I pfft once more, as 5 minutes is more time than I need to get roaches, and the obligatory single spore crawler for vision.

Arcanum would dive into a lake to save a drowning girl from a sinking car, without even stopping to think about how dangerous it was. I think you're one of the five people who know to put a detector up near their minerals, because nobody ever does.

Well I'm approaching the end of the campaign, and final exposition aside, I'm not really feeling the complaints lodged by DFM and so on. Maybe the slightly non-linear approach to the gameplay just gave me a different impression? Jimmy doesn't seem like he wants to save Kerrigan at all at first. He would regret having to kill her but clearly will for the greater good. He only changes his game when Zeratul comes in and tells him the entire universe is gonna go all Ice-9 if he doesn't save her.

Overall the story is pretty okay. I'm loving the upgrade system and everything. On the other hand, the missions are all over the board in quality for me. Some seem genuinely fun. The Gabriel Tosh mission where you kill stuff and two AIs go at it DOTA style was awesome. Contrast that to the three, four, maybe five missions now where they are nearly identical to missions from Starcraft. Not okay, Blizzard, not okay!

^^^ Agreed. Tho, I think I MIGHT also agree with the whole "Tychus and Jim, gettin' their brawl on in Valerian's ship while Valerian himself gets his 'mysterious benefactor' on as his men get turned into meat" was a LITTLE on the gratuitous, and dumb side.
But hey, seriously? That's the worst complaint about the sequel to what some consider to be the best video game ever made? Could be worse... Could be WAY worse.

edit: Although, who here also thinks that if you're going to limit your visibility substantially by putting on a giant visored helmet that MAYBE...? You might NOT want to paint a giant white skull on the front? You know..? Like say you're gonna go out riding your motorcycle, and you think, hey, why don't I paint my helmet first? Like that? Maybe not such a good idea?

Finally beat the campaign. I found the last mission kind of abrupt, but that might be because I took a break before it and only played it two days later.

Really, there's not too much I can complain about in terms of a single player experience. Now I need to get all the rust off myself and try my hand at multiplayer again.
