The Tyson fight is not so hard once you realize that you just need to jump really high over his punches.
...Still took me about 50 tries, not including all those times I died because the save is over a bottomless pit...

For Tyson,
Upper path, get past the cherries, next screen bring down the spikes near the top, then get on top of the spikes to skip a little aggravation. *whistles* I don't believe so. They're on two different paths aren't they? |

Your best bet with those is, ironically, to move as little as possible. They all fire at the same time, and if you let them get as close as possible to you then jump to another platform. Otherwise, they will continue to chase you to the next platofrm and restrict your way out.
Easier said than done, I know, but thats how you do it. Watching some videos helps, too.

I WANNA BE THE GUY: THE MOVIE: THE GAME: THE PICTURE BOOK: THE SPIKY CLIMB!
To refresh everyone's memories, over our last few updates, Bowser, Wart and Wiley all had their asses soundly kicked. Especially Bowser. With the Unit in our firm and unyielding grasp, we go onwards. Hmm, a room with a ceiling full of spikes on some sort of mechanism. I wonder what this could possibly do? No surprises here. That is just mean. Do you see how that block to the left of the big spike sticks up slightly? Stepping on it triggers the big spike. Jumping through that gap is a real pain - too high and you die, too low and you die. But I guess we're used to that by now. With a delicate touch and swiftness, we escape! Hmmmm, this place looks eerily familiar. Shoot the turrets, blah blah blah. You may have noticed that some of the spikes fall off in order to kill you. Climbing high, we slowly exit the Earth's atmosphere. Spotted anything unusual? That sniper shoots a lot of bullets. Fortunately I know his one weakness: bullets, fired from a gun. Some platforms on this route flip to screw you over. Now we're in space. I'll just summarise the dangers here. Remember kids: turrets are not your friends. Remember kids: BULLETS ARE FOR SHOOTING. Just proving that, yes, these blocks do fall. And now the reason why I called this update 'The Spiky Climb' becomes clear. It is fairly obvious what you need to do - those platforms slowly move to the top and back down again and you have to time your jumps to safely navigate the spike maze. Simple really. See. Looks like we're going inside again! Will Arhra panic about the realisation this route leads to Dracula? Find out next update!

Fuck, I hated that room. It took me days to get through it.
Edit: Not the one you ended on; that one was easy. The one before that, with the rising platforms.

I thought it was fun, strange enough.
Also, in the room you're in right now? Almost got through it all on my first go. That's where my prowess ends horribly, however. I still jump into spike right out the save point, and when they aren't even in the way. |
