Who the fuck has that much money to burn
Also: For some reason this whole Kickstarter thing has made me insanely angry at the Huss Maybe it's because I have absolutely no faith that even half the money being donated to Kickstarters actually goes to the project in question as opposed to just going into the creator's pocket for personal use Or maybe it's just because the very idea that people would spend thousands of dollars on shit like this in this kind of an economy sends shivers down my spine Dear person with $10,000 to donate to something as silly as this: How about, like donating that money to ONE instead Or maybe like, donating that money to piss-poor broke unemployed folks who'd genuinely see $100, let alone $10,000, as a substantial blessing in their lives

Like, it doesn't cost a ton of money to make a high fidelity game because you have to pay per polygon or something. It costs money to make a high fidelity game because the game developers need to be paid and eat, and the longer the development cycle takes, the more that is the case. I would be disappointed if the money WASN'T mostly going to the game developers for their own personal use. If they break the goal, that means they can hire on additional developers to spend the money for their own personal use. And if you think 700k is too much for a videogame, you're underestimating how much games cost to make.

Oh I thought this was like, Andrew Hussie's Kickstarter for Andrew Hussie singlehandedly making us a board game or a D&D style Homestuck rulebook or something.
It's a video game and he's hiring other people? Okay, that's somewhat less offensive.

No 10k backers as of now, anyway.

Aaaand after just 32 hours, the kickstarter hit and passed its 700k goal.
Hussie is pretty much living every 15 year old's dream of getting a bunch of money from strangers to make his own video game with. In other news, Hussie makes a GOOD executive decision for once and decides to put regular updates in between the walkaround updates. Speaking of which.
