True, I do tend to min-max, but I don't mind if others do it too. ^^ It's like I would like the entire group to be "Team Super Awesome" while fighting off super powerful stuff while our abilities are just as competitively powerful, each time redefining "Turn the Knob up to 11".

Personally, when we encounter the big bad Ruin type, I was planning to have everyone use helping hand on Impact and then use the stamina boost. If we have 3 helping hands, and the attack is 4x effective, then I'll be dealing 27x normal damage, equivalent to a 3510 damage attack.
That min-maxed enough for you? ^^ And wait, does focus give an extra damage multiplier? I don't see anything about that... If anything, attacks that hit more than one pokemon should be 25% weaker than normal, cause that's the platinum ruleset, isn't it? |

I demand recognition on the entire "Helping Hand' idea which was totally my idea and used to great effect. ^,^
(You know, so people don't retroactively steal credit from me again.) =P Last edited by Menarker; 03-13-2010 at 10:37 PM. |

I would have suggested using it sooner, but I wasn't aware that it stacked. I thought that each attack would simply increase the attack's power by 50% of its base value, I didn't know that we were treating it as a 1.5 multiplier.
Though yes, credit, very well. |

No, I hadn't taken Tyranitar's Sand Stream into account, but I will try very hard to remember to do so in the future. My apologies.
Characters can switch with each other and still attack. Focus gives an extra damage multiplier of 1.5x to attacks that must target multiple Pokémon when multiple Pokémon are present like Earthquake, Explosion, Discharge and Blizzard. This can also be used with non-combat abilities like Growl and Heal Block, amplifying their effects but restricting those effects to only one Pokémon. |

Ah, right. Didn't see where you had written that. But never mind, I should know better than to interfere in the affairs of trainers.
Also, AB, I hope you realize that, since Impact went easy on the old man, but didn't manage to knock him out, every battle master/mistress from here on is going to be met with absolutely no mercy. Also, I've been thinking about how we could better even the field between slayers and trainers, and one thing I've come up with is a kit that automatically administers potions. Like, maybe a super potion (the one that heals 200) every two or three turns (without him needing to waste an attack), and he can hold up to 6 of them. I thought it could take up an armor slot, or even two, and its purpose would be to just give him some additional endurance, which he'd need in one-on-one combat with a trainer. Consider it for the next upgrade? ^^ |

I was curious about who in the group was capable of using Helping Hand since I thought for a moment that only Lopunny, Renny and perhaps Rachel could use it...
But it turns out that all the main members of the Watchmen except Matthias and Impact can use it directly. :3 Renny: Umbreon Pierce: Blaziken Charlotte: Arcanine Matthias: *Unable except through Mimic* Rachel : Pikachu can use it Lola: Lopunny can use it (This list doesn't include other possible supporters such as the Thirteen Eevee Threat, which each could learn it in the Eevee stage of evolution. Other pokemons can be included via the use of Sketch or Mimic) Nice if you want to use it as some sort of cliche Spirit Bomb or "Combine all our Powers". =P Although, can you imagine that Pierce or Charlotte would use those move slots for Helping Hand in character, seriously? ^,^ Last edited by Menarker; 03-14-2010 at 02:34 AM. |

6 1.5 multipliers? If they stack, that'd add up to 17.13. Multiply that by two, for two attacks (I'm assuming it gets used on Impact), and by 4, for quadruple effectiveness against any ruin type other than ruin/steel.
This adds up to an equivalent of 137 attacks. Factor in Impact's equivalent level (70, I think), and you end up with the fact that even if his opponent's defense was ten times his attack, he'd be doing over 1000 damage. (Formula: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Damage) And considering that Shannon would probably be contributing as well, that becomes even more excessive. ... Oh Ooooomnisroth... Where aaare you? ((And for those of you who're asking why Impact should get ubercharged, well, do YOU have a 260-damage, dragon-type attack? No? Well, shut up then!)) |

That'd probably be overkill, even for Omnisroth.

Alternatively, we could use the helping Hand on something with AOE to wipe the field pretty clean. Blizzard, Heat Wave, Discharge, maybe even Twister. :3
