But honestly, I think we (everyone who voted) lynched Sonic for the right reasons, those being that his role was a catch 22 in that although he couldn't be targetted at night and could only be killed via lynch, we would never be able to get confirmation on what his role is. So we kinda were suckered into it. Therefore...

Okay, of the OctoberRaven voters, at the moment I'm the most suspicious Of Cid, B_real, and Moogle. Not enough for a vote yet (not even enough for a FoS, to be honest), but I need a few things straightened out.

I... don't like this reasoning, but I can't quite pick out why. To me, having a townie around that can't die at night seems VERY helpful. Mafia and cult usually need to get a certain percentage of the town killed/converted, right? And having an unkillable townie skews it a bit in the town's favor; correct me if I'm wrong here. To me, it just seems like an odd bit of reasoning, but maybe I'm just not seeing it. Tell me, yes/no?

No you're right. An unkillable townie is helpful. If the mafia/cult know about him it is much less helpful cause then can just avoid targeting him but there is an increased change they'll slaughter each other. So while he pretty much neutralised his role there was still help and we had townie who was safe.

It was more or less a statement of Irony. Because roleclaims on day 1 are pointless. And should you absolutely HAVE to roleclaim anything on day 1, don't roleclaim a role that has absolutely zero chance of being confirmed. And even though he claimed that night ability, if there's no way for us to be able to confirm he's town aligned, he could have just as easily not been sonic as any other character who could have a similar type ability. Hence why I voted.

A "townie" who we would never have had confirmation as to whether he actually was a townie or not had we not lynched him. So we would have always had that little doubt in the back of our heads as to whether or not he was scum or not.

Could you explain this to me a little more? It seems like that if OctoberRaven was telling the truth, then the vig should go after him, which would have wasted a nightkill. This seems a little suspicious.

Okay, I wasnt exactly clear on this one, I must admit.
Basically what I meant was, that I agreed with the logic presented at this point versus OctoberRaven. But, if someone is presented as being very powerful, you do not want to be the first or the last to vote for that person, so you avoid their kickback powers they are likely to have. My thinking was, if being lynched didnt benefit a person or a faction, then why would they jump around yelling "Lynch Me!" like that?
