Matthias was personally glad to see the Swalot go down. It had been rather irritating with the constant attacks and he was far from above holding grudges. However this wasn't the time to celebrate. Phantomere was still about somewhere. And, while he hadn't mentioned it, he would do a great deal for a sample of Phantomere's DNA. The impressive pokemon's power would certainly help him with his own agenda. At combat: Matthias burst in with the rest and cursed quietly. He would have preferred time to prepare. However since it seemed they were going to be fighting a rather large number of opponents Blizzard would be the best option. Except that it wouldn't likely kill anything and there was a good chance of a syncstrike from the Omnisroth. So that was his first target. He beat his wings rapidly, sending a cloud of spores at the hulking figure. Sleep powder. Night night big guy. |

Impact entered the room still mulling over what Chizuru had said. Humans (or whichever part of them carried on in the netherworld) could be made demon by the influence of a certain creature? Fascinating. Dangerously close to relying on others for your power, but not too close. He could... live with it. Or not. He'd really need to discuss with... Mika, her name was? He needed more information. He had a very rigid worldview, and while this didn't disturb it, it certainly was a significant addition. But if he didn't hear anything he didn't like he'd be... open to this. Very open.
Of course, then he heard about the command gene and his wonderful imaginings of the power gained from being semidemonic were driven away by a strange mix between horror and perverse glee. Horror at having found the epitome of what he fough against, such an extension of an individuals power through unnatural abominations whose only purpose was to act as an extension of such power... And really, glee at the same thing. He had been right. Pokemon, the concept of "Pocket Monters", taken to its epitome, its logical conclusion, was truly and utterly abominable. And he'd be the one to end it. Because as far as he was concerned, as far as power of the Ruinous Hords went, "in the wrong hands' included anything other than whatever god would be willing to receive the wretched individual carrying the command gene. If he met him (or her), the decision to always carry a loaded firearm on his person would finally pay off, court-martials be damned. But, of course, before he could kill the final boss, he´d have to deal with the mini-boss first. Namely the Ruinous Detatchment. And the pokebrids as well. The Gardevoir seemed somewhat attractive, but ohgodwhatwashethinking. He´d kil them all. Of course, the order in which they´d die was the question. He heard Renny give his orders to attack, and prepared to give his own. Renny seemed to be taking out Phantomere, which was excellent, though he questioned his decision not to use Tsubasa´s assassination technique. Ah well, that was Renny´s battle. He should focus on his own. Matt was already using Sleep Powder against the Omnisroth, which was excellent. Sleeping Omnisroth meant harmless Omnisroth. He really hoped it´d affect it. Of course, what else could be done? He had considered whether to begin by taking downt the Omnisroth himself, but firstly Pierce had lost control of his Tyranitar, and secondly now that the Very Large Abomination was probably going to be asleep, there was no use waking it up by attacking. They could let it lie for a turn, while they took out some of the lower-tier ruin types, and prepared to focus fire on Omnisroth. He´d ignore the pokebrid for now, it seemed quite threatening, but at least it couldn´t syncstrike. Sooo... Time for orders. "Rachel! Could you use a helping hand on me? I´ll go for one of the Pulverots! Have your other pokemon attack a Narcham! Chizuru, support me? One hit should be enough to finish it off. Afterwards, have your Girantia follow up on Rachel´s Narcham, or have it attack the Phantomere, if it´s still alive. Both teams, let´s try to go for one-round kills whenver we pick a target. If an enemy survives, even if it´s damaged, Monokes might heal them. Very frustrating, I´d wager. Let´s try to avoid that happening." As he cried this he used his customary adrenaline boost, hefted the dragon slave, and charged one of the Pulverot. |

Left Team Synopsis (Impact/Pierce/Matthias/Rachel/Chizuru)
BGM: Disturbed's "Diefy" is now playing. Pierce's Pokémon: One Narcham is defeated. Weather Update: Sandstorm is in effect. Matthias: Omnisroth is asleep. Impact, Chizuru & Registeel (Rachel's): Pulverot A is defeated. Cradily (Wyatt's) & Hitmonlee (Wyatt's): Tyranitar (Pierce's) is defeated. Weather Update: Sandstorm is no longer in effect. Wyatt: Registeel (Rachel's) has taken good damage. Narcham x5: Matthias has all statistics reduced by five levels. Aw, shit. Pulverot: Impact has taken good damage and has attack and defense statistics lowered by two. Battle Update: All five Narchams are preparing the Syncstrike "Cooking Cutter." All Pierce could hear from Tsubasa before the battle kicked off was "Our Lady Shizuka is very nosy. She's weird like that, y'know?" And that's when the music kicked in. Huh, Rio wasn't needed for music, after all. Disturbed's "Diefy" started blasting in the large room. Pierce didn't have time to think about it. Tyranitar was already at it with a Narcham. Metagross finished off the target of Tyranitar's rage. Just before Tyranitar attacked, a sandstorm kicked up. Given that Tyranitar wasn't planning on returning to its Pokéball, this sandstorm was here to stay. The Omnisroth blinked several times as Matthias's Sleep Powder scattered on its giant face. It didn't so much lay down as it did crash down, rocking the room a little bit. Phantomere spared a glance at one of his strongest allies. "Hmph, useless layabout." Rachel heard Impact's order, but shook her head uselessly. "I'm sorry, but I can't. I have my hands full trying to keep Registeel and Metagross under control! It's like they've gone insane!" Damn it, that was true. With Rachel forced to have her legendary and pseudo-legendary Pokémon in the fight, she couldn't take any action herself. "Registeel, Flash Cannon on Impact's Pulverot! Metagross, Meteor Mash on a Narcham! Hop to it!" Impact's Pulverot was set up nicely by Flash Cannon, then Impact actually ran partway up the Pulverot's body, swinging his Dragon Slave in a broad arc and staining the faded carpet in the strange violet blood that all Ruin Pokémon had. When Impact reached the top, he kicked off. The Pulverot turned upwards to swat Impact out of the sky with a wild claw swing. "Oh, no you don't!" Chizuru shouted, rushing into the Pulverot and hammering it with two overhead tonfa swings. The Pulverot stumbled backward and fell. Chizuru dropped her tonfas and quickly stood on her hands, holding up her feet for Impact to land on. In one smooth movement, Chizuru kicked up with her supernatural strength, launching Impact ten yards into the air to come down with an epic crashing lunge, directly into the center of the Pulverot's sensory sphere. The Pulverot wasn't getting up from being punked like that, and while Impact may have wanted to high-five Chizuru for that epic maneuver, Chizuru was already busying herself with giving Giratina orders. Giratina was in its Origin Forme, which meant it was holding the Griseous Orb. Chizuru wasn't entirely certain which foe to make Giratina attack, but knew one thing: she could make Giratina do something else while that Gallade Pokébrid chose what Pokémon to use. "Giratina, Shadow Force!" Giratina's whole body distorted, then phased out of sight. Woe to the one it struck on the next turn. "You are but mindless, infectious children compaired to the absolute wisdom and authority that Beloved Faynoc wields!" Wyatt yelled before deploying two Pokémon of his own. A Cradily and a Hitmonlee. No theme there. Cradily (Rock/Grass) [Female] (Wyatt's Pokémon 1) Moves: Gastro Acid / Energy Ball / Ancient Power / Confuse Ray Ability: Suction Cups Hitmonlee (Fighting) [Male] (Wyatt's Pokémon 2) Moves: Close Combat / Mega Kick / Blaze Kick / Focus Blast Ability: Limber "Cradily, Ancient Power. Hitmonlee, Focus Blast." Both Pokémon put Tyranitar through the wringer, and try as Tyranitar might, he fell forward and turned into capture energy. Like turning off a light, the sandstorm suddenly vanished. "I don't like sand," Wyatt said simply, then buried his fist into the floor, creating a Focused Earthquake that rocked Rachel's Registeel. The lights on Registeel's body flashed on and off. Registeel had apparently accepted Wyatt's challenge. "Well, I don't think anyone likes that homosexual lisp you've got there, Wyatt." Rachel taunted. "You wound me, little girl." "I haven't wounded you, yet." Rachel said. "You'll know when I wound you." The five remaining Narchams all used Terror Weapon, lowering Matthias's statistics into the pit. Then their sensory spheres started to glow and they all stood upright. Funny thing was, only the Narchams were doing this. "When it's just Narchams preparing a Syncstrike, it's called Cookie Cutter," Tsubasa explained with urgency. "And no, you don't want to be the cookie. Since they all used Terror Weapon on the Venomoth Pokébrid there, you can bet he's going to get to experience what it's like first." The Pulverot got some revenge for its fallen brother by smacking Impact with a Body Wrecker, reducing Impact's physical attack and defense and hurting him quite a bit. ----- Right Team Synopsis (Renny/Charlotte/Shannon/Lola/Tsubasa) BGM: Disturbed's "Diefy" is now playing. Weather Update: Sandstorm is in effect. Lola & Pike (Charlotte's Manetric): Three Mononoke is defeated. Latios (Charlotte's), Shaymin (Renny's), Latias (Renny's), Tsubasa, Cacturne (Shannon's), Starmie (Shannon's) & Cerbraptor (Tsubasa's): Phantomere has taken great damage. Zombies x6: Latias has taken small damage. Lola has taken great damage. Cacturne and Starmie (Shannon's) have taken good damage. Pike has taken good damage. Breloom (Whitney's): Latias is paralyzed. Sandstorm: All combatants take trifling damage. Mononoke x3, Whitney, Persian (Whitney's), Harliette, Nidoqueen (Harliette's), Illumise (Harliette's) & Bad Poisoning: Latios has taken critical damage and is badly poisoned. Weather: Sandstorm is no longer in effect. Disturbed's "Diefy" is still in effect. Just as Disturbed's "Diefy" started playing throughout the room, Charlotte's attacks began. Latios inflicted a solid cut into Phantomere that vanished quickly. Phantomere flicked his scythe. "Ah, the legendary Pokémon have come to stop us again. Damn annoyances." Pike gathered dark energy into a spherical form, then hit a Mononoke with it. The Mononoke shivered and vanished, leaving only a distorted shriek of pain behind. Latias blasted Phantomere with Dragon Pulse, but despite its normally devastating effects against Ruin Pokémon, Phantomere seemed relatively okay. Was he not a Ruin Pokémon, or was he just that powerful? Lola gathered ice power into her hands and wielded it against the ghosts, sending two of them back to the netherworld. "Seriously, what is that monster made of?" Lola asked, referring to Phantomere. Tsubasa whipped out her arms and ten wires shot out, piercing Phantomere's body. She withdrew them, though they didn't seem to have much effect. Shannon didn't have to worry about legendary Pokémon force deploying. "Cacturne! Starmie! Front 'n' center!" Shannon didn't wait for them to materialize, either. "Cacturne, Sucker Punch! Starmie, Psychic!" It was an admirable assault, but Phantomere remained airborne, almost mocking the group's efforts. "Damn it, that son of a bitch is really strong. Why didn't you tell us about its strength, Tsubasa?" Shannon demanded. "It's our first time fighting one," Tsubasa warned. "Narchams, we've fought before. Pulverots, we've fought before. Omnisroths, we've fought before. But we're just as new to a Ruin General as you are." "Guess there's a first time for everything." But Tsubasa didn't look intimidated. Because she had a friend ready. Cerbraptor was a legendary Pokémon native to Honmyr, and was basically the bastard child of a famous three-headed canine guardian of Hell and a terrible ancient reptile. The result was some kind of black-scaled terror with three sightless heads featuring maws with innumerable teeth and the large amount of saliva dripping from each maw. "Cerbraptor, Twilight Purge." Cerbraptor roared with all three heads, momentarily drowning out of the music before blasting Phantomere with a trio of large, dark laser beams. Phantomere was pushed backward from the vicious assault, but he didn't go down. "Where did you get that Latios and Latias?" Whitney asked Renny and Charlotte. "Forget where they got those stupid Pokémon," the cheerleader said, standing up. As she slowly rolled towards the team on her rollerskates, she donned a hockey mask and picked up a rusty machete and a sawed-off double barreled shotgun from the dusty floor. "Hi, my name's Harliette. You know mind if I butcher you here and now, do you?" Whitney and Harliette produced two Pokéballs apiece and tossed them. Whitney's Pokémon were a Breloom and a Persian. Hmmm, no theme there. Harliette deployed a Nidoqueen and an Illumise. Her theme seemed to be Pokémon that only existed in a female gender. "I can count on you to fight them, right?" Whitney asked as she readied her own powers. "You give me the money," Harliette shrugged lightly. "I give you a neat, tidy pile of corpses. Everybody's happy. Well, except for the victims, of course. But they should've known better." Harliette assumed a surprisingly good combat stance. Seems like she'll be more of a fighter than originally suspected. Seriously, who takes a cheerleader on roller skates seriously until she picks up a machete and a shotgun? Breloom (Grass/Fighting) [Male] (Whitney's Pokémon 1) Moves: Giga Drain / Dynamic Punch / Stun Spore / Drain Punch Ability: Effect Spore Persian (Normal) [Female] (Whitney's Pokémon 2) Moves: Return / Night Slash / Power Gem / Feint Ability: Limber Nidoqueen (Poison/Ground) [Female] (Harliette's Pokémon 1) Moves: Super Power / Earthquake / Sludge Bomb / Toxic Ability: Poison Point Illumise (Bug) [Female] (Harliette's Pokémon 2) Moves: Bug Buzz / Zen Headbutt / Helping Hand / U-Turn Ability: Tinted Lens The three Mononoke went first, all of them swiping life force from Latios. The Zombies proceeded to randomly whip up on the enemy before them. Latias took a strike. Lola was pummeled by two Zombies. Starmie and Cacturne each suffered the wrath of one. Pike took the final beatdown. "Don't stand in the way of Beloved Faynoc's glorious pilgrimage!" Whitney shouted. "Breloom, Stun Spore on Latias! Persian, Night Slash on Latios! Ice Punch!" Whitney got down and dirty with her Pokémon. Latias was paralyzed and Latias took considerable damage from Persian and Whitney's combo. Latios was looking pretty hurt, but its anger at the Ruin General shown through. The legendary Pokémon were going to pull out all stops to win. "Don't relax yet, bitches. My turn." Harliette said, poising herself and then exploding forward in a burst of speed. "Nidoqueen, Toxic! Illumise, Bug Buzz! Down that damn dragon!" In short order, Latios was badly poisoned and took even more damage from Harliette and Illumise. ----- Phantomere Synopsis Phantomere: Used Signature Technique Essence Harvest. All allied combatants (that's you, unfortunately) take trifling damage and Phantomere is healed. Only small damage remains. "Essence Harvest! Hurrragh!" Phantomere rears his weapon arm back and hurls the scythe. The scythe gives off a sad song as it rapidly twists through the air. It's so fast! Even though the scythe started slicing into the fighters on Renny's side, the distant Impact couldn't dodge it. The scythe radiated the stolen life force when Phantomere recovered it. Then in one disgusting act, Phantomere's tongue poked out and ran along the long blade, absorbing the life force. A lot of the damage that Renny's team had dealt vanished in mere seconds. "Damn! Can we really beat 'im?" Rachel cried. "If you give in to doubt, you've already lost." Tsubasa said coldly. "No matter how bleak things seem, never give up. If you do, you've lost before you've even given it a chance." Rachel took a few seconds to absorb Tsubasa's wisdom. "You're right. I won't give up. Chief Rayleen wouldn't. I just have to ignore the fear." "Don't ignore fear," Chizuru said. "Fear is an important indication that will help you in life. But sometimes when it's unavoidable, you must overcome your fear. That's what real courage is." Rachel smiled. "Do you think I can become a ninja like you girls?" "Being a ninja isn't all it's cut out to be," Tsubasa said calmly. "It's just like Tsubasa-san says. Now if you were really good at electric guitar as well..." "Don't be a dumb girl," Tsubasa chided Chizuru with no hint of a grin. |

Renny watched with abject frustration as Phantomere healed itself back up almost to full with one attack, thus negating almost everything that was done toward it. The immediate attackers also took heavy damage.
"Guys, change of tactics! We going to take out his supports, or we'll never get last long enough to punish him." Renny evaulated all the opposition that was to be dealt with. The Ruin General, 4 pokemons and their respective owners, 3 ghosts and the zombies. "Tsubasa, those zombies seem pretty brainless and don't seem to have access to their moves. Stop them and everything else as they attack, but I'm sure the zombies are sure to fall for your web." He then looked toward the nurse who took a beating. He wanted to pull her back from the fight but he'd need every bit of support he could manage at this particular point, now that the opening advantage had been removed. "Lola! Just one more time while Tsubasa is covering you! Wipe those ghosts out! Shaymin, you help her out! Seed Flare! Latias, hold together! Psychic that Nidoqueen!" Shaymin once again drew upon all that was dirty and naughty in the house, as the creaky bits of wooden floor around her started to grow mossy. Energy seeped inside her seeds ungoing transformation which unleashed as a potent burst toward one of the Mononokes. Latias's flight became loppy and hard to control as its wings strained under the paralysis, but her mind was as sharp as ever as it focused the intensity of its indigination against the poison point queen, intent on mentally lifting the heavy pokemon and slamming her hard. In her imagination, she would have loved to fling her opponent toward trainer as some sort of deep-seethed payback. ------------------- Tsubasa to use Signature ability Wire Web to block all physical attacks and effectively harm and flinch foes it blocks. Should be useful for buying a turn against the zombies as well as other attacks. :3 Lola and Shaymin to use Blizzard and Seed Flare respectively on the remaining Mononokes. STAB in Shaymin's case. Latias to use Psychic on Nidoqueen assuming it get past the paralysis issue. STAB and super effective. |

Charlotte let out an annoyed growl. This thing was supposed to be powerful! But apparently the Harlequin ghost across the room hadn't gotten the memo and had just trounced the legendary. Maybe she would trade it in later for something better.
"Latios, while your still in the land of the living, open up a psychic on the breloom," Latios really gave no indication of acknowledgment to his new trainer, and instead just went along with the mental assault on the Breloom, ignoring his pain. The Breloom probably would last long, consider it carried a double weakness to the psychic. "Spitz attack the Nidoqueen with a super fang," she ordered. It seemed that Renny and Lola were handling the Mononoke, which would return health to Latios. After that is finished, Latios can deliver a finishing blow on the damaged Nidoqueen. Spitz, followed the order, and charged out to make his attack. Last edited by Bard The 5th LW; 03-29-2010 at 06:44 PM. |

Impact frowned. These Pulverot seemed to have a real penchant for using their body wrecker on him. And what was worse was that the attack was effective. The damage was survivable, but he could never fight on properly afterwards. Though Matt was worse off than him. He hadn't taken any damage, but having your stats reduced across the board, that couldn't be good. Still, their position wasn't too bad. And now that everyone had their pokemon under control (he hoped), they could actually start to win ground. But first things first.
"Chizuru! I think we could all use a good meal!" He didn't like using her power already, but there wasn't really much of a choice. Matt had been crippled, he himself had been weakened severely, and everyone had taken some degree of damage. Now he'd just have to make sure they didn't take more. The Narcham were prepping a syncstrike, and he really didn't want to take chances with that. Usually, he would have had Chizuru taunt them, but she was busy cooking. There were other options, though. "Matt, sleep powder again, please. Hit the surviving Pulverot this time. Chizuru, can you direct your Girantia's attack so it hits a Narcham? And then have it use the same again, please. We'll need it next turn. Pierce, leave your tyranitar for now. Deploy Kingdra instead. Hit one of the Narcham with a dragon-type attack, I'm hoping it dies in one hit. I'll one-hit another Narcham. If your and Rachel's Metagross team up they should be able to take out another Narcham. Then it's up to Registeel to finish the last one." If everything went well, and Kingdra, Girantia, Registeel and himself managed to one-hit-ko their targets, then the only attacks they'd get hit by next round would be the pokebrid's. He somehow doubted that everything would go to plan, but he allowed himself a glimmer of hope. They might not all die. |

Pierce took Tyranitar's pokeball in his hand and brought it to Rachel. "Hold off on healing him until all the Ruin-types are down." He told her. He really didn't need Tyranitar force-deploying into a disadvantageous situation again, especially if he wasn't fully healed.
"Pierce, leave your tyranitar for now. Deploy Kingdra instead. Hit one of the Narcham with a dragon-type attack, I'm hoping it dies in one hit." Those were Impact's orders. Pierce had wanted to save Kingdra for later, and deploy Skarmory instead. Kingdra was his secret weapon against Ruin-types, and he didn't want to risk her going down before she got a crack at Phantomere. So now Pierce had to decide whether or not to follow orders. Impact's orders had been good so far, except for that mistake during the last battle. Still, he didn't trust Impact. Reluctantly, he grabbed Kingdra's pokeball. "Kingdra, Dragon Pulse! Metagross, Meteor Mash!" Kingra formed a turquoise ball of energy in front of it's snout and launched it at a Narcham, while Metagross decked a different one hard.

Matthias wasn't particularly fond of this tactic as it left him painfully vulnerable but now wasn't the time for them all to do their own ideas. As such he'd follow Impact's orders, his wings beating rapidly again, sending the same dust cloud toward the Pulverot. If all went well this would only hurt a lot instead of almost killing him. At least he had Chizuru's cooking to look forward to. Its regenerative properties may very well save him after the upcoming strike.
Sleep Powder. The dust cloud being succesfully sent he braced himself for the inevitable pain. He hated being a target. |

Team Alpha (Impact/Pierce/Matthias/Rachel/Chizuru)
Chizuru: Used Signature Technique Five Star Flash Feast Frenzy. All characters are restored to full health (except Tyrantiar, sob). All debuffs are removed. A regenerative, immunizing, and debuff negating effect are administered. Giratina (Chizuru's): Narcham B has taken severe damage. Impact, Registeel (Rachel's), Metagross (Rachel & Pierce's) & Kingdra (Pierce's): Narcham C, D, & E are defeated. Bitches got owned. Matthias: Pulverot is now asleep. Wyatt, Cradily & Hitmonlee (Wyatt's) & Narcham x2: Chizuru has taken critical damage. Battle Update: Tsubasa and Chizuru are charging up for a type of attack they call a "Signature Sequence". "Here's Chizuru Suzuki, bringing you the love that'll keep you warm and happy all night long! Signature Technique! Five Star Flash Feast Frenzy!" One had to wonder what Magatama would give someone the power to prepare a fancy full course into mere minutes. But Chizuru did it without even looking tired afterwards. "Eat up, there's plenty for seconds!" It's nearly impossible to even think about a fight when the manifestation of Chizuru's love is right behind you. Everyone dug in like demons and enjoyed both the perfect flavoring and recovery benefits before dragging their senses back to the reality of the situation. None of them pondered how they managed to eat anything when they had another big meal just about fifteen minutes ago. Chizuru's cooking was far too good to let go to waste because of absurd things like already being stuffed. Chizuru didn't wait for appreciation. "Giratina, tear 'em apart!" Giratina phased back into reality right above one of the Narchams. Before the Narcham could react, Giratina flew into it and sliced it up with edged shadows, scattering its strange entrails across the carpeting. "Beautiful, Giratina!" That Narcham got back up. "Aw, fudgesticks." But it lost its focus and couldn't maintain its role in the Syncstrike. "Eh, that's something." Impact charged a healthy Narcham, ducked a swipe, then sliced it across its horrid face. He knocked it over with a thrust kick, then drove his Dragon Slave right into its throat. Impact stepped forward and, bracing himself, dragged the blade forward, slicing the Narcham's entire head in two. He retreated to avoid retaliation by its friends, flicking the blood off his sword. Impact was now enjoying an adrenaline rush, and was having quite a bit of fun killing these disgusting freaks. Rachel worked with Pierce, allying Registeel with Kingdra and her Metagross with his. Registeel's Flash Cannon joined Kingdra's Dragon Pulse while both Metagross brought their Narcham down with a double dosage of Meteor Mash. Another two bite the dust. The Pulverot tried to swat away the sleep powder, but didn't have much luck with its stubby claws. Just like the Omnisroth which remained asleep, the Pulverot fell to the ground like a ton of bricks. Matthias once again proved that not all battles were won by dealing the most damage. The Narchams, their Syncstrike now useless and their target now fully healthy, took out their rage on Chizuru. They unleashed a combined Bloody Flurry on the sexy ninja, spilling a great deal of blood. Even though Chizuru's wounds healed quickly, she didn't look okay after the deed was done. And Wyatt was pissed as well. "Cradily. Hitmonlee. Kill her." Cradily smacked Chizuru with an Energy Ball while Hitmonlee struck her in the stomach with a Mega Kick, making Chizuru double over and fall to her knees. Wyatt charged and unleashed a Focus Blast, slamming Chizuru into the wall behind her. Chizuru fell out of the small crater, clutching her stomach. "Chizu-chan! Are you alright?" Tsubasa asked, very concerned for her dear friend. Chizuru looked up and wiped the blood dripping from her chin. "Tsubasa. Signature Sequence." Tsubasa looked grim, but nodded. Then she turned to Renny and Impact. "Mister Renny. Mister Slayer. We're going to be preoccupied the next round. Don't worry, you'll love what happens next. This is the true power of bonds." It was then that Tsubasa and Chizuru both assumed the same stance. It was like those stances one saw ninjas do in anime and manga when they were channeling chakra 'n' stuff like that. Chizuru's magic was brown. Tsubasa's was white. Something tells you that they're about to pull out all the stops on the next turn. ----- Team Bravo (Renny/Charlotte/Shannon/Lola/Tsubasa) Tsubasa: Uses Signature Technique Wire Web. Renny's team is protected from melee attacks unless someone cuts the wires. Don't worry, allies won't be cut. Lola & Shaymin (Renny's): Remaining Mononoke are defeated. Pike (Charlotte's Manetric) & Latias (Renny's [paralyzed]): Nidoqueen has taken severe damage. Tactical Update: Paralysis is more effective against weakened Pokémon. Latios (Charlotte's): Breloom (Whitney's) is defeated by Testament Drive. Latios is defeated by Bad Poisoning. Tactical Update: When a legendary Pokémon is defeated in a battle with a Ruin General, that Pokémon will use a Testament Break and inflict immense damage with an original move. Starmie (Shannon's): Nidoqueen (Harliette's) is defeated. Wire Web: Two Zombies are defeated. Four Zombies have taken severe damage. They have flinched. Persian: The Wire Web is cut. Enemy Pokémon can hit Team Bravo with melee attacks now. Whitney, Heracross (Whitney's), Vespiquen & Illumise (Harliette's): Latias has taken critical damage. Paralysis is very effective, now. Harliette: Starmie (Shannon's) has taken severe damage. Cacturne (Shannon's): Harliette has taken good damage. Battle Update: Tsubasa and Chizuru are charging up for something called a "Signature Sequence." "Hey, that's pretty clever," Tsubasa agreed, then knelt. "Signature Technique! Wire Web!" The wires were very difficult to see in the dim and general lighting. "Be careful. Our Pokémon and allies can be cut as well if they forget where the wires are." Lola and Shaymin had no trouble finishing off the remaining Mononoke. Renny easily understood why their side had two enemy trainers instead of one like Impact's side. The undead were a lot easier to defeat than the Ruin Pokémon. Latias had surprisingly little problem fighting its paralysis and delivering its psychic assault to Nidoqueen, but not before waiting as Pike delivered a Super Fang on her so as not to somewhat waste the damage. "They're not bad at all," Harliette complimented them. "They're the Pokémon Advanced Tactics and Counterterrorism Agency. They know how to work together, or are supposed to. And I thought I had that thing paralyzed," Whitney groaned. Harliette gave a long-suffering sigh. "Paralysis works a lot better on badly wounded Pokémon. That stupid Latias has barely taken any damage. Of course it's going to have little trouble fighting paralysis. It's still got tons of energy." The homicidal cheerleader had some brains beneath her wealth of pink hair. So the more health a Pokémon has, the less potent paralysis is, eh? Charlotte may not have had much for Latios, and Latios's attack on Breloom did little to impress beyond the norm. Confusion wasn't even applied. Pitiful. Then something happened. The poison ate away at Latios' last ounce of health, and then Latios suddenly radiated golden light, illuminating the entire room is its warming glow. "That...that's a Testament Drive!" Tsubasa gasped as Latios, despite having been defeated, remained in the battle and used an impossible move. Latios overwhelmed Breloom with psychic power, then smashed into it with all the force of one royally pissed-off dragon. Right after that attack, Latios' light died away and he returned to the Pokéball. Breloom, having suffered the wrath of a legendary Pokémon's unyielding rage, returned to Whitney's Pokéball. "What the hell was that!?" Whitney demanded. "We thought it was a fluke," Tsubasa began as though answering Whitney's question. "During a battle against a Ruin Pokémon we've never seen before, Chizuru's Giratina was defeated. It then shined with golden light and used a move Chizuru didn't know it had. Mika named it Testament Drive, the awesome power that the legendary Pokémon of the world wielded to defeat the Ruin Pokémon and their Ruin General leaders. So, we did fight a Ruin General before, after all." "Hmmm," Harliette said. "Legendary Pokémon ain't half bad if they have a final attack like that. This battle's getting exciting and we haven't even warmed up yet." Shannon cracked her knuckles. "Starmie, Hydro Pump! Cacturne, Focus Punch!" Hydro Pump dropped Nidoqueen cold. Shannon didn't even smile. Whitney deployed her next Pokémon. Hey, a Heracross. Those are pretty damn rare in Honmyr. Pokémon with no evolutions usually are. Harliette deployed hers. A Vespiquen. Yep, another female-only Pokémon. Heracross (Bug/Fighting) [Male] (Whitney's Pokémon 3) Moves: Megahorn / Close Combat / Aerial Ace / Take Down Ability: Guts Vespiquen (Bug/Flying) [Female] (Harliette's Pokémon 3) Moves: Attack Order / Power Gem / Slash / Destiny Bond Ability: Swarm The Zombies were just as stupid as Renny believed, though he almost still couldn't believe how stupid they turned out to be. Two of the Zombies actually died trying to make their way through to their enemies, falling to the floor in cleanly sliced chunks. The other Zombies lost parts of their arms and couldn't really accomplish much. They seemed to be thinking about their situation, because they did stop. His hope wasn't granted against the trainers. They learned quickly from the stupidity of the Zombies. "Persian, Night Slash! Cut those wires!" Persian bounded towards Tsubasa's Wire Web, then stopped short and cut openings in the protective barrier until nothing was between the two groups anymore. Oh, well. The web did a good job of keeping the zombies from attacking (even killing a couple) and making Persian waste its turn. "Heracross, Megahorn!" Heracross hit Latias hard, and Whitney followed it up with Shadow Ball. Renny followed their logic. Hurting Latias would make the paralysis more effective. "Vespiquen, Attack Order! Illumise, Bug Buzz!" More damage piled onto Latias, especially when Vespiquen's Attack Order became a critical. Latias was barely hanging on. Instead of finishing the job, Harliette rolled forward and sliced up Starmie, then finished with a double-barreled blast of the shotgun. Just as Harliette turned to return to her spot, Cacturne clocked her with the Focus Punch, which never hits until the last. "Ugh! You fucking bitch, I'll bleed you dry for that." "I've already got someone trying to bleed me dry," Shannon retorted, not looking at Charlotte. "You'll have to get in line." Tsubasa turned towards Chizuru in deep concern for her friend. Chizuru had taken a severe beating. "Chizu-chan, are you alright?" Tsubasa asked, scared about the damage Chizuru suffered. Chizuru looked up and wiped a trail of blood that trickled from her mouth. "Tsubasa. Signature Sequence." Tsubasa nodded grimly, then turned to Renny. ----- Phantomere Synopsis: Phantomere uses Sinister Slash, cutting the current health of all allies (once again, that's you) by three quarters. "You're not bad at all. I had feared that mankind and Pokémon would have waned in strength and resolve throughout the eons, but it's heartwarming to know that such isn't the case. Unfortunately, my strength and resolve have not waned, either. Behold! Sinister Slash!" Phantomere slowly brought his greatscythe across his body, then flicked it. A massive wave of dark energies engulfed the room, cutting both team's current health by three-quarters. It was like the move Super Fang was used twice on everybody at once. Thank god it wasn't used at the start of the attack or a lot of people would've fallen. Chizuru's cooking healed Impact's side somewhat, but that was still very dangerous. Tsubasa and Chizuru were still channeling their powers. Last edited by Astral Harmony; 03-30-2010 at 04:57 AM. |

Renny watched with a sense of awe and respect as Latios managed to muster the personal drive to summon the tempest that was Testament Drive.
"Mister Renny. Mister Slayer. We're going to be preoccupied the next round. Don't worry, you'll love what happens next. This is the true power of bonds." "It doesn't matter to me either way as long as both of you are ok! Do what you can for each other! We'll try to do our part!" Analysing the field, Renny was slightly more confident that the opponent's forces were being cut down bit by bit. But he would like it even more if the field was more to their favor. "Shaymin, Latias. We're getting rid of the zombies! Seed Flare! Dragon Pulse! Lola, pull back and rest up. Try reviving Latios! I wonder if it is possible for this Testament Drive to be used repeatably. " Latias struggled hard to fight the good fight against her body. It would have been so much easier to just give into the seductive urge to rest, but she still attempted to charge her dragon beam. Shaymin's flowers decorating her body like brooches beamed with that familiar energy that threathened to engulf the zombie and purify the corpse back into the earth which it belonged. --------------- Shaymin does STAB Seed Flare on zombie. Latias attempts to do STAB Dragon Pulse on zombie. Request Lola to hang back from the fight and resume support role, focusing on reviving Latios as part of experiment to see if Testament Drive is reusable. |
