Well you don't just fill out an internet form or anything. There are also restrictions, I actually find it a bit surprising that this guy was allowed to change his name so completely. I've never changed my name though, so I'm not 100% sure what it involves.

I mean I wouldn't be so surprised if it was just his middle name or something. Like I just had the idea to change my middle name to Derpy. And they'd propably let me.

Ah, jeez. I was reading that thread a while ago, too. Even the bronies on ponychan thought the whole thing was a bit... silly? Strange? I'm looking for a stronger word here.

Anyhow, from reading the comments it seems that he's sticking with his original name for everything else and this is just what he's legally called now, so... I don't know.
