So... the tetris keeps playing after you die and revive? And are you trying to stack the blocks yourself, or is it automatic?

Hey peoples. Sorry for the delay. The past week has been insanely busy, but I've finally set aside some time to get back on track with the Let's Play.

Last update we'd just finished climbing the Tetris tower of death. The exit takes us to...


THE HAPPY FUN DREAM LAND!

The music here is from Kirby. It makes me feel happy.

Once again we have slide rails! These ones are apparently some sort of vine or moss instead of black and yellow stripes.

To refresh your memory, when you jump into one, you start sliding down it. Hitting jump lets you jump off again. You can't double jump when you jump off one.

These are a little different from the ones in the skyscraper - you slide slower and they don't give you much momentum when you jump off. This lets you do the time honoured trick of leaping off the slider and then moving back onto it to gain some height.


Hmm, rocket propelled spikes? That's surely the weirdest spike related thing you could ever encounter!

Or is it?


Watch out for the spike of the regular falling variety once you jump off the slider.

And yes, you have to jump off that left facing slider, twist back over the spike in the middle and land on the slider on the other side. Tricksy.


Ah, this room has Delicious Fruits. I believe that's the first of them we've seen in this playthrough.


It is said that to eat one, you must knock it from the tree with a ten foot pole and then boil it three times to remove all the poison.

They come in many varieties and all will kill you. Some simply fall from the tree when you pass under them and crush you beneath their delicious, vaguely apple-like bulk.

The ones in this room home.

They're more like giant cherries anyway.


Yes, the spike pit has gotten up and is chasing you. This is a thing that is happening.


Also it can drill through walls.


Dodge those delicious fruits!


Always remember, unless escaping from Tourian take the high road.

To remind you, the high road in Tourian involves multi-Metroid hugging death.


That's more like it!

The Delicious Fruits have an annoying tendency of firing off at good angles to kill you in this room. Their firing time is based off the position of the spike pit, so it's possible to delay to dodge some.

Oh yeah, that cluster of three is from the previous room.


The Delcious Fruits here are of the regular falling variety mostly. You have to trigger them since they'll crush you if you just try and run straight through.


WHILE THIS IS CLOSING IN ON YOU.


And now we just use the sliders to avoid it. The spikes are there to avoid making things too easy, of course.


A mysterious cave?

I liked the clarification that "This is a thing that is happening". It'd be hard to understand/believe otherwise.

Really. Chased by a spike pit on wheels. That's definitely a first.
