I'm not sure how far the news has spread of the ice storm that has recently hit Arkansas and its surrounding states but I thought I'd share some photos of the devastation that has taken place.
I've been one of the fortunate few who have managed to keep my electricity for most of this past week.

Wow, we don't see much of that down here in Florida. Almost makes the hurricanes seem worth it..

Texas got one quarter of a inch...and a snow day!

Pfft, newbs. Last month we got 2 1/2 feet over the space of a week and still only had one snow day for the public schools.

Think about all the snow plows and ice trucks we have down here...4 inches could shut down our city. and my school district is always the last to close (not joking our school had someone slide in the ice and run into the sign out front and they still continued school)

I was without power for two days. My parents will be until "sunday or wednesday".

My car had like, 3 - 4 cm of ice covering it. It was awesome. The fact that my Calculus II class is going on like we didn't miss three days of classes is not, though. God, the studying...

I should take a picture of the scene around here. The way the trees look when you pull into my apartment complex is just beautiful.

Pfft, that's only .2 inches of snow per hour. That's easy enough to keep up with, so long as the plows/salt trucks don't wait until after the first 4 inches fell to get out.

Here in St. Louis, the winter storms tend to follow an interesting pattern of snow - freezing rain - snow - freezing rain. So, while the accumulation may not be 'impressive' sounding to you northern states, keep in mind this is less a lot of loose material, more like a thick shell covering everything that also likes to be stubborn.
