Well, that is kinda something I'd rather wait until Gem comes back.
Anyhow, the reason why it's different from a normal attack is because you use the stats of your attacker for both elements. So let's say we're fighting a pokemon with super high defense, like Steelix. So you need to attack with special attack stat. But your only pokemon with super effective moves for some reason has the wrong attack type to be effective (An attack type which Steelix is tough against). You're effectively transfering the attack type to a different pokemon who has the proper attack stat (Special attack) to use it more effectively. Anyhow, not saying no to your suggestion, but waiting for Gem, since I thought it was decided quite a while ago. ^^: |

Well, it was my fault for only picking up on it now.

Well, we'll get to that a bit later.
Anyhow, some thoughts of Trainer Actions for Renny Inspiration: Reduce the rage cost of the next ability that costs rage that one of Renny's pokemon uses by 10. Said ability can stack but cannot be carried over toward the next round. Attentive care: Restore the health of both his pokemons by 30% (Copy of your technique, I know) I'm also thinking of another one, but I'm stuck on it... Guiding Eye: A pokemon forfeits their action to aid an ally with their technique via guiding them with enhanced senses or abilities. Target ally gains the benefit of Lock On and ??? Since most of our moves never miss in the first place, I wanted to add something extra to it to make it a worthwhile thing. Lock On by itself isn't very useful in the setting we are in by itself. Oh, in case you're wondering what I mean by enhanced senses... Swampert has POWERFUL eyes and can detect atmospheric changes (can detect storms). Togekiss has that luck aura thing. Mollesk's movelist involves some psychic moves and otherwise cosmic abilities. Umbreon is the mysterious dark type with good eyesight and... it's mysterious! Magnezone guides with robotic precision/calculation. Shaymin... I'll just say has some sort of legendary pokemon gut feeling or something. :3 Last edited by Menarker; 09-19-2010 at 11:26 PM. |

Pierce already has a skill called Inspiration in his upgrades. Other than that, what do you mean when you say "Said ability can stack but cannot be carried over toward the next round."?
Attentive Care is nice, but I dunno. I'd say drop it to 25%, since my Trainer Actions only affect one target for 50%, but 25% may be too small a heal. As for Guiding Eye, I dunno, maybe make it bypass protections?

As for your comment on the first technique, one of Renny's upgrades at Breeder 1 is an extra action, which has to be a trainer action. So he can either do two trainer actions per turn, or a trainer action and either a pokebrid action or a slayer accessory. So long story short, If Renny has that upgrade and intends to use both trainer actions on this move, it can stack to reduce the cost of the next rage ability of that chosen pokemon by 20. However, that action must be performed during that turn, or the benefit is lost. And piercing protection... doesn't seem to appeal to me. I was thinking a boost of some sort or double the chance of triggering whatever secondary effect would come with the move used. Yeah... that sounds good. ^^ A built in Serene Grace effect. Oh.
Huh. Totally forgot about Group Hug. So I guess Attentive Care is okay. As for Renny getting to take 20 Rage off an ability... I'd suggest Geminex for that one.

Guiding Support: A pokemon forfeits their attack to aid an ally with their attack via guiding them with enhanced senses or abilities. Target ally gains the benefit of Lock On and Serene Grace. (Move will not miss (thus negating even 100% evasion) and has double chance of triggering status conditions or effects that happen some of the time.)
What you think of that? For the ability that reduces rage, it would only apply to Pokemon abilities (Focus, Divide, Testament Drive). That and in order to reduce it by 20, Renny would have to use that same ability twice as opposed to any of the others. Last edited by Menarker; 09-19-2010 at 11:43 PM. |

Still, reducing Divide's cost by 20 is a hell of a lot of encouragement to spend both actions on it.
As for Guiding Support, dunno. Mimicking an ability might be too much.

We're already kinda bending the rules about mimicking with some of your techniques, like the 50% heal (Recover) and Mock (Follow Me). The pokemon doesn't get to attack as a trade off.
But that's an action to consider for later (Since Renny only has 2 now), so we have time to wait. |

Eight, well, make Bard post his Trainer Actions, or Charlotte's gonna be stuck doing crappy Trainer Attacks forever.
