( why the fuck did anyone in the real world let Saito near an F14 and WHY THE FUCK did he know how to pilot one?)
I remember the show explaining this by now so either I'm wrong or you missed it. So, click this next spoiler only if you think you've gone past the point that you should know how it all works.

When Louis summoned Saito he became her familiar, right? Well since she's a special mage she gets a special familiar. The glowing on his hand is part of his whole Void Familiar thing, he's a master at using any weapon he picks up or even touches. Doesn't matter where or when the weapon is from. He knows how to pilot the fighter plane because it's also a weapon.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year olds life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.

Yeah Tera, Zero no Tsukaima sometimes was that kind of affect on people.

Also instant weapon mastery is part of what makes Saito so damn awesome.

I'm gonna assume you fuckers hate this because it doesn't have moé and lolis and like it's space battles but not really because they are in the sand. Well screw you jerks, this is manime. Stuff like this is what I envision when I hear the term Star Trek anime, not fucking Boring Space Not Pirates.
That's kinda insulting, dude. Liking sci-fi and cute things aren't mutually exclusive. You'll make Haro cry. Is there anything more pathetic than the simulated electronic tears of a robot ball? I think not.

And Moretsu has a plot, now. It just took an entire season.

Also, I'm glad to hear someone else enjoyed Chihayafuru. It was consistently entertaining every week for half a year. That counts for something.

I just watched eight straight hours of animu. I may have deleted some memories in order to not let my brain get fried by all the stupidity. That still doesn't explain why they let Saito anywhere near that plane.

Now that Chihayafuru is over I'm stuck watching real life matches.

Moretsu is great so far. Even when it didn't really have a plot.

Well, yeah, but most people aren't into space cartoons for, like, the everyday operation of a space ship in peace time. Or, if they are, they're looking for something closer to reality than Moretsu. But I thing reducing the "glamorous" profession of piracy to a stage show is funny. I can deal with knowing that the ship isn't going to get trashed because it's well established that everyone would die if that happened. Actually, that's one of the things I like a lot, that it's put out there in the open that space travel, even routine space travel, carries a risk of dying horribly.

But, yeah, no big navel battles or robot fights, which are usually the appeal of space shows, so it's not delivering what most people signed on for. Or, at least most of us who were unfamiliar with the novels. That's much better than the instructional matches that came up in _mike's recommended videos. Sweet.

I've seen the Ozma episodes with Liz, and holy crap that sandmarine battle was FUCKING AWESOME.

Can't wait to see what else they pull off.

Korra is, of course, fucking KORRA, and now I wish April was here already.
