Heh, I'm used to using the term "kids" to refer exclusively to John, Rose, Dave, and Jade. I haven't gotten into the habit of including the reset kids in the definition.

Yeah it's different cause I give enough of a fuck about original-recipe JRDJ to give a fuck about their alternate selves, unlike the alternate selves of a bunch of characters I hadn't even met before meeting their alternates.

That's a poor comparison, though. Jake has more in common with John and Jane has more in common with Jade. Similarly, Dirk is more like Rose than he is Dave, and Roxy is more like Dave than Rose, though it's not as obvious in terms of appearance. They're simply all locationally displaced in accordance with the guardian/kid reversal from the reset.

So yeah, Jake is way better than Jade, but he's not better than John. Furthermore, Jade is better than Jane, Rose is better than Dirk, and Dave is better than Roxy (though not by much).
