What else could he do at this point? Grimmjoww, Halilbel, and Stark are likely to have survived but I really only see Grimm coming back to actually do something.

Totally called Captain Genocide only sacrificing his arm to that technique. Though it makes me wonder with a month worth of time why hasn't Orihime reconstructed it? We know she can put you back together form basically nothing. Also, why isn't she working on Hinamori? I mean what she couldn't leave Ichigo for a few days while he was playing Sleeping Beauty for a month?

Aizen's still alive, which I shouldn't really be surprised at since we didn't see his bankai. Which means he still has plenty of potential to escape and fuck shit up. We haven't seen the other side of that big gate. We haven't seen the King of Soul Society.We don't know why Aizen is such a mopey villain in his sword. Etc.

I mean it's a lot of jail time, but we're talking about goddamn immortals, so any finite amount of jail time pretty much just = some jail time.

well for one, no that isn't the punishment. Remember Aizen was manipulating things. It was what first made some of the characters suspicious because her punishment was pretty extreme.

Also being sealed away in isolation for tens of thousands of years to most is worse then death. Which admittedly makes no sense unless they plan to kill him right afterwards. There is no way you can go through that and come out sane

They're banishing him to Avici because, apparently, he's freaking immortal even by Soul Reaper standards. They'd probably have him killed if they could kill him.

Plus, the Sogyoku being destroyed kind of puts a damper on execution plans.

Between this and the unconfirmed 'deaths' of most of the arrancar, we have a nice opening for a point where all the previous Bleach villains return to wreck havoc on Ichigo and Pals.

Kinda like that bit in Dragonball Z where everyone escaped Hell, but they were so pathetic even Krillin could deal with them...

Well, he does have a bunch of unrevealed stuff that he can us. The whole Hell thing that was forgotten after Chapter 3 (Or whatever single digit chapter it appeared in), most of the Bankais, the Soul King, Vasto Lordes, Chad, and probably more things that Kubo made up then ignored/forgot about.

And he can always just make more shit up.

So I suspect more Bleach.
