloon of water being pierced before the first shot had made its way. Both consecutive blasts heading faster than the eye could follow towards the rampaging terror. With what minimal time she had, Elissa had threw herself around a corner, only just in time to hear the crashing eruptions of her two grenades -- much stronger and potent than any hand grenade, blast at what she hoped were the heads of the demon. Wearily, she reloaded again, if the thing was somehow able to keep going. Priority was to keep the mother safe and between that blast and the high likeliness of having a hellhound between them, Elissa wasn't about to jump towards Jared to help him towards the PA system. She took her radio again, "You guys owe me a fucking raise after this. Fucking Christ. 1 frag and two M203 blasts at the damn thing. I've got an injured protector and a school STILL filled with possessed kids. If I can get by the demon, I think me and the Jared kid will be able to solve most of that problem soon though. Hurry the fuck up. Crestin out."

"Kissass," Laurella said playfully, but obediently followed Kase to his trike.

After being dragged around, John was on all fours on the ground, spitting up blood. What horrible timing for one of his bouts of pain, what with possessed students and a blood demon attacking.
Luckily for John, none of the Least Demons went near him. Perhaps they didn't see the injured man as a threat, or more likely, they knew what he was, and were to afraid to go near. OOC: Good ol' bouts of pain, easy cop out for lack of posting.

Jimmy swung back toward the school as a series of two large explosions rocked the B building.
"Yeah, let's get the hell outta here," he said to no one in particular before turning back to the parking lot and running a bit ahead of the others, making certain not to leave them too far behind. As soon as he came to the first car, a rather large older cadillac, probably having an all steel frame, he pulled his coat off, wrapped it around his fist, and punched the passenger door's window, shattering the thick glass as though it were nothing. Then he unwrapped the coat from his hand, threw it in, unlocked the doors and climbed in. A few moments later the car trembled to life, as Jimmy silently thanked whoever happened to be listening that he didn't have to pry off the plate newer cars had under the steering wheel to prevent what he had just done. With the car started Jimmy opened the door and stepped half-way out, "Alright, everyone who can't fit in the bike get in the car. I think it's about time we make our exit... unless one of you happens to be curious about those explosions."

Wow thats painful! OR Wait and Bleed
Rick tore through the hallways as fast as his rent legs would carry him. He could hear distant sounds of the cavalry on the way Dammit! Will you ever fricken work with me here? You never had these sorts of problems before. Rick callously shoved possessed students around with the end of his bat. He made it to where he could see the classroom, and noticed through a nearby window a small crowd heading to the parking lot. He ran toward the window for a closer look but was grabbed by two possessed students, who sunk their hands into his wounded arms. OW! Get… the… hell… Rick’s reserves of energy were running a bit low; he couldn’t seem to ignore the pain that these were inflicting on him.
He looked at his left hand. The symbol’s blood was still fresh, the shape not completely smudged. It could still work. If I draw that, these guys would be no problem. Rick pulled his right hand toward his left. No! No excessive casualties! He threw his wounded head OW! into one possessed student’s face, and kicked at the one holding his left arm. The head butt was strong enough to loosen one of their grips, which gave Rick the freedom to smack the other’s feet with the bat. He pushed the pair of them back and ran to the window. She’s outside! Safe for now. And with the cavalry on the way, I guess I should run by the blood-summoned and see if they need help. If they are fine, I should get my alibi set up. Rick pulled out a pen and grabbed a piece of paper from a nearby rack. To Whom It May Concern… crap! I got blood on this one. Rick looked up just in time to see one of the possessed students charging toward him. I’m BUSY! He said shoving the desk into the scary looking one. He pushed both demons out of the room and closed and locked the door. Good, 30 seconds to write it. To Whom It May Concern. Rob Smith will be missing the next two days… Rick looks at his injuries again. wait… three days of school due to the recent death of his great aunt… Roberta. There. Signed, Bobbie Smith. Okay, first, Blood-summoned, then, plant note in administration. Then, go home and bleed. But first… Rick breathed in deeply and concentrated for a moment. …back to the mission. I will try my damnedest to look normal. Rob timed the demon possessed student’s attempt to batter the door so that as they charged again, he opened the door. Now with the possessed students sprawled on the floor and out of his way, he ran across the hall in an attempt to find a place less student-infested to escape to. Lets see if I can make it around back and help them from another angle. He ran along the outside of the building looking in the windows, hoping to find the Blood-summoned. I wonder where they are… He then heard and saw the two explosions and heard someone screaming about a raise. Oh, there’s a nice doggy… He said aloud as he ran toward the source. I wonder if it’s clear enough now to activate my ‘gifts’… |

Bending space
|
Caleb walked through his house, making a bee line for his room. Going to the closet he moved several dust covered dust covers, the ones that contained his suits, out of the way. Then leaning down he pushed in a panel on his closet wall. It led into a crawl space. Inside it was a small Christian shrine done up to look demonic, though it contained no actual demonic symbols. The whole thing was actually just a decoy. Pulling up the carpet under his feet he revealed the purpose for the elaborate hoax, a safe.
The safe was designed to be opened from the top so it was perfect for this. Putting in the combination he opened it up and outwards. Kneeling in his closet head and arms in the crawl space he pulled out a small black address book, one of many things he kept inside there. One didn't easily part with ones past. Especially not a man like Caleb. Closing the safe back up he replaced the carpet and replaced the crawl space board. Caleb thumbed through it quickly, inside it held telephone numbers, P.O. Boxes, safe houses, meeting places, and addresses. Even a few banking numbers. It was his collection of information from various societal groups. It used to be like a bible to him. Placing it in the inner pocket of his trench coat he strode purposefully out of his home. He took two steps before he heard the sound. Far off, in the distance, Sirens blared. Normally he wouldn't have paid it any mind but today felt, bad. Looking down the hill across the houses he saw the school. Then from the school he heard explosions, saw school kids fighting. Frankly the entire thing just felt wrong to him. Opening his glove compartment he pulled out a pair of Binoculars. Checking out the school he saw little to tell him what was going on. Then however he saw a group of three students running full tilt out of the buildings and towards another group in the parking lot. The three students had all the signs of being possessed. Which could only mean one thing. Looking at the students in the parking lot his suspicions were confirmed. Among a group of several boys stood one girl. Though young woman was a more accurate term Caleb would never forget her as a little girl. She had the same cheekbones, the same nose, the same eyes. It was Laurella, getting onto a bike with no helmet. "I would have hoped she'd know better then that. I really hope those boys are protectors..." Deciding he didn't give a damn he ran back into the house Grabbing his sniper rifle off the rack he slammed a clip into the slot. Going back outside he set himself up right on his porch. Flipping open the site he took careful aim. If the children were simply possessed it wouldn't be necessary to kill them. All it would cost is 1 week of his life. "What is 1 less week for the sake of all humanity." Caleb fired one round. Admittedly it had been awhile sense he shot with that rifle. But thankfully he didn't have to be very accurate. The bullet impacted on the cement just under the foot of one of the three possessed students. There was a brief flash of white light, and then the three fell down to the parking lot, unconscious. A bullet buried in the ground marked the attack. As did the gunshot echoing from atop the hill. Though one more on a battle field wasn't likely to go unnoticed. Caleb was simply thankful none of his neighbors were home. Though the dogs all started barking like crazy.

Duane barely had time to reach safety before the explosion, and he rounded the corner just as the explosion rocked the hallway.
"Idiots",he murmured. "It isn't as if demon defense systems are hard to come by... If I'm alive when this is over I'll set it up myself." After composing himself, he spoke to Elissa. "Let me take care of this one boss, I'll escort the Jared kid to the PA system. You should try finding out the MoH's status", he tried saying this in the politest way possible, lest he annoy her. He took a look around the corner, acid canisters in hand. "I hope our friend is gone."

When they reached the trike Kase ran a quick hand over his "security system" deactivating the ward.
"Hop on, He won't hurt you" he said, patting the rear fender. Popping the trunk, He pulled out his Cel and pushed "5" Hopefully someone was home and would pick up soon.

"MoH had half a room full of guardians with her. She's probably miles away from this school right now. But that thing is here, right now, and there are living people who's lives are gonna end if we can't take it down or atleast slow it."
She sighed and groaned out, "I didn't even get to finish my cigarette..." before popping in another grenade, "Get Ready Duane."
